The new 500 yen coins don’t work in many vending machines. I still have to use the older 五百 円 500 yen coins. Keep up the great work my friend and hello from samurai Ken in Yamagata.
Actually the world's highest value circulating coin is the swiss 5 franc coin worth about $5.14 while japanese 500 yen coin the second most valued one at nearly $3.8.
Yes it also gets counterfeited but owing to the small percentage of trade with it as compared to japanese yen and pound sterling and also its small population the amount of counterfeit coins is not that much although the number of genuine coins is also not that high as compared to 500 yen whose yearly mintage is about more than 100 million , so it might be considered a coin prone to forgery however unlike the Japanese 500 yen coin it has all its major dimensions same since 1931.

Thanks for the information. I have qualified the description. Do you know if the Swiss 5 franc has been prone to counterfeiting?
