the footage on Hey Pocky Way is incredible! watching Brent up close from this era is special. Jerry dancing and grinning, so nice! the camera angles are superb!
I’ve always thought it was a great move when Jerry moved over closer to Brent, and post coma etc that (-Brent & Jerry-) the two really became a force! They seemed to have a growing and great musical bond and Brent was playing with a creative vengeance like he owned the place and was like a secret weapon on vocals. Like two mischievous kids passing riffs and grins like a inside joke. Perfect band playing perfectly.
I was at this show and it was spectacular. Jerry was in such a wonderful mood. You could feel it all the way around the amp. Family was always thick at shoreline. This show was broadcast live on a radio station in the parking lot on huge speakers playing from the steal your face bus. So for everyone who could not get in could still dance (in what was then a dirt parking lot) getting filthy having the time of our lives. I cherish every ounce of every show I have seen. I lost count but I was there with 3 day tickets to the Vegas shows right before he passed. Saddest day of my life. He is missed by me every moment of every day. I love The Grateful Dead and all the family that went with it. God bless. Enjoy the show!!🥰🥳🤩😘
Cheers! Added the official 10/2 link and the version of this show in one video and with setlist. Charlie Miller audio. All three belong together. The 2 nights and a lazy man version with easy setlist accessories until the setlist is added to this one.
What a treat. 87 was about the time the dead starters to be cool. Those of us who followed them hears earlier noticed the influx of newbies. Good or bad ,more exposure and certainly more pressure for the boys . regardless. I love all you heads out there and you newbies do some research. Look at the history. The bus left a long time ago. Maybe you can catch it. See ya later Brent and jerry and the rest. Looking forward to our chat on the other side. For now ill be a lost sailor. Bobby will understand. Peace
Ha! I was one of those newbies, 16 years old, at this show, birthday night. It's been a long, strange trip since then. Just went to Dead & Company at the sphere. It was amazing it had been 30 years since I've been to anything Dead. Now I, too, appreciate Stella blue, Black muddy river & of course, Lost sailor! Newbies become oldies too fast! Dead forever 🤙🏼
I'm pretty sure this was recorded video from what was on the video screens at the show. Of course, it was a long time ago and I suffer from some self-inflected short-term memory issues but I was there and I'm pretty friggin' sure I'm right.
One of many at the "Garbage Dump"
This one was my Birthday.
Still alive and well @ 70.
RIP Johnny Winter
It was my birthday day too. Amazing show! Now I'm 52. Good times brother.

Yes, you are correct short-term Grasshopper!
fantastic
notice a synch issue Candyman, Masterpiece, West LA. is it just the youtube output or the uploaded version is off a little as well?
Yes you are right about that. I noticed it as well. Still was and is a wonderful show. Dancing all over my living room.
Awesome !!! 🌈😎🌈
Love the Adams Family!
Ripper. Go Jerry!
Jerry was at peak health here. If peak health is described as the midpoint between both diabetic comas. God I miss him.
Was this the show that was televised?
It was the Summer Solstice 6/21/89 show that was Pay Per View TV.
Hardee’s chicken is rippin!
5-2-87 video then I can die satisfied.
