Just found this little gem. What an inspirational little film. So nice to see someone just having an adventure and not worried about breaking records or A to B speeds.
Just brilliant, dangerously recklessly bloody brilliant. I wish I had a fraction of your fortitude and spirit. I’ve walked and bothered in the highlands and it can be very daunting. Bloody well done chap. 👏
A nice change to the manic LEJOG vids that are done in 8-10 days, looking to do this in 2020 at 52 year old and aiming for 50-60 miles a day, self supported camping. Should be fun. Yours is a great video, Cheers.
I just stumbled across this particular installmemt. 😂😂😂 bloody brilliant, funny, engaging and the way you just get on with it with that smile is just brilliant. Love it
I have watched many of the LE/JoG videos on YT but this one is by far has been the most enjoyable, interesting and inspirational one. Total respect and admiration for your achievement Jon, and for the spirit of the whole trip. The video is beautifully edited and I just love the soundtrack..great stuff!!
I've watched a lot of bike-packing videos and this is my new favourite. I love the 'make it up as I go along' approach and you've really inspired me to embark on this kind of adventure soon. Great stuff.
Wonderful film pal. I've been thinking of doing this for some time now to see the lovely islands we live on first hand. I admire your free spirit attitude towards the journey. Super stuff ;)
This was brilliant Jon. I loved how casual you made it feel and how you approached problems with real optimism. Reall enjoyed, looking to do the trip beginning of Sep.
Great film, very well shot and a great ethos, not all who wander are lost apart from Jon on his bike for a little while! great stuff look froward to watching more like that.
that was one of the best lands ens to john o groats films ive watched and iam glade its just not me that gets lost thanks for posting and well done for having the balls to camp where you like under the circumstances .hopefully if allowed iam cycling from devon to noth wales in june its only 300 miles but well exited to do it,regards paul.
Thanks so much for your Film. Especially you getting lost in Scotland - loved it. As well the very good musician on the road and the fulminant (land's) end. ❤️
Hi Jon, just watched this and it's really inspiring. Great the way you just too your time and enjoyed the experience. Will check out your other vids as well. All the best.
Man you had me in suspense during the bad gravel road areas. I thought you would give up! (Many would!) You seem to have a carefree casual attitude about it all and that's inspiring. I'm sure you yelled and screamed a lot though! Haha! And to think you did all that on a cheap used bicycle. Most people wouldn't even attempt something like that unless they had at least a 2000 quid bike and hotel along the route. Seems like you had fun and proves that if you have the will there's always a way!
Brilliant video. Love from America. Loved "Wash Day"! ;) I would love to just be able to take off like this and go on an adventure. Here in America, we have a lot of trails to hike. as soon as my boss retires, I believe I will just take off. Getting lost has never sounded so good.
hi tonya iam glad you have enjoyed the videos hopefully more to come. Editing a recent trip to India now. please don't wait until your boss retires? jon
I really enjoyed watching this. Well done. Very brave to go off road in the wilds of Scotland. You're a true adventurer. Did this trip myself tother way in 2001. But I took the soft option of B&Bs. Journey of a lifetime, you'll never forget it.
Wow, great achievement. You certainly are extreme and can cope without comforts. Good camera work which really adds to the film but must've added a lot of time for you. I appreciate it.
Great video - cycled and camped all my life (On and off) and I am itching to try this cycle touring thing. It's only taken me 55 years to get round to it! Overweight with dodgy knees and creaking other bits - I'm determined to do as much of it as I can while I still can.
What a cracking video!!! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us thoroughly enjoyed it, im getting ready to do my LEJOG (Lands End to John O Groats) in August 2018 here's hoping my video turns out to be every bit as good as yours.
Great video mate. Done it myself a couple of times cycling to lands end from London and back to London from jog. Really loved your calmness when getting lost in Scotland. Really great video 👍🏽
Nice spent 27 minutes. Great job on bike and good video. Watching videos of cycling tours in Scotland and the UK in general, I noticed that most of the commuters are middle-aged people. Maybe that's why I want to go there?
Enjoyable watching , you should enter masterchef,I can imagine Greg wallace' reaction "Your pasta and rice dish is inspired, it's just a dash of Tabasco sauce away from perfection Jon"
Ha ha, lovely little insight into how a bike ride SHOULD be. Getting lost, who cares? Hilarious, your trip looks so much more fun than those head down, see nothing trips we are used to on UA-cam. You have a great attitude and I enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing. p.s. anyone tell you that you are the spit of Quint in Jaws (Robert Shaw), albeit you are a little leaner :)
Ahhhh I can't wait to do this ride! I cycled 1,000 miles along the Wild Atlantic Way in 2017 and have been looking forward to this ever since. Great movie! Thanks so much @jonepoulter7524
Enjoy your ride some people take a route that passes through my village of Thorverton on the outskirts of Exeter. feel free to pop in for a Cupper All the best jon
Glad I stumbled across your video. I Jogle'd May 2016. By way of a somewhat different route. Love your sense of adventure. I live 8 miles from Lands End... I agree the complex is a shite hole !! lol. Cheers Neil
Great video, nicely edited. With all your faffing about at the lochs I thought you might not make it to Cornwall but I'm glad you did. I liked your make it up as you go along style.
You've done it again. I thought, after some of your other adventures, you may think this one a bit on the tame side. But, no !! You seemed to have a great time ( certainly made a great video ) I think it's your fantastic adventurous spirit. Mind you, I think you should have saved this one for 2020 and made it a COVID adventure.
Holy shit. What a cool video. Mate, I enjoyed it really much. 👍I'll do the JoGLE next year, but I'm really sure that I'll take another route. Cheers from Austria, Helmut
Just found this little gem. What an inspirational little film. So nice to see someone just having an adventure and not worried about breaking records or A to B speeds.
I am 69 with a heart condition. I have cycled everyday nearly in my life. After seeing this I am going to do it. Many thanks
Just brilliant, dangerously recklessly bloody brilliant. I wish I had a fraction of your fortitude and spirit. I’ve walked and bothered in the highlands and it can be very daunting. Bloody well done chap. 👏
I loved that! Smiled the whole way through. The navigation through Scotland was hilarious.
A nice change to the manic LEJOG vids that are done in 8-10 days, looking to do this in 2020 at 52 year old and aiming for 50-60 miles a day, self supported camping. Should be fun.

Wonderful film pal. I've been thinking of doing this for some time now to see the lovely islands we live on first hand. I admire your free spirit attitude towards the journey. Super stuff ;)

Great filming. Now that is a proper adventure!
there's 30+thousand lochs in scotland and i think you must have seen most of them, great video
Just watching this while on the bike at the gym training for my attempt in April. Great video and well done 👍🏻

Really nice story telling and camera workmen-ship - taking into account that you were by yourself! Well done, looking forward doing my own trip.
Very relaxing watching your journey... I had to pause and reminisce as I ran Loch Ness Marathon 2021 fabulous times and journey there!
Great film, very well shot and a great ethos, not all who wander are lost apart from Jon on his bike for a little while! great stuff look froward to watching more like that.

Superb, great video. What a calm and infectious personality you have.
Really enjoyed this one, great film, relaxed pace, not having to definitely be meeting target destinations all the way. Well done. 👍
Simply done, yet thought provoking. Not to mention inspiring. Thanks.

There's some Jose Gonzalez in here from his band Junip. Not sure about others.
