Magic eraser is equivalent to 6000 grit sand paper so be very careful with that on quartz. It can easily cause a full spot on the surface of quartz.

Magic eraser is definitely NOT recommended to clean quartz. You will have a dull finish in no time if you keep using that to clean it. Quartz is touted as a tough material, but it’s horribly fragile IMO. For those that don’t know quartz countertops are man made using epoxy resin, ground up quartz and other materials. Quartzite is the real quartz.

Denatured alcohol would have been the right choice here. Notice when you back away you can see the circle you sanded with that magic eraser, dulling the finish.

You basically sanded your counter. Magic erasers sand your items

NOOO DON'T DO THIS! EVER! I work for a stone shop, we do Quartz! Quartz has a finish on it that protects tue stone underneath, and a sponge like this will tear it up beyond fixing. Exposing that stone underneath can lead to cracking, take the polish out, as well as a TON of other issues. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! Use Barkeeper's Friend and/or Acetone with a dry rag. It will get anything off of your counters, guarenteed. I have yet to see it fail.

I know! The shop I work at uses that, and we also use Barkeeper's Friend on a dry rag. It does wonders!

That was not a fair demonstration as the countertop was not stained but had fresh and wet stuff and so it was easily wiped off. Best is Arm & Hammer baking powder + vinegar.

May I know what quartz is that? Looks beautiful.

This is a pour, made from resin and quartz dust, most likely originating from Vietnam. It's similar to what we use in the shop I work at. We would call this color with this vein 'Highbury'. That said, different shops call their colors and styles different things, so you may find it is called something different if it's offered at a local stone shop.

Use Barkeeper's friend next time. Magic Erasers are like sandpaper on Quartz, and can take the finish off of them, leaving it dull, unpolished, and prone to cracks and chips. I work for a counter shop, and a small dot of Barkeeper's friend on a dry rag has gotten blood stains out of our stone.
