The video shows collecting of these 4 mushroom species: 1: Boletus edulis (Cep / Penny bun), 2: Neoboletus luridiformis (Scarletina bolete), 3: Lactarius deterrimus (False saffron milkcap), 4: Leccinum piceinum (Red-cap bolete). It was recorded in Slovakia on 7th August 2021.

Finding Mushrooms in the forest are my stress reliever.
Yes it's always a very relaxing experience :)
Same!🍄🍄🍄🍄❤
I have a mushroom in my room
I love mushrooms... thankyou for sharing
My pleasure :)
When you found the two Boletus edulis next to the Fly Agaric, you reminded me of of my mentor's reaction when she found Fly Agarics. She called them her "lucky" mushroom, since Fly Agaric and Boletus Edulis (her favorites) so often grow in the same conditions. Whenever she found a Fly Agaric, she would proclaim "There is the lucky, now where is the luck?" as she proceeded to hunt the surrounding area for the Porcini that was sure to be found nearby.
Thanks for taking us along on your hunt, and thanks for reminding me of my old friend!
I'm amused by how similar mushroom hunting is in Slovakia and in the American Rocky Mountains where I live. We seem to have many of the same species, growing in similar conditions. We have a Leccinum species that is common here, that looks very like the one you are collecting. It is Leccinum aurantiacum, which is called the "aspen bolete" locally, since the white stem has dark patches, similar to the dark patches on the trunk of the aspen trees that it grows underneath.
That's a nice story, maybe I'll start to use the luck and lucky combo too for myself :) And it is interesting to hear about the similarity. We have Leccinum aurantiacum here too - we call it oak bolete and blood bolete, however it mostly grows under aspens. Under aspens you can also find Leccinum albostipitatum here, which we normally call aspen bolete. It's similar to aurantiacum, just the stem is completely white for typical specimen. In some of my September 2022 videos I have both of them :)
Wow !
Pekne video and lots of fun

Beautiful mushroom.
Great video, such perfect mushrooms too! Your videos are so clear and you are a great communicator, it would be nice to see some profile videos on some of the less common species too with descriptions on their identification, for example the Scarletinas in this video
Thank you for your appreciation and for the suggestion. I'll consider that in the future, hopefully I will be able to spend even more time in nature.
Great video, so exited
Great video.. Feel relax

Wonderful!
Thank you :)
I’ve been watching your videos repeatedly, really love watching it❤️❤️❤️👍
Glad you like them!
How do you cook those scabber stalks? They're common here but I find they don't taste great..
I don't cook mushrooms often and when I do, it's often a mixture of various species. So it's difficult for me to compare.
Great channel. I am from the other side of the world and it is interesting to see hunters from different areas. Great footage, to the point and simply well done. Looks like you are having a very good season.
Thank you, I'm glad you like the channel. I believe even some mushroom species might be different than on the other side of the world. The season here is delayed by almost 1 month due to the long winter, but it's very rich :)
Would like to know how you cook them. Fry, stew ect.... thank you for your very informative channel
great video beautiful nature
Thank you :)

WOW I LIKE TO WATCH SO MUCH..I LOVE MUSROOM...
New subscriber from houston, US! I was on a hunt recently and stumbled upon a bunch of death caps and ruby boletes. Great finds Luke!
Tank you and good luck in your mushroom hunts :)
@@LukesMushrooms thanks!
We have same mushrooms in Serbia. My grandma took us often to forest when we were kids and thought us about edible mushrooms.
Idk their latin or english names, but we collected vrganje, lisicarke and mlecike. Mlecika was my favorite, it's completely white, and when you cut it, it bleeds white "milk", it also have a mildly spicy smell and flavor.
Nice, seems like mlecike is some kind of milkcap (Lactarius) :)
@@LukesMushrooms i just found it, it is Lactarius Piperatus. When you grill it with just a little salt, it's one of the most delicious mushrooms i have ever tried.
Thanks for the info. I found this species just once so far and I think here it is considered inedible, but I know some people eat it.
I learned to hunt mushrooms in the U.S. from a charming lady who grew up in Austria. Since she was once my German language professor, we discussed the names of the mushrooms we found in many languages. In honor of the memory of my dear friend Sigrid, I can help you learn the foreign names for your favorite mushrooms!
The vrganje is the same mushroom Luke is collecting in this video, the one he calls Boletus edulis, which grows worldwide and, naturally, has lots of different names. Vrganje is called the "King Bolete" in the American Rocky Mountains where I collect it, while the English call it a "penny bun." It is known as the "Porcini" (little pig) in Italian and the "Cep" (for its thick stem) in French. The vrganje was Sigrid's favorite mushroom!
The liscarke was another of her favorites. In French it is called the Chantrelle, and we use that French name when we find it in the U.S. as well. I don't recall learning any other names for the Chantrelle, so I'm glad to add the name liscarke to my mushroom lexicon! Спасибо! 😉
A new subscriber watching from Perth Australia, amazing mushrooms hunting bro..!

Glad you like it :) And thanks for your comments.
Great catch! Boletus edulis is my favorite. I just wonder when you cover the holes after picking the mushrums. Do new boletus edulis grow at the same spot? And if so, how long does it take before they appear again?
Yes they grow again if the conditions are good, sometimes they need just a few days. But usually it's not at the very same spot but a few centimeters next to it or so.
Watching your vedeos from philippines.
Hello to Philippines :)
Hi it’s a beautiful video, it’s clear and not shaky. Can you please show next time the whole cleaning of mushroom ☺️ thank you!
Thank you. I'll keep that in mind and try to show more cleaning, but as it's quite time consuming, it might not be always :)
very nice video. abonniert!
Show us how u clean chopped and cook it or store it that would be so satisfying ❤😍😍
Thank you for the suggestion. So far I don't do such videos but if there is time I may do that in the future :)

Welcome here, I'm glad you like the videos :)
Wow I like 👍 you vdo you're good luck
Mantap
Is there a particular app you use to identify or just research knowledge?
I don't use any app and I don't recommend to use them as the tool which decides whether to eat a mushroom or not. But it may be potentially useful in other cases.
Do it have in Minnesota ya too ? What state are you at?
Excellent finds! Which Leccinum sp. are these? I don't think we get them in the UK. I've only ever found Leccinum scabrum - which isn't the best edible in my opinion! ;D
Thank you. That's Leccinum piceinum. Scabrum is also fine for me, but I don't find them very often either :)
@@LukesMushrooms I recently found a nice Boletus edulis spot not too far from my house, and have some Imleria badia spots also :)
I’ve seen some of porcinis you took were colored blue. Is it 100% edible?
Nice harvest, but how about to use the knife instead of taking out the mushroom from the soil together with mycelium?
Thank you. I'm glad you care about mycelium but I do as well. Nowadays the knife method is considered to not be the best anymore.
hi nice video but what are the red closed mushrooms real name ? can't seem to find them anywhere? 👍🏼
Thanks. You probably mean Leccinum piceinum.
I wish i can also pick mushrooms🤗
I am a beginner, and I have identified to about 99.9% certainty some of the mushrooms that I have seen in the woods, but I just can't seem to work up the courage to try to eat it! ahahahah! How did you guys get past that with your first couple of times foraging and eating what you find. Any tips are welcome because I don't want to accidentally murder myself lol! Great video.
It's of course a wise thing to be careful and not eat it if you are not 100% sure :) I would recommend you to ask some of local experts to identify or to teach you. Not sure how it works in your country but often there are local mushroom clubs or advisory services.
In my country there is a belief that if you find a small or large mushroom, you must take it otherwise it will rot
🍄🍄🍄🎄🎄🎄
What country is this? I love mushroom picking🤗😍
This video is also from Slovakia :)
Is there mushroom in very dry savannahs?? Close to being desert
Unfortunately I don't have much information about that :/
Woow
I saw someone who popped off the bottom part of the stem and put it back in the hole, so I've been doing that, is this okay to do? Or is covering the hole the better way? I handled the bulbs and now feel nervous that I've made a mistake? Some of these I haven't heard of before, such an impressive find. I see so many different mushrooms in my area, I hope I can be as knowledgeable on them one day as you are. Love the video!
You are too far all over the place. Basically, if you are not sure, pick to help identifying. Covering the hole like Luke is a nice thing to do, although it helps very little. Cut if you know what it is, it’s just cleaner. This can all depend on the type. Think of picking or cutting an apple off a tree. Does it matter? You are standing on a “tree” of mycelium, you are only seeing the fruits (mushrooms).
@@trav9902 okay, so I didn't damage the mycelium by touching the bulbs and then putting them back in? I read for growing mushrooms the mycelium needs to be in a sterile environment and my hands weren't sterile, I had forgotten about that when I handled them. I'll cut from now on with the ones I know the identity of, thank you!
@@queenieburgers50 At the end of the day, it does not matter much how you choose to do it. Have fun, the mycelium will be ok.
@@trav9902 thank you so much!
I wonder how so much mushrooms grow there...
I think it's normal - it's not always. They had good conditions that time and I was lucky to be there.
I love this. Why Thailand do not have muchroom like that
Glad you like it :)
