Actually No, they aren't just fellow soldiers. They are friends, some of them, more than... They even betrayed the Council together. They have some level of Trust. First time playing the series, and ME 2 so far is just poor writing. The og characters are just getting side lined just to be and they are very out of character...

Tali was my fave for M!Shep as well.. at least until Shadow Broker DLC went out and I could continue being with Liara and plan lots of little blue children with her lol
@Salaiya1 Yeah, I liked her a lot and her romance scene was so sad... but I don’t believe they’ll make it possible to really romance her. She couldn’t break her code to let her favorite daughter live, and she’d do it to sleep with Shepard? Nah… sadly that doesn’t make sense. My romance plans for ME3 are: Kaidan :D the new romance options, Tali or Liara (don’t know which one first), Thane (if in the squad, if not Garrus first), Garrus, and then I’ll see if I still wanna play more.
@ScapeTube19 I hear both are quite popular, especially on nightmare. Vanguard seems to get things done much quicker though, but Infiltrator is easier I guess; using cloak anytime Shep’s in trouble.

@Salaiya1 I read on ME wikia that they wanted squad to be much smaller, so you can develop stronger relationships. No room for other romances then, only as temporary squad members. That’s a pity! I always like to have my LI in the squad in all games with romances, even if they don’t really fit my play style. I hope at least you’ll be able to talk to them often in between the missions, through extranet or something.

And even if her daughters were the reason she became justicar, she made it pretty clear she won’t stop being one now when Morinth’s dead.
See, as far as I’m concerned; Kaidan more or less dumped Shepard in this scene. So I feel no guilt in pursuing a relationship with something else (*cough* Garrus *cough*) but the game treats it like you’ve cheated on Kaidan, which I think is unfair!
@FluffyNinjaLlama If you go to your squad screen and check in the upper left, there is an identity code. It's essentially the code for all of your choices you made in character customization. They were asking you to post it so they could replicate it.
There was only one thing that bugged me with this reunion. That was the fact your squad mates are watching it. It should have been more private. I know I'd tell them to get lost or Kaidan to talk somewhere more private. By the way, that's one of the most prettiest femShep I've seen. By any chance do you have a face code for her? I cannot wait for march to come. ^^
@Salaiya1 Yeah they forced it so they should accept it, besides Kaidan has been seeing this doctor so he didn’t stay clean either. I don’t think someone’s gonna leave permanently. All LIs stay if you break up with them, so why would they leave when it’s because of someone else? And they’re fighting to save the galaxy as well, they’re not just there for great sex :D, so they’re not just gonna abandon the mission and go home, right? They could prolly turn hostile, though. Am I the only one who actually agrees with Kaidan/Ash on this ? When you play ME1, you destroy several Cerberus stuff, weird experiments on humans and animals, and if you're survivor of Akuze, you know that they are mainly responsible for your parent's death as Toombs explains to Shepard... I was really disapointed about this plot in ME2 even if I enjoyed the game. At least M3 repairs this problem.

They KNOW Sovereign was just a vangaurd and that the rest of the Reapers are out there and on their way. None of this matches up with the Cerberus from ME1's usual motives and MO or what just went down. That SHOULD have given them pause. Even if you say that their emotions got in the way of their logic on this, they are still pulling this bullshit on Mars in ME3 after Shepard PROVED she was right all along!

They originally were gonna let u recruit in any order, proof is characters have unique dialogue in places that are in impossible in final game. That said maybe this mission was suppose to be introduced a lot sooner, forcing you to have only Miranda and Jacob as squad mates for this mission.

I reserved this game when it was announced. I got the collector's edition at the midnight release. I played a few hours and stopped playing it until now under quarantine 10 years later. I fucking hate this game. The game play went from BioWare RPG to Gears of War action adventure shooter with many dialog tress where your choice results in the same delivery. The opening stinks of EA. • Blow up the ship so we can make a newer and sexier one, and have an excuse to get rid of the Mako. • Kill Shepard so we have an excuse for you to be level 1 againand break up the crew so we can rehash the same plot of "assemble a team". I chose the "I don't trust you and go fuck yourselves" dialog options and literally took my first flight back to the Citadel to give them the ship and become a Spector again. I am not working for them... except CHOO CHOO railroad story. I am here after experiencing this for my first time in this 10 year old game and continue to hate the writing and this encounter.

When you met him he had 8 to 12 months to live and maybe a month or two passed in the game than its two months after you destroy the collecter base that the 3rd one starts so he'll have about 6 to 8 months
@Salaiya1 Oh my.. I checked it out… Kaidan & Ash are hot in ME3…. Gahhhh I guess now it’s pretty clear I won’t be able to resist Kaidan in my 1st playthrough. Unless those new LI options are even hotter, and even if they are I don’t think so ‘coz Kaidan’s a sweetheart… Well except for the Horizon meeting and his reaction to working out stress some more proposition. And Tali's in the squad, that's so cool!

You'll be able to continue all your relationships from ME1, ME2 to ME3 and have a few new ones since you'll be able to ave gay and lesbian romances that should be interesting

Yeah but even if shes not Miranda or Ashely hott she'll always be my Tali. I saw that pic I would love for her to be like that. Ashely maybe hott in the next one but theres a 50/50 chance she wont lose that attitude, it may give her character but some things you just dont wanna deal with while your saving the galaxy and building alliances and solving everyones elses problems all at the same time

When I met Ashely with my male Shepard who romanced her she ripped me a new one worse than what Kaidan did to the female Shepard. The WTF was all over my face. Was very pissed once got over it got a letter from her apologizing than romanced Tali liked her alot more. Once romance was complete I learned that cheating or in my case broke up with would be consequences decided didnt need more drama made a few new Shepards crisis averted still dont forgive her.
What bugs me the most about this is that Kaidan is one of the firsts to be stung by those insects, yet he appears in front of Shepard like its nothing? Or did I just miss something? ugh
Why are people being so bent out of shape at Kaiden's reaction to seeing Shepard again after all the shit's that's gone down? Let's put this into perspective- you fall head over heels for someone only for them to die before your eyes. You spend the next couple years grieving, trying to recover, just moving on- suddenly with no warning at all they show up evidently working with terrorists. And you have every suspicion to believe that its not only a trick done to make your enemies believe that the love of your life has returned. But that the love of your life themselves have betrayed you, so yeah- your reaction would be similar. And besides he does apologize later but still needs time to process Shepard being back into his life.
No problem till the game comes out I try gathering as much info as I can to decide which Shepard to start off with. If you have a Shepard who romanced Ashely/Kaidan you might want to start off with them cause they'll be the first squad mate you meet oh and they will be Spector's. I'm debating between the one who romanced Liara or Tali Ashely waited for two years she can wait alil longer. I made 2 new Shepards male and female no romances so I dont miss any good romances

Kaidan was whiny, but Ashley was bitchy. Kaidan > Ashley but barely by a hairline; both are too blind with Cereberus hate, even if they were ultimately on the right. Never romanced either of the two for either Sheps.

The only time things gotten heated was when i stated i didnt want to be with cerberus the i calmed down. I remembered who i was talking to.

I chose the "I don't trust you and go fuck yourselves" dialog options and literally took my first flight back to the Citadel to give them the ship and become a Spector again. I am not working for them... except CHOO CHOO railroad story.
I am here after experiencing this for my first time in this 10 year old game and continue to hate the writing and this encounter.

When you met him he had 8 to 12 months to live and maybe a month or two passed in the game than its two months after you destroy the collecter base that the 3rd one starts so he'll have about 6 to 8 months
@Salaiya1 Oh my.. I checked it out… Kaidan & Ash are hot in ME3…. Gahhhh I guess now it’s pretty clear I won’t be able to resist Kaidan in my 1st playthrough. Unless those new LI options are even hotter, and even if they are I don’t think so ‘coz Kaidan’s a sweetheart… Well except for the Horizon meeting and his reaction to working out stress some more proposition. And Tali's in the squad, that's so cool!
@Salaiya1 Aww I know they need love and I’m giving it to them lol Except for Kaidan, all my other favorite LIs are aliens. Come to think of it there wasn’t a lot of choice for F!Shep… There were aliens or… Jacob… with his priiiize… meh... And for M!Shep it wasn’t difficult to choose Liara and Tali over the others so ALIENS FTW Still, I’m going for Kaidan in my 1st PT... humans need love too lol

@FluffyNinjaLlama Yeah I think im going for Tali in my first playthrough since im sure I can give her the second best thing of all next to myself, her homeworld. So I guess ill be in the middle of some Talibrations. Alos it will be interesting to see what her people think when they see us together if i can i will be all over her in front of them
@Salaiya1 Oh, I thought it was longer in between ME2&3. It will be a nightmare for me to choose my LI than…. Kaidan, Liara, Tali, Thane…. a new gay romance. Guess I’ll just have to play many times… as always, besides all my Shepards deserve their chance to save the galaxy lol Thanks again for the info!

You'll be able to continue all your relationships from ME1, ME2 to ME3 and have a few new ones since you'll be able to ave gay and lesbian romances that should be interesting

And yeah everything was all right with her body… but… this jaw… Meh… Ash’s way hotter than her, especially now, with long hair. @FluffyNinjaLlama Yeah a pity but you'll be able to have same sex romances and continue the romances you had in ME2 your lover may not play a major part in the game but im sure they'll be there to talk so its not wasted that would make players unhappy if you couldnt

Yeah but even if shes not Miranda or Ashely hott she'll always be my Tali. I saw that pic I would love for her to be like that. Ashely maybe hott in the next one but theres a 50/50 chance she wont lose that attitude, it may give her character but some things you just dont wanna deal with while your saving the galaxy and building alliances and solving everyones elses problems all at the same time

I REALLY WISH they would of let us romance Samara the only other asari on your team and you cant be with her... load of crap. my first PT will be Tali, Liara, Jack, Ashely, and than Miranda. basically im not sure i can understand whats going on there. oh did you know there will be consequences if you cheat on someone from ME1 with someone from ME2? Heres what i think may happen
1. Your lover from ME1 will try to kill your lover in ME2 (not likely to happen but still wouldnt be surprised thinking they lost you now theyve been replaced both seem ready to snap anyways.
2. both lover confront you and your force to choose one than the others leaves permantly (losing Ashely for Tali
When I met Ashely with my male Shepard who romanced her she ripped me a new one worse than what Kaidan did to the female Shepard. The WTF was all over my face. Was very pissed once got over it got a letter from her apologizing than romanced Tali liked her alot more. Once romance was complete I learned that cheating or in my case broke up with would be consequences decided didnt need more drama made a few new Shepards crisis averted still dont forgive her.
What bugs me the most about this is that Kaidan is one of the firsts to be stung by those insects, yet he appears in front of Shepard like its nothing? Or did I just miss something? ugh

Why are people being so bent out of shape at Kaiden's reaction to seeing Shepard again after all the shit's that's gone down? Let's put this into perspective- you fall head over heels for someone only for them to die before your eyes. You spend the next couple years grieving, trying to recover, just moving on- suddenly with no warning at all they show up evidently working with terrorists. And you have every suspicion to believe that its not only a trick done to make your enemies believe that the love of your life has returned. But that the love of your life themselves have betrayed you, so yeah- your reaction would be similar. And besides he does apologize later but still needs time to process Shepard being back into his life.

No problem till the game comes out I try gathering as much info as I can to decide which Shepard to start off with. If you have a Shepard who romanced Ashely/Kaidan you might want to start off with them cause they'll be the first squad mate you meet oh and they will be Spector's. I'm debating between the one who romanced Liara or Tali Ashely waited for two years she can wait alil longer. I made 2 new Shepards male and female no romances so I dont miss any good romances

But she became a justicar because of her daughter i believe. and her Code doesnt forbid romantic involvement so yes something could of happened but didnt cause of her self-control and knowing she could be happy with him leaves you with the biggest wtf after she leaves. Yea I might start off with my Shepard who has Ashely romanced since i wanna see how much ass shes going to kiss for our last meeting but dont wanna waste the first playthrough on someone who didnt believe in me once I get the strategy guide i can make a desicion or just flip a coin
I couldn't trust Kaidan in a romantic capacity after he turned his back on me like that when I needed him. I only romance Garrus now: he stands by you no matter what.

Kaidan was whiny, but Ashley was bitchy. Kaidan > Ashley but barely by a hairline; both are too blind with Cereberus hate, even if they were ultimately on the right. Never romanced either of the two for either Sheps.
