11:41 we could argue all day about the meaning of the word "conservative", but seeing people as cogs in the machine and families be damned is not conservatism, is neoliberalism it's sheep's clothing.
Yeah I mean I want everyone of every belief, religion, creed, code, politics to always know there is nothing exclusive here but I also know that sometimes invites insane chaos in the comments
As far as car dealers in Japan is concerned, they do something that I've never seen in the West, that is completely close all operations on Wednesday, or sometimes Tuesday and Wednesday as their 'weekend'. Whereas in Australia where I am from, most dealers are open 7 days a week.
In Japan, I wonder if it's more stoic vs. passive rather than left or right. My father in law in Japan is 73 and he goes to bed around 8pm, gets up at 1.30am for running, then shower and back to bed before waking up again at 7.00am. Extremely stoic approach to life but emotionally is kind of flat.
The very old school way of life brought up by fathers who had a sort of Bushido or classic Buddhist up bringing are often taught that temperance and extreme balance is what makes a man a “manly man.” Most times I would say the western version of being sigma and stoic is BS but the Japanese version isn’t meant to make you look badass or cool but is more concerned with not getting too emotional in order to make your most rational decision
I found many younger people in Japan liked Trump. But many of the elders disliked Trump. I had one person ask me who I was voting for, and I told her my Taiwanese friend supports Trump, because he believes Trump would protect Taiwan better. She said she was worried about Trump.
Really? In Osaka I found the elderly were pretty big trump fans cause they loved how he talked about china and North Korea. I can’t speak for Tokyo crowds, but the country side folk in my family were either apathetic or trump fans especially the farther south towards kyu shu I got.
My generation and younger seems overall apathetic, but the majority of old past Shinzo Abe loyalist and major corpos seem to be very on board with trump. I will say thought that the crowds in places like amemura, shinsaibashi, dotonburi, and most of my old stomping grounds were either apathetic or not a fan of trump. Or some like me who don’t trust any politics or politicians at all on the left of right.
Misleading would imply I didn’t cover the topic in the title. I did. Was the most hot button topic used in the title to attract views? Yeah, UA-camrs make videos to get views. Is this a shocking concept?
I found Japan to be a very interesting mix of both left and right all at the same time from a American perspective. Being a centrist or leans slightly left and did not support either Trump or Harris I find Japan to be almost perfect for me as many things fit how I feel with a few important key exceptions. The Xenophobia is very real in Japan sadly and the culture of over work is also real, both of those issues annoy me. But with so many overwhelming good aspects I honestly really love it there. I would ultimately have to categorize Japan as Centrist taking aspects from both sides if I had to place them on a American political spectrum. I guess a independent voter if a voter LOL. As for the overwork and low efficiency I want to start and run my own business so I can both improve efficiency and set my own work culture in my business since I would be the owner. I would want to find a good work and life balance for the employees with mandatory vacation time, while keeping the occasional after work drinking time that is common as that does sound like a fun way to get to know people.
Yeah agree completely. For me the most refreshing thing is you can talk politics, religion, philosophy, and other hot topics and no one gets heated or defensive. They listen, will sometimes say I agree or don’t agree then calmly state their POV. No one gets bent out of shape for having a different outlook.
Japan feels like a safe haven from politics to me. Of course it exists here but it’s seen as more of a hobby than your entire identity. You're not required to have an opinion on everything here. Which is good, because some of my opinions are not very well thought out in the first place.
You know me. I’m not a fan of politicians on the left or the right. I love America and my fellow Americans on the left or right but I’m registered as unaffiliated party wise.
Japan is deeply homophobic too. The US, especially in moderate and left wing areas of the US are some of the best places in the world to be LGBTQ it is way ahead of Japan.
5:51 that is unfathomably cool. I've seen some of those broken pots fixed with gold and the look is hard to describe except with the old "shibui".

1:49 LoL your resignation is almost comical my friend: you're all welcome,I love you all, but also I'm pretty sure I just opened up a war zone here 🤣
Yeah I mean I want everyone of every belief, religion, creed, code, politics to always know there is nothing exclusive here but I also know that sometimes invites insane chaos in the comments
@unrested the comments are pretty chill though. Haven't seen any major artillery going off.
2:49 sounds like "A Well Respected Man" by The Kinks
Hi, Scott. Great video.
Thanks man!

From when I was in Japan Japanese people were either indifferent towards Trump or just dislike him. Not hate but simply just didn’t like him.

Video title was a bit misleading don't u think? Lol

The real question is, "Does Unrested love or hate Trump?" 😅
You know me. I’m not a fan of politicians on the left or the right. I love America and my fellow Americans on the left or right but I’m registered as unaffiliated party wise.
@@unrested smart man at the end of the day their all corrupted to the core.
What gets done in a 12 hour day?
Efficient levels of exhaustion and overwork are produced on an epic scale
@@unrested aka 'looking busy'
Kind of a misleading title. We both know that supporting Trump isn't a matter of "conservative values" that Japan might share, but a cult following.
your heart tattoo is cool as fuck
Thanks! It’s from greys anatomy book but the ventricles are labeled with the 7 deadly sins
It could be because the US has a lot of christian ideas in regards to lgbtq.
Very true. Our Christian/ Judaic society may be the very different origin that gets in our crawl.

first.
