Love you'r vedio.thank to share..I love nature. I want to see a forest with mushrooms like this one time. I live in Florida and there is no forest like this near where I live. I very want to go hunter to find king boletus mushrooms. like this once some day. i very hope..i enjoy to watch you'r vedio look like i go with you guys too.thank you
Crazy. Across the pond here (Austria) if I go into the forest, I find pretty much exactly the same mushrooms. Even the ones at 5:25 that trick you into thinking you got a bolete :) We even got the same mushroom fly (-> maggots) problem. You got a lot of Macrolepiota too?
Essentially all over the world youll find the same mushroom. It's pretty crazy. Here in California we have the CA king which is a nuttier, often more bulbous but quite similar mushroom.
I've noticed a pattern with the maggots that I am going to explore next season... I think that the fly-maggots prefer areas where pine/spruce threes are dominant. Because the soil is a lot less dense, making it easier to lay eggs for some reason. Especially bad is that factor combined with water/lakes nearby. Atleast it seems that way to me. Whenever I check videos or made good finds myself it was always in areas more dominated by hardwoods such as beech/birch/oak etc. Just a random thesis I got.
@@stoneeh Havn't you noticed how the maggots always infest the stem first? They go from the bottom up. I've once found a baby bolete that literally was burrowed in the ground, almost unspottable. It had maggots in the bottom-stem but not in the cap. Doesn't make any sense.
Love your channel! Followed you from Klesh! I just found 15-20lbs of Hawks Wing mushrooms. I would like to turn you on to the "Spot" and give you some if you could trade for King Boletes spot. I keep finding Aspen Boletes. i could use a little 101 on mushroom hunting and identifying. Thanks CT
After you have pulled out the mushroom, you must cover the mycelium with leaves and earth. Otherwise, the mycelium will dry out and will not give birth to more mushrooms.
I know exactly where you are! You guys are in my spot! I call it deer camp. Nice haul.
Awesome 👍 all mine this year had bugs luckily I still have a bucket full of dehydrated ones from last year’s craziness
With Hawk wing mushrooms? If you put into chicken soup after blanched one time? It is wonderful chicken soup you may make it.

I hear your bear bell.
Bears are harmless here in Colorado, unlike northern Idaho, Montana

Southern Colorado between 10,000-11,000ft

What a fruitful hunting! Where is this?
Thanks! This is in southern Colorado
Likely near Spanish Peaks or south on ranch lands, could be Bear Valley.
Hope to see you out there, but my health might not allow it 😢
