This is ace, I know it wasn’t about the walking but what distance did you do? Also how far is it to travel and is the bothy always open?

The full circuit is 7.5 miles. It’s relatively flat which means it should be completed in about 3.5 hours. There was deep snow in places and icy which slowed our pace and I was stopping for video and photos. The wind was high. It’s about. 15 minute drive from the town of Ballater which is stunning and lovely for a meal or ice cream. Bothy is always open and has a plentiful supply of firewood and there are candles. You can easily stay in the Bothy. I suspect it would be busier in the summer months but most people who go to these places are off the same mindset and as a result are lovely and friendly.
