- These Husqvarna 5 Layer Apron Wrap Chaps offer comfortable, rugged chainsaw protection. They are made of extra durable 1000 Denier Polyester with PU Coating. Adjustable top waist belt that snaps to user's leg length. Securely fastens to waist and elgs with acetal delrin plastic buckle. High visibility orange color with reflective piping. Includes both a wedge pocket that fits an 8" felling wedge, and a gear pocket.

Love these first look videos. Those chaps looked like a bullet-proof vest when you pulled them out of the box!
I have had these chaps a few years. they are awesome.
Just got a pair....They are comfortable and fit wear well..No uncomfort or motion restriction.
Just got this pair today for Christmas. Tried them on and they are awesome. Can't wait to get them in the woods and get them dirty.

ITS SO CUTE!!! And brilliant! I wish all kids jackets had a flap like that to remove the leaves, seeds, rocks, feathers etc....lol
I love move I got to use them again today because the heavy wet snow was breaking branches LOL
Keep up the good work, totally love your channel and style of reviewing! Its a real shame you don't have access to some of the chainsaw trousers we have in Europe as I'd love to see your honest opinion of them. Just got myself some Arbortec Breatheflex trousers and I think they are amazing. Ever thought of approaching some companies over here for sponsorship as I think you'd be a great US ambassador and surely some Americans/Canadians wear full trousers rather than just chaps.
Thanks for the compliment. I'd love to get my hands on some, the ones I want most are made over there by a company called synfiber out of norway (though they're branded as the Stihl Xtreem). I tried for months to get a pair over here, not happening. I'd try again, but was just last week told by stihl that they're not really interested, maybe some of the other companies are though, thanks for the idea!

I wear jeans with a 30 inch inseam. How do I measure for chainsaw chaps. Would the 36-38 be my size? Thanks Human for the video and information.
I've got a set of these. The buckles will come right off the straps and are lost easily.
Also, they are HOT. Africa hot. Using them in temperatures above 50 degrees, one is likely to have heat stroke while wearing them.

I got a pair of these not for chainsaw protection, but keeping pitch and wear off my pants bucking logs and blocking firewood. Didn't find the wedge pocket to be worth it - I've got an old tool belt bag that takes 3 stepped in height, easy to access. Biggest thing on these was ripping the webbing off the left leg and restitching so the Delrin buckles were on the outside of the calf where they should be. No idea why they put them on the inside, and only one leg.
Yeah, I just bought a pair of these and was baffled as to why the right leg buckles were on the outside of the leg and even looked better or more sleek , and the left leg buckles were on the inside of the leg. Weird…
That wedge pocket is a lot like a pocket on Fjallraven vidda pro outdoor pants. And they market it as an axe pocket. So could probably do the same with these. Just slide the handle down through the pocket, if you for some reason didn't have a tool belt to hold it and needed an axe with you anyways.
Would you happen to know the model number of these and what the chain FPM rating is? I've seen some online called technical 3000 or just technical hi viz. the ones without the number in the title dont list the speed and the ones that have the 3000 or 4000 are listed as such. But the ones I'm looking at getting don't have any info on the husqvarna site of what the FPM rating is, and given my saw is 3900FPM
I’ve tried using the bottom flap pocket for my hatchet and it will work it’s way out.
I hold my two small wedges in the top gear pocket.
I wish the chainsaw pant was made more available here in the US at a sensible price like in Europe.
Chaps are just plain cumbersome and the prefered choice of gentleman wandering the Castro in San Francisco for some reason.
a trick : you can watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.

oppetunity for sales in a different market... im buying a pair to use in winter riding my motorcycle. easy on, easy off, hi vis, waterproof and strong. no brainer really but they dont make them like this for sale in bike shops.
I don't see why they wouldn't want to protect the most important part... the jewels!

That would be awesome! I doubt it though, my rep I think just hasn't been back up to the St. louis area to pick it up/drop of another saw. I'd be ecstatic if they did though =)

Human hope they let you. You do really good reviews, you made me tempted to show off some of my saws. I would take the 540xp and a 200t all day long over the 201t. I've had a 201t and after trying these 2 great saws don't know if I'll ever go back. I own a 200t, too poor to buy one as of now. 200t suits me perfect, great saw but not as great of fuel economy as the 540. Don't know about the 201tC-M, what's your opinion?
I knew I recognized some of those neighborhoods. ;) I live in that area, got property down in Iron county that I'm doing some cutting on so I picked up a Stihl 271 (I would probably get a different saw if I knew then what I know now, but it works fine for me) from ElJay (they were close).

I Volunteer with a organization that does disaster relief work after storms . hurricains or tornados.. it manditory that everyone using a chainsaw wear full protection[ helmet with sheildt chaps, gloves and stealtoe boots] I've seen 4 people cut there chaps.... Amazing how quickly the chaps fibers stopped the saw .. Well worth the price. its said the average chainsaw cut requires 70 stiches
I heard somewhere it takes an average of about 120 stitches.
I'm just surprised they only have 5 layers. Stihls lower end is 6 and there promark end Is 9.

I would guess these are marketed towards the home owner/smaller cc saw user.
Not sure, but they do use different materials, which would have a large impact on performance I imagine. These chaps are rated for chain speeds of up to 2750 fpm, stihls specs aren't listed on their website.
Human I know stihls chaps are rated for the safety standards imposed. You can look up those standards and see the specs that they meet.

Human I just got my ported 661 back from mastermind. I asked about you running the hd2 because I switched to a maxflow filter which the cover comes in black. Thought maybe you had switched and made the rest of the saw match. Anyway good channel brother keep up the good work.

Boss bought a pair of these for a coworker, because they were "big" and he is "big". He fells trees like once a year, while mowing most of the year. When I use them he make a big deal like "hurr wurr yurr wurring murr churpps" - "hurr wurr yurr gurr poisuurrn urrrvy urn murr churpps, rr surr yurr an rr gnurr beurt yurr aurse". So by these chaps I shall keep the memory of big dummy, an how he took nothing off anyone, lived a life of upright luxury at work when not operating equipment featuring a seat, and went nightly to the gym to use the ab machine and smith machine before going home and eating an entire tub of cottage cheese, presumably at his cottage. Lol. "Tree gear, tree people"
I wished I had a pair of those a year ago , I was starting a vintage saw between my legs and it went to full throttle around 16,000 rpm and the flywheel exploded and took both of my nuts and half of my left leg out , my nuts were splattered all over my neighbors house

John Wells: Gulp, what the hell were you doing trying to start the thing with it rammed between your legs for anyway?
I saw a mate trying to start his like that once, the thing locked up and had a go at his nuts and upper inner thy (not quite as bad as your though) I 'quickly but surely' became wise to that! 'ALWAYS' drop start your saw, it's pushing downwards and you're pulling against it, so it's getting twice the force for starting as opposed to any other method... despite what people say, I've found it far quicker and much more controllable than any other method!
Why are you trying to make your voice deeper?
Get yourself a lapel mike. You sound like you're in a small tiled bathroom. Very irritating.
