***** No problem. Aye, it is a dream to see them in person. :) Always next time, the B-17 sits on Duxford airfield most of the time and is a beauty to behold. :D
Epic show, I get so pumped watching those beauties. Did you get a chance to get up close after they landed? Over here, we have the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. If you have the coin you can book a flight on a Lancaster. I see it most summers flying low over my neighborhood. It's awesome and a little bit intimidating at the same time.
h0meb0dhi I did indeed. Unfortunately my video camera does not take very good photos. I shall have to upload some of the photos my Dad took and pass the link onto you. :) We also had the opportunity to speak to the pilot of the BF 109 G-4. He was very well versed in the English language (for a German pilot I believe) and I shall give you some of the replies he provided below: Q: How "original" is this aircraft? A: It is a blend of parts ranging from 1943-2014. All of the main fuselage parts you see from the cockpit forwards (i.e. towards the engine) including the cockpit section are from 1943-1944. Meanwhile, the wings are new (i.e. 2000 onwards) and were constructed by a Spanish company for this plane. The tail section however has been reconstructed multiple times since the 1960s. During a number of landings the plane came down on its tail too hard and needed repairs/a rebuild. Q: Is it a pleasure to fly? A: Yes, it is quite the plane. Q: Are there many "original" German fighters still flying to date? A: In Germany we usually run an airshow which features a Me 262 and a Me 163. Although please be aware we only glide the Me 163 in rather than actually fly it on its engine. --- Wow! It must be quite expensive to undertake that experience...still, I would love to enjoy that one day. Maybe I shall visit Canada in the coming years. :)
tx141TX Ah, good stuff! Looking forward to those pics. I can imagine those planes need a lot of care to stay airworthy and it was nice of that pilot to hang out and answer questions. Sounds like a dream job. A one hour ride on a Lancaster will set you back $3000 CAD (around 1500 GBP). They also have a B-25, Fairey Firefly, P-40N Kittyhawk and a P-51D Mustang among others available for booking. Check out warplane.com if you're interested. If you do decide to drop by, you'll have a lot of fans and friends here who'll make you feel right at home.:)
It looks like the planes propellers are moving really slowly like the Me109's propeller as it's taking off. The spitfire in the middle at 26:40 it's propeller doesn't seem to move at all.
Much Propaganda there. Calling the Luftwaffe "the agressor"? That is hilarious. Maybe he should go back to school and research who declared war on who.
Philipp U. Apologies Philipp. I completely understand where you are coming from here. We tried to find a spot where the speaker system was not active, but it was active all along the runway. I apologize for any offence I may have caused with this. :(
He's really throwing that 109 around, nice!
650Thunderbird :D
Wow, I gotta say I'm a little jelly. Glad you got to go see this.
Big thanks for sharing this footage. What a final! Just beautiful.
bakters No problem. :)
Aye it was an incredible ending; the addition of "Jerusalem" over the top made it so emotional.
Oh, that looked like great fun.
I'm glad you got to enjoy it with your dad.
Angry Nerd It was incredible!
Thank you. :)
A great video and a great day, keep them coming son.
gibson1421 Thank you Dad, I will do my best. :)
Quality time with your dad, beautiful WWII warbirds, must have been a great day!
Blastmaster1972 Aye it was, and now we look forward to Duxford! :D
Thanks for sharing this cool event! Nothing like the sound of prop planes flying by. Shame the B-17 couldn't show up.

Daimbler-Benz enginesound is amazing.
TheOberst1990 Aye, the plane I went there for. :)
Damn rain, I'm going to have a word with god for this!
Jinseual If you could please, and tell him/her/it to rebuild a LaGG-3 whilst he/she/it is at it! :D
great vid, thanks for posting it, was at work just down the road, could hear them all day flying but only caught a few glimpses.
Simon Ward No problem and thank you. :)
That is a shame. Do you intend to go to Duxford this year for the show?
I am going to Duxford yes. Hoping to arrange meeting with a few friends from WT too :-)
I take it you'll be attending?
Simon Ward I and my family hope to attend. Which day, if I may ask? :D
Really wish i was there...
achilleas bakis There's always Duxford Air Show. :)

Lovely birds. And those graphical settings look amazing! What rig are you playing this on? ;-)
tojiroh Haha! On Ultra Low (its a graphical glitch). :P
Very Nice!
Troy Johnson Thank you. :)

Jinseual Unfortunately that is a combination of the limited frame rate of my camera, and the speed at which those propellors are rotating! :)

Sorry, can´t watch this.

Philipp U. You *could* try muting the sound and playing your favorite military march instead. And, you know, just enjoy the planes?
tx141TX , also tojiroh , yes, thank you. Of course the film as such is amazing.
You're welcome. Despite the tragic circumstances of that time, they are amazing machines to behold, aren't they? :-)
