How adorable! Twiggy was delightful and unaffected in this and Christopher Gable always upped my pulse rate! He moved from being one of the Royal Ballet's most expressive stars to a fine acting career, really shining in Ken Russell's Song of Summer in 1968. And a great teacher/choreographer too. I was gutted when this sweet, talented man left us 💔
Just great seeing Christopher Gable so young as I only knew him from the lovely film The Slipper and the Rose in which he cuts as elegant a figure as he does here. Also I have never seen Twiggy before other than still photos. Two hundred years ago, as a child, ‘Twiggy’ was my nickname with a few friends as I reputedly resembled her. These days, sadly, there is absolutely NO resemblance. So it was a pleasure to see this on two counts! Many thanks, MinstrelSurfer, for downloading.
This really cuts short the "Room in Bloomsbury" ending, before we get to see the woodland elves in the fantasy mushroom forest sequence -- which is one of the best parts of this eccentric film.
I have him on DVD in Simple Man from Northern Ballet with Moira Shearer as his mother. He was amazing ballet dancer with Royal Ballet but pushed out by Rudi Nureyev :(
I prefer the cast album with Ms. Andrews and the gentleman that sang it with her had a very rich voice. This man has a very thin voice. I’m guessing the ladies liked him so he got cast. Twiggy looks so washed out and her penciled-in eyebrows just look bizzare. Odd since she’s always attractive when I’ve seen her in other things.

She's multitalented and got nominated for Golden Globe for it! Definitely adore the movie and such an incredible legend!
Both are adorable.
This movie is my guilty pleasure

My mother found that sequence utterly delightful when we chanced upon this movie some decades on cable television.

“The mere idea of living in a palace is so full of phalluses”? Oh, fallacies.
I've heard it both ways
Awwwww !
And the lovely Christopher died of cancer in 1998 - he was only 58.
Darlingg, he died of complications from AIDS.
So? it makes no difference at all.
An amazing talent and still sadly missed.
Without him there would never have been N.B.T. His creation and legacy.
@@stuartlee6622 All info says he died of cancer. It may not have been Aids-related. If it was, it was still cancer.

Twiggy was Garbo’s flower child

She can't sing but she's cute to look at

Maybe you should watch the movie before commenting ... you might come off as slightly less ignorant that way.
