i personally as a western kpop stan have no problem with english kpop songs because:
kpop in korean: stressed out while reading subtitles in order not to miss a single word and not pause the song every two seconds.
kpop in english: relaxed while reading subtitles, because they are only there to highlight the lyrics

When will people realise that a korean group making music in japanese/chinese/spanish/any other language is the exact same as making an english song. The only difference is that the latter category(aka the native speakers, usually americans) is entitled as fuck for some reason and thinks that their language is the center of the universe-that making music in *their* language is somehow different than any other and has a special meaning/outcome(i.e becoming "westernised")

i get annoyed too. they need to understand that these are different times now. everyone uses social media nowadays and know how everything works on the internet, and compare it to back than, it’s obvious to why they weren’t so focused on streaming since 1) technology, mostly touch screen phones, were still something new or didn’t even exist and 2) not everyone had a phone, especially a smartphone (iPhone) or laptop, since they were probably still considered a luxury.
and for the “this is the real kpop” comments: music isn’t going to sound the same all the time. it’s going to change over time according to trends and what the public likes, they have to “adjust to fit in” if you get what I mean.
Those who say that 2nd gen fans were not toxic they were completely blind.vip dragged bts ,just because in 2015 bts song charted higher than their fav and not to mention fans sometime directly attack at other idols if they dont like them.there are videos of how much toxic 2nd gen fan were.

The thing with HYBE vs Companies they adquired is that: HYBE is a brand, and everyone under the umbrella of hybe needs to be up the standards hybe has like high budget music videos, good promotions, high budget stages, high budget fashion ( anyways, everything has to be high budget) and companies like source music and pledis, don't know how to deal with that, and that's why source music have so many bills to pay.
Nah I heard source was just bad at paying off debt. Pledis and source have had good Mvs, stages, and everything else u mentioned and there isn’t any major change in quality since the acquisition. There’s no excuse for source to be messy with their finances.

The thing that kills me is gfriend fans blaming hybe for gfriends disbandment 😭 It was literally the ONLY group source had, why would hybe want a dead company with no active idols? Makes no sense

I saw this issue on Twitter and read some of the fans'' tweets, they had this preconceived notion that hybe was the reason for the group's disbandment because one of the members deleted some of her pictures on Instagram. The pictures were related to her activities at HYBE Insight or something. So, a lot of the fans suspected and 'claimed' that the member was trying to inconspicuously shading the company. Isn't more logical to question firstly the company that the group was actually under? Source Music. Like, everything bad that happens to the groups from the acquired companies, the fans blame it all on HYBE. As if HYBE is actually the one directly managing SoMu's activities. Plus, isn't illogical to assume carelessly that the deleting of pictures have a correlation to the company and state it as if it is a fact? Forming a judgment based on an insubstantial claim is just.. *sigh*
P.S. To some people's eyes, I may appear as a company stan. But, I'm not. I am only an individual who is "trying to analyze the situation first".

There's so many kpop group's music i don't like and i don't go around under UNRELATED conversation, or under videos comments or tweets praising those groups's discography telling everybody : "i personally do not like your faves music don't come for me please, their music has lost its quality don't come for me please oh my god the fans are so toxic why are you attacking me it's just my opinion it's criticism" being all dramatic with 2 replies saying that "we do not care". The overall discussion wasn't even about the opinions about the said group, so why randomly comment this ? It's clear that it's only for attention and nothing else. People love complaining and play the victims, it will give them an excuse to be falsely outraged about people that "don't accept others opinions" that no one asked for.

Wholeheartedly agree about Lia. Girl is a ok dancer at best and she’s gotta keep up with all these dance break and barely given songs that really show off not only hers but the other girls vocals. Like you said, they all can sing but they’re such a performance based group that vocals are almost like an afterthought at times

Also in Icy I like her part in the bridge but those are the only two songs that come to my mind when I think of her vocals in their songs. I really think it's a shame since she has such a beautiful voice and I hope that in future songs they'll use it like they did in Mafia in the morning.
Another thing in Itzy that I hope can change in future is the fact that Chaeryeong is the main dancer with Yeji, but we never get a center time with her in the spotlight so I hope they'll use her skills in the next comeback.

I recall nothing but positive thoughts on HYBE acquiring Source Music, more money to promote is a good thing, I would have thought HYBE had something to do with the outstanding Mago, but, who knows.
The reasons for disbandment are unknown to us mere mortals, clearly the girls were unhappy with something I wish for once that we the fans are told the truth about what really happened in any Kpop groups disbandment or hiatus etc.

They seem to be on the come-up now. They're selling albums, they charted their first album on the Billboard 200, they got "Star" to chart on U.S. Pop radio and now they're making their Japanese debut on Monday with the title song for their new album.
i honestly don't understand why everyone is so bothered with bts making english songs. like you said, most people from korea and japan don't give a fuck and think it's a good idea and everyone is the west is like "kpop is being westernized" and "its marketing for the west", A. they don't need to make english songs to get popular in the west, they're already massive in the west, so that doesn't hold up as an argument and B. I feel like kpop has always been more western than people think since so many big artists that are popular influence kpop idols and companies are from the west. I also don't like how other artists and groups have lots of different english songs and remakes/versions of originally korean or japanese songs but bts are the only ones who get hate for it. I'm sure that other groups do get hate for english songs and remakes but it's so much less than bts. nowadays I feel like people just want a reason to shit all over bts and their hard work to create music. I personally don't like english kpop songs but I don't go on the internet and shit all over those songs, I just stick to what I like and I genuinely don't give a fuck whether kpop groups make english songs, let them be for gods sake.

Kpop has ALWAYS been inspired heavily by western music, just listen to 1st and 2nd gen hit songs, and you will hear so many 2000’s and 2010’s beats/melodies and even concepts that are heavily Western. Many Western producers produce songs for kpop Idols and groups, many western songs are sampled in hit kpop songs. Kpop’s origins have always had a western influence. People saying it’s more western clearly don’t read into Kpop’s history.

True. Just think of how 1st gen K-Pop groups is inspired by Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls. When groups released a Japanese song, they don't make a fuss. But it's a big deal for them if a group released an English song. Like duh, English is a universal language.
Yep. And when SUJU 2nd gen had songs with Spanish they praised them. SUJU has a huge following in Mexico so it makes sense for them to use Spanish in their songs. Same with BTS. Huge following in the States so it makes sense to do English.
The argument that most people use to defend solo stans , “solo stanning is fine as long as they don’t hate on the other members” is utter bullshit. As if solo stans aren’t inherently antis of the member they solo stan by going against their wishes (by wanting them to go solo or victimizing grown people) and ignoring their words when it doesn’t fit their victimizing narrative.

Liking a particular member of a group and keeping up with only them is fine. But the line between solo stans and toxic solo stans are very thin. I was referring to the solo stans that you see on stan twitter, the ones that don’t just stan a member on their own but push their weird agendas. Those people are huge in number and they are the root of a LOT of problems in the fandom (I was talking about bts solos). If you are not a toxic solo stan then you shouldn’t feel attacked but we can’t welcome solo stans to thrive in fandom spaces because they will cause problems and a few good ones are not worth it.

I think there are as much toxic solo stans as toxic group stans. We tend to demonize way more solo stans than ot[insert number] and I don't quite understand why to be honest. You probably experienced only toxic solo stans, but I assure you being a solo fan doesn't necessarily mean hating on the other members and wanting to see our favorite idol leave their group and go solo. Jin and V have openly stated in the past that they were disappointed with the amount of lines that they were getting. Thankfully, the line distributions have improved and they do have control of it. My point is, it wasn't just solo stans that were disappointed with it. The boys were too.

I honestly think armys are the fandom that do the best job at keeping solos in check. The fandom is huge, and it's normal to learn the more basic and stereotype things at first and as you deep in learn that somethings you learned at the beginning aren't true or completely true. Dumb people are going to be dumb either way, if someone doesn't want to learn and they take wathever they heard first as the absolute truth, then that's on them and there's nothing to be done. The fact that armys end up learning that those first things are not true, it's evidence enough in my opinion that armys don't let solos get away with shit, in other fandoms those wannabe facts are considered facts no matter how long you are on the fandom.

Kakao M has a monopoly, the big 3 had an iron grip on just about every facet of the entertainment world (from print media to broadcasting and so on) but they have no issue with that. They need to confront the actual reason they hold bh and hybe to a different standard than the actual string pullers in Korea, just because hybe out earns them doesn't mean they control the industry

I've never personally seen stays do that, just say that they think if they collabed they would die (or something like that) but I don't doubt it's happened. I feel like with skz rapline, they aren't referring to the whole "rapline" (lead rappers a main) but only jisung and changbin because honestly they are the only ACTUAL rappers. That being said, stays need to realize that it's okay that they aren't on that level (yet). I think changbin and han are phenomenal and could get there one day, but you CANNOT set them up against seniors while they are only about 3 years into being a group, with MUCH LESS experience, while also being years younger than them. Just like how NamYoonSeok werent always on the level they are now. As a solo stan there’s nothing wrong with it as long as u arent disrespecting the other members.
In regards of hybe, people are dumb and like to trash talk in general, and even more about shit they have no idea about. Hybe is now their punching bag, but this people will always do the same thing, just different targets. No point wasting energy on them, it's sad but a percentage of people are apparently very dumb online and we have to live with it. Hybe is a company, they aren't perfect, but they seem to truly cafe about their artists and the careers of the artists and also, very important, have shown growth and that they learn from their mistakes. Actual mistakes they don't need you pointing out, idols can very much stand up for themselves.
All this witch hunt against hybe is doing, it's preventing actual discussions and criticism to occur. For example, I find the way the represented gfriend in the new building video sexist, they are the only group that don't speak and are just there to look pretty, or at least it's what I interpreted. Since this is a minor occurrence and not the norm in hybe, I don't think it's a huge problem, but I could never start a rational conversation about it because people are absolutely stupid.
Also, what hybe did for your favs, was give them money and opportunities, their old labels did everything else, so cry somewhere else.

For me personally, no rap line has ever come near to NamGiSoek.....I mean they made the masterpiece Ddaeng and I have never seen that level of wordplay in any kpop based song. BTS' rap line's wordplay is out of this world and I haven't seen any other rap line coming near to what they are at least in the kpop scene (except Zico).
Dont forget the the masterpiece that is UGH as well.

At enhypen solo stans i do agree they blew out the situation and attacked all the members when literally we saw them. Since i-land when they were not even in a group and they get along well.... They literally started attacking all the members of enhypen and called them bullies and how they are bullying the group like some just saw a twitter thread jumped on conclusions and started making videos about it
People just hate hybe for no reason... Few days ago when people got news about how hybe wanted to buy some stocks in sm ent. People really get salty about that (sm stan,pledis stan etc) ...and when news came jyp bought that stock everyone okay with that....I dont know what's people problem with hybe

I agree skz raps might not be as good as bts but heres how i see it
Bts are the best in 3rd gen (kpop overall too) and skz are the best amongst the 4th gen
So when 3rd gen starts being a bit less active and 4th gen gets more expirience, i think skz will be at the top
Both are really good. And it depends on y’all preferences to find who’s better. But y’all gotta admit, it’s not a fair comparison. BTS have 8 years of showing their rapline skills. Through a lot of mixtapes, solo rap albums etc.
while SKZ only been in the industry for 3 years and never had a rap solo albums. So they’re very limited songs to proved more on their amazing rap skills.
