Just turned 54,000 miles on my first set rotated 5 tires every 5k easy number to remember running at 37 psi. I’m guessing at least another rotation left or more. Just received my next set ready for install when needed happy overall with the tires no issues balancing 37 12.50 17
They aint a horrible tire, but they are far from flawless... Me, Jordon and Chris all have been running them for roughly the same amount of time. We all agree with the points on this video.
Thanks for the honest review. We have just over 20k miles on our 35 in Patagonias. I do a 5 tire rotation about every 6k miles. I had issues with getting an even wear until I found out from Milestar that I wasn't running enough air in them. I was down to 26psi, now I am at 33psi cold. you wouldn't think that 5psi would make a difference, but boy did it. No more cupping ever other lug on the outer edges. They are still quiet on the road and ours still do great off road. We do a combo of trail, mud and rock crawling with our JLUR. I only air down between 16 and 18 PSI as i do not want to tire to come loose from the rim like the stock KMs did. Will we get another set when these wear out, not sure. My wife liked the look of the Cooper SST Pros but loves how quiet the Patagonia tires are. Thank you for all the videos! Keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoyed it! AND YES these tires need to be around that 32 psi spot for the longevity of the tire. They aint a bad tire, and I will always disagree when someone says they are junk. Long as that price point stays low, good buy. Though I have been being told, Milestar has upped their prices.
@@NYC-WRX 36 felt like I was driving on basket balls. You can try and see how the ride is and how they wear. If you go to low they will start to cup, wear every other lug on the outside edges. 33 cold for me heats up to 35/36 where 36 would heat up ab be at 38/40.
I’m about to get new tires. This week. I’m not concerned too much on cost m if they are good. Would you buy these again or get some thing for 300 or 400 if performance was top priority and someone else was buying?
I have 35 / 12.50 / 15’s Patagonia MT’s. The most weight any of my one single tires took was 3.5 ounces total. All 5 of mine balanced out beautiful. I used a snap on balancing machine. I have 15,000 miles on mine and 14/32 tread left. They are still balanced perfectly. At 70 mph I have zero issues. Off road I think they are excellent. Im very happy with his tire and will definitely run them again. I’m using them on a 2001 TJ.
Thanks for your post. Im shopping around because my preferred trail grapplers have been on backorder for 10 months and I can't wait any longer. These are one of the only 37s available right now
That was weird math. More useful would have been "I've used 7/32 out of a total 19/32 in 10k miles. That's 7/(19-3) or 43.75% of the useful life. This means that I should expect to get 10k/.4375= 22,800 miles out of them over the life of the tire. That's what people want to know.
Thanks for the honest review. I currently have BFG ATs 35x12.5 17s on my JLUR I love them But I’m planning on moving up to 37s and the Patagonia was on top of my list until now. The elephant in the room is What tires are you going with next?
Current tire on Bromance is still not ready to release lol.. but video should be soon 🙌😂 I like my ko2’s was a good tire... just not cut out for the stupid things I like to do
I’m running Cooper STT Pro’s in 37” on my JLUR. I only have about 5,000 mi on them (mostly highway but some lite offroading). They arent very loud, they ride pretty good but kinda hard to balance. As of right now I would buy them again but time and miles will tell the story if I ever get to go back to Co, Utah and other parts west of the Mississippi River... I ran a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers on my truck. Got close to 45,000 miles out of them. My daughter got 55,000 miles out of hers. They got pretty noisy before it was all said and done.
Appreciate an actual honest review. So many on here are shilling these things when you know they are getting them for free. I almost went with them on my JL but they are definitely ugly and I don't trust a Chinese tire. I wound up going with Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's on my Jeep. They are quiet and look awesome.
I think it’s Indonesian? Lol well I’m glad to hear I enjoyed the video.. it’s not a bad tire.. but definitely leaves more to be desired by myself... My buddy just bought MT Baja bosses for his jl... damn they look good...
For everyone I've come to learn, for these tires you need to make sure the valve stem is in line with a marked red dot on the tire when they are installed. Helps with balancing.... I've heard of a lot of people having trouble because they weren't installed right. Cheers!
Iv heard the same... tire shops should know this... as the yellow/ red dots are not a new concept... I learned it after I had them installed and after i had already went wheeling and rubbed off all the dots...
20k on mine, and it’s just about time. I’ve been running them at 25 psi, so they’re cupped like crazy. Not sure what I want to replace them with. They’ve been perfect off road for me here in Florida.
Had the pats for about a year now. They are horrible in wet areas. I wheeled them in NV. As extreme as NV offers and they stick and crawl up anything in the trails as long as no rain or snow. Balanced them just fine. Did not had to use beads just some weights on the wheel. I have beadlocks Aire down to 6-8 psi they work great. Air up to 33-35 and drive good on road. Cheap ass tire though. They wear fast and have to rotate every 3k miles. Next buy 40ds Nitto trailgraps #sendit!!!!
I won’t go below 10psi without bead locks... to many times I get to the point where I’m. Gonna pop a bead... Thts a headache I’m not willing to deal with 😂 I’m glad to hear u had good luck with urs!
Thanks brother... again.. not a horrible tire and plenty of people out there will like em... love em... These just ain’t doing for me.. 🙌 glad u enjoyed the cideo
Straight up review. I put these on my JL Rubicon in 37's. There were no balancing issues at all. The tire shop was surprised how little it took to balance them. I run 35 36 lbs on the road and like you say nice driving. 19-20 mpg on the road and 8th gear is still being used. My wheeling is lightweight compared to you mainly trails with some obstacles. So far a good cheap tire for me.
Yea, it’s not a horrible tire... just not what I consider a great tire... u get both sides with these.. “they’re junk” or “they are the worlds greatest” Thanks for watching, glad u enjoyed 🙌
Great review! I picked up a set of 35s as they were a screaming deal and I did not want to sink big money into 37s yet. Very happy with them thus far on road, hopefully can get to a trail in the next month and really see how they perform.
Yea! As mentioned.. it’s not a bad tire! Am I upset that I bought em... I’m glad I did... now I have real opinion to offer to someone who asks...’ U will be pleased with ur tires... even more so if u got em cheap. 🙌🙌
Are these the version 2? I bought the first version and my Only Complaint was after they wore down to 50%, they we're like driving on ICE when the Road was wet and hitting Crack Sealer.
Great info, I was thinking about buying a set. I have 37's nitto terra grappler G2 which have been great, but in the mud they were about useless. I still want to get a low cost tire and I'm thinking about the Radar Renegade RT or Nexen Roadian MTX
We just got some 285/75/r17 KO2 10 ply tires and got to say they are excellent for us. As a family Jeep, tire noise was a concern for us and the KO2 was so much better than what came off. If your not going to go mudding like crazy and want some great traction on rocks and dirt these tires are awesome. And because it's a 10ply your going to get awesome strength and longevity off-road. Got to say love how they look and perform for our needs. So if your looking for a more mild tire that is excellent for on road daily driving and excellent for off road trails I think this is one of the better options out there. That and they balance easy so no worries of wearing out suspension prematurely! FYI that is a 34in(ish) tire so not as big as these guys but in my opinion a good option for weekend warriors.
Your crawling rocks with 1200 doller mud tires. That's the most brutal thing u can put tires through. Your jeep looks perfect and tires still look good. I would say it's an amazing tire. Now the question is they're mud tires so how do they perform for what they are made for mud?
Good honest review Mo, thank you. With the lift I'll be going to 37s this year after putting some more miles on the original tires and saving $ for this next set. Like the red jeep, following them for a bit and you have to know / acknowledge their position and the went all in on a unique set up, glad they are doing well. They also have made clarifying comments like the valve stem location relative to the dot in the tire and that on the road they ride center stripe and not full width contact. The yellow banana is running them as well but that is for specific conditions and work-related purposes but any input ... Valid input is good to have.
LB are great people.. I don’t blame them one bit for their career decisions... We can only wish to be as big of a channel as they are... we both love them and they have our respect... that being said... we are allowed to have different opinions 😂🙌. Thanks for watching, I’m glad u enjoyed! 🙌
Interesting. I've had 3 sets of these all in different sizes used on 4 different vehicles, and my experience has been the polar opposite. Mine ride better than other brands, balance perfectly, and go 40,000+ easily. Hmm...
Yours are on a full size truck that I’m sure doesn’t get wheeled every weekend in sharp New Mexico rock. I’m waiting on my 3rd set (warranty replacement) in 14,000 miles due to balancing issues, chunking and massive feathering but of course I wheel mine as well. For the record the 3rd set will not be going onto the Jeep as I’m done with this brand.
My 38s now have 5k miles and one didn't balance well. The tires techs didn't notice the small orange dots on the sidewalls for whatever reason. Regardless, your evaluation is 100% spot-on in comparison to Lite Brites. I subscribed to your channel and unsubscribed from theirs as a result. Thanks for the honesty and integrity, I wish that you made this video in November 2019.
Unfortunately by the time I learned about the dot on this tire... I had already scrubbed them off on the rocks lol... so it was a no go for me. I’m glad to hear we got u as a subscriber, I’m sure ur next set will be much better!
i like honest tire reviews! and congrats on 5k subs. it's growing!!!!! I was thoroughly impressed with my JL on the 35 inch toyo mtrs. i'm mulling over 37s but i don't know that i really want to make the jump yet. i hit bottom of jeep in Moab a few times pretty hard but that was because i took crap lines or wasn't paying attention. (scenery got me a few times lol). once my OEM lift wears out I might go 3.5 (instead of 2 now), which will clear the way for lots of options.
Lol I got a review on tht lift coming up soon also 😂 yah Thanks.. the subs keep steadily growing... been very pleased with all of it! Moab is amazing... I need to go back! U throw the right parts in... u should be fine with 37s.. but totally understand the concern anyone would have. Gotta keep tht jeep running smooth! 🙌🙌
Wow, thank you! Finally an honest review about the Milestars! I didn't know such a thing existed lmao. There are so many better tires out there. People that like to rock crawl spend thousands on lifts, lockers, winches etc. Why cheap out on perhaps the biggest factor in performance. Watch a rig something like Cooper STT pros walk an obstacle that the guy with Patagonia had to send it on and risk breaking. Especially on wet rocks, they are terrible. Serious rigs deserve serious tires.Okay, end of rant lol.
Iv been seeing it too.. everyone crawling... me pedal all the way down bumping... I’m ready to try another tire.. I know it will fair much better for me in the future.
Thanks for being honest. I have them on my FJ. But they are 34s and it's an FJ. I love them but you can only do so much rock crawling with an FJ. And didn't have any balancing problems with 34s. I also have 8k on them. So maybe they are good for lighter Duty off roading.
I think so... I won’t lie... I don’t do light duty stuff often... but if a mt is only designed to handle/ hold up to mild terrain... 😬 if personally take an AT. exactly what they are made for... and will last MUCH longer But I appreciate you watching!! 🙌 really!! Thank you!!
I have a set of 31's Pata's on my XJ with about 4k miles, so far so good. Bought all 4 for less than $600 so I'm not gonna complain if I only get 25k miles out of them. If so, I will probably just go with a different brand next time.
Everyone been telling me the price has been going up in these. Though I didn’t hate em... definitely didn’t love em... I don’t plan on buying them again.
Like I said.. it’s not a horrible tire.. I abuse my tires and I don’t ever hide tht.. Iv heard from others if u take good care of ur tires u can get about 30k out of em... performance has been degrading offroad... yea... but they still get it done.. I just taking longer now 😂 What I need to start doing to saving $50 a month so when my next set wears I can buy what I want lol
I had a friend get a set of 37s about 2 months ago … he has not wheeled with them yet !! But will soon … I hope he has better luck 😳 I run cooper stt pros … I wheel them at 15psi and those things latch on to anything !!! Thank you for the honest review … I was thinking of getting those next !!
Like I said, they work GREAT them first 1000 miles off-road.. OR if your friend has beadlocks,,,, LOL Iv been airing them down to 10 PSI everytime I off-road,,,, and they just don't grip anything like they used to. Some people are telling me that should be expected at 10k miles.... Ill see what the next brand brings me lol. Im being told they are jumping up in price.....
Your experience with this tire is way off base, and everyone in the comments that thinks they finally found a truthful review just because you had a bad experience is sad. The truth is the are a great tire. I and many others have had very good experience with this tire. they balance easy, they do not ride stiff when they are new. Honestly they probably are not the best tire for your application. Dessert rock crawling in the Maob isn't really their strong suit, but they probably preform fairly well. They are a soft offload MUD tire. To expect 50000 miles on an offload mud tire is a bit wishful. They are a soft rubber compound, with a Q speed rating (99MPH) so you driving down the highway at 80mph is going to chew them up obviously. Honestly the amount of wear you have is a bit more than average for this tire, but there are many things that could have contributed to it, that is at no fault to the tire. When looking at your tires close up you can see the wear from the tires slipping. think of how many times you spun the tires while climbing rocks. Milestar Patagonia M/T perform perfectly as intended, but 50000 miles while taking the offload punishment you put them through ...not so much. There is no single tire that is perfect in every application. But for you application and environment, there is probably a better tire. Its all about selecting the right tire for the application, and if mileage was a deciding factor, you chose the wrong tire for your application. You can spend more money and you can get a better performing tire for YOUR application. this will not hold true for everyone. As the saying goes, "your mileage may vary". Happy Trails
I’ve heard the 39” BFG KM3 is basically identical in size to this tire. Have you seen some to compare? Otherwise in 38x13.50 theres an open country but I think that’s only on an 18” wheel
I run the Milestar in a 35. Probably have about 5k on them and leaving from TN to Az this week. We shall see how they perform, so far I love them. Also on beadlocks and I air down to about 7psi when off road.
I loved em too the first handful of times on the rocks... they just GRIPPED.. sadly... they don’t grip anywhere close how they used to now... just requiring much more send... sending works... but it will just lead to breaking at some point 😂 enjoy ur trip friend! And be safe!!
🤮 Patagonia….. HEAVY UA-cam campaign to give free tires to all the large names out there…. Which gave people a better view of them…. I haven’t met anyone who has paid for a set legit happy with them.
I'm glad you posted your review. My TJ will mostly be on road so these will be a big no for me considering better tires don't cost much more. I will probably buy the Falken wildpeak at3w that I have on my F150. They have definitely surprised me on my truck and I have only needed 4x4 once and that was to pull out a buddy. He had an old beater suburban stuck in about 6-8 inches of mud
I mean... it’s not a horrible tire... but definitely not as amazing on rocks as I was hoping... it’s just... ok... most people don’t wheel the way I do either... so I’m sure most wont have the same issues I had with em...
Cheap they are, inexpensive they are not. Like you mentioned, what are you saving if they last 1/3 as long as a better tire ? I paid around $1,800 for 5, 35” MTR’s , Great tires and made in the USA 🇺🇸 also I pulled my stock km2’s at 30,000 miles. Rotated them every 2,500 and they still look awesome, could go another 30,000.
Yea, that what people have been telling me. Thats a shame, that was the biggest appeal to them, and is what got me to invest in a set.... well,,,, out of my hands I suppose... Hope to see them come back down in price at some point.
I got Milestar Patagonia 35” A/Ts. What PSI would you suggest I run these for comfortable interstate ride? The first 500 miles have been extra stiff. The installer filled them to max 65 psi. (This is for a 2018 JLU).
I got 37's MS Muds on my Gladiator... No major complaints except they could look better and I shake a bit over 65MPH... I don't do rock crawling with my Gladiator so "It awight"
Yeah Kevin swears by 8 psi. I think I'm done with the Pats now. I've had a few sets and they're awesome tires at the old pricing. I paid $207 for 37x12.5x17 each for my first 2 sets. Then almost a year ago I was out and saw 38x13.5x17 for $179 per tire and bought 5. All this said they work well and are quiet when new. Now 12,000 miles later and they're a little loader (no big deal) but over 50% gone. At the old $179 - $210 per tire I was ok with them being a 20,000 mile tire. Today the best deal you're going to get retail is $300 per tire. Doesn't make sense now. I can pay $100 more and get Toyos and get 40-50K out of them. I'm not a UA-camr getting free shit or deep discounts and I pay for them myself. I'm in the market this very minute for a new set and hate having to go back down to the 37s.
Ooof... 300+ a tote seems to be over stretching imho... I guess I should of looked up current values when I made the video.. I was basing it on when I bought em... 300 a tire I go elsewhere for my tire. After I bought my set... I started seeing people pay less then. What I did... like u 😂 tht was frustrating for sure lol 😬😬😬
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD I do have a contact at Milestar who is selling me another set of 38s at a deal that's as good as my last set so I'll be getting them shipped to me next week. Hopefully someone else jumps on the 38 sizing but it's unlikely. Another thing about the milestars is they run truer to the size on the tire. Some tires can be 1-1.5" smaller.
@@80smxpro41 BFG is horrible with that crap LOL, I don't understand the logic of it. LOL. I agree, 38 will. continue to be that odd size, shame I think its perfect for the JL on 3.5 of lift.... side by side though, Mistys MTr's don't look that much smaller then the pats,,,, noticeably thinner thou
Great Vid!!! I put a set of 32's on my 4Runner and my bud put 35's on JLU. I took mine straight to Hot Springs Arkansas ORP and they did great. I now have about 5k miles and have a trip to Moab planned. My buddy will be offroad first time on his in Moab. So I guess we will see how they do. It will be the third type of tire I will have had in Moab so I will be able to see difference.
I had made some amazingly impressive climbs with these my first few times out with em... was really impressed.... but considering how they were to now... the performance has decreased like crazy for me... Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for watching!!
Thanks! Glad to hear I enjoyed it! 🙌 They are not a bad tire... I still get up My obstacles... just taking much more time.. effort and bump... routinely bumping ... just gonna lead to breaks They just ain’t a great tire... 🤷♂️
Good review 👍 A couple of things I have learned about Milestar Pats: run them at the mfg. suggested tire pressure 37 PSI as they are supposed to ride on the crown of the tire. Mount the yellow dot on the valve stem for best balancing. I am on 2nd set strarted w/37’s and ran them around 25 PSI and started to notice mild cupping around 10K still about 60% tread left and didn’t install them in the yellow dot. Sold those and went to 38’s with above mentioned corrections. Both set balanced vey well with minimal balancing weights. Well see if they wear better. My biggest issue has been getting them to mount easily on Method 105 beadlocks as they have needed to be shaved down on the inner tire for the beadlock ring to fit.
Glad I enjoyed it... Iv try to keep it at 32 psi as Thts what milestar said... the yellow dot... I won’t lie.. no idea if they mounted them the stem to em or not... u would think a tire shop should know how to mount em lol... I don’t hate the milestar... long as u can find them cheap.. it’s a good buy... but these tires leave more to be desired by myself 🙌 but thanks for watching!
I figured they are worth a try. I had Cooper STT pros and loved them in 315’s. Had 45k miles on them and they were ready to go. Then, I went up to 37” Pat’s for less then $1k for 5😳. As long as they don’t suck horribly and last 20-25k it was worth it for me at this time. I wanted to get the Mickey Thompson m/t’s or KM3’s but almost double the price. Will wait for a good deal and have them ready in a year or so. Time will tell. Thanks for your honest review👍
Thanks for the honest review! I’ve been on the fence about these for the gladiator rubicon. It’s a daily driver and will see some trail time a couple of times a month. I really want to try them because the price is really tempting and I do honestly like the look. But I’m scared that they’re going to be short lived and I would have been better off with something different and spending a little more. What tire will you be going too?
I replaced em with the MTr, some people disagree with me, but I will never encourage anyone to buy PATs. Granted on the same noted, im not gonna beg anyone not to buy. Me and my two best friends have all been running PATs for about the same amount of time. We all are the same probelms and gripes about them. They actually had a worse experience than me. Their tires look worse then mine, sidewall chucking and piercings. I did not include that in the video as I felt it was unfair for me to pull from someone else's experience in my review. Truth is its an ok tire, but you will be happier with something else. Sorry for the delayed response.
Good review! I have multiple Jeep buddies who have recently put Patagonia’s on their rigs because they’re affordable. I had never even heard of Milestar’s until maybe 6 months ago. I put 35’s on my Jeep back in January and went with KO2’s. I’ve always been a fan of BFG so I was willing to pay more for what I would considered “tried and true”. Had been curious to see how these things held up over time!
They really ain’t as great as you hear... me and two of my closer friends had all been running them roughly about the same amount of time... we all had the same experience... except they punctured their sidewalls... back when people were able to grab a set of 5/38s for $900-1200... it was not a horrible deal... but Iv learned their prices have jumped up... 100% not worth it imho.. I enjoyed my ko2’s while I had em.. is a great AT I’m thinking next set... will be the km3
JL LIFE OFFROAD I’m not even 6 months into my 35’s and I’m already planning on a set of 37” KM3’s. My buddies that are running the Milestar’s wheel but aren’t super aggressive, just weekend wheelers, and here where we live in TN we do more muddy trail riding than rock crawling. I’m always willing to pay more for quality, especially when it comes to tires and stuff. I only paid $1700 for 5 KO2’s including mount and balance and I didn’t think that was bad at all. My buddies spent I think $1300 for their Milestar’s. I think the $400 price difference was well worth it!
Sweet I loved my Duratracs and also getting ready to do a quick video on them but got some new tires on the way. I contemplated patagonias but I saw a lot of people saying they dont last long so I went with some nitto ridge.
I remember seeing people pick up 5 of these 38s for under $1000... tht was enough to keep these tires being recommended.... but I’m learning they have drastically increased the price... tht being true.. I would not recommend them to anyone... I’m posed to get less then 20k out of my set... and I rotated often.. aired up after wheeling.. never smoked em long... nittos are a great choice.
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD lol. Its funny how your friends light bright nation swear by them. But when I see them crawl next to others with different tires, they seem to have issues too. But they still swear by them. My km3 are heavier, but they are lasting and crawling and do very well in the snow and muds. So I would recomemd them over what you have. Take care, love the j10
I wouldn’t want to take a chance on bad balancing. Highway speeds are important to me, I’ve had bad tires before with being unable to balance. Could be bad wheels, but if you didn’t have that problem before obviously the tires aren’t great. Thanks for an honest review, I was looking at these because of the weight and less strain on the driveline but definitely not worth the negatives for me.
I've run balancing beads in quite a few of my vehicles now and love them. As mo stated if the shop doesn't know how to install them ie. They through the bag in instead of emptying it thats the only time you could have problems
If u can afford a better tire.. id get the better tire.. I would only recommend these to someone who don’t have the money to spend on higher end tires... the balancing beads worked great for the purpose of smoothing out the ride... When tire shops were trying to balance the pats... there were entire sheets of sticky weights stuck to my rims... horrible
JL LIFE OFFROAD I agree completely. Once I had the Wrangler MTR’s on an older car and it balanced perfect without any weights LOL how weird is that? 😂😂 I wish all four were like that ahaha
You get better luck with these 35 inch and under. Generally any tire size above a 37 is going to be harder to balance simply because of the amount of rotating mass.
Hi, I have 37/12.50/17’s 8PR. Did you get the tens because they would be stiffer? I have about 8000 miles in mine and I do rock crawl and over landing at the same time and one thing I’ve noticed is that they are starting to make the vibration noise when you are turning or backing up at a slow speed like you’re gripping with cleats into the ground. Like you said great for the money, I have to see how long they’re gonna last
I've got same tires. 20k and they're all different and all but one are crap. Won't do another set. Older they get, the less they grab. And that's not just wheeling....suck when it rains
Tht gripping is normal for MTs on the road... thought I haven’t had tht issue yet with mine... when we had XMT on mistys jeep... holy hell... those did it like crazy... I’m on par with them being done by 20k which is pretty spot on from what I read from others... 20k is normal.. u may get 30 if u treat them well and don’t abuse em lol
great review, probably not bad lasting tread for what you do with them. your off road habits are basically like driving on sandpaper. depending if you off road on them is 50 percent of your driving, of course they wont last very long, no tire will imo.
Thanks to be honest. But from what i have red online, you need to have them a bit more psi on road. The sides are not meant to be in road since the tire has a crown shape. When inflating more, the side touch less and you will have less chunks and will last longer. I just got some 33 and run at 43psi onroad ans feels like 38psi in my Goodyear.
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD Did you check litebrite video on this? And i would contact Milsetar and show them your situation. I have seen so many reviews that have great mileage in them...
Mo I see why I haven’t experienced that much of the bad parts of the Patagonias yet. I only have 5,000 miles on my 38s. I didn’t get mine for free either, wish I did!
especially tires, so expensive LOL. Again, I gotta stress, these aint horrible tires. But im being told the prices has been creeping up and is now $1400-$1500 a set for em. When people were finding them for $1000/5 even $1250/5.... perfect buy,,,,
Great review...What Method wheels are you running? They look like MR304's 17x8.5 with 4.75 backspacing. If so, do they clear the 38s without issues when flexing?
Actually.. here is the link to my wheels I bought www.northridge4x4.com/part/non-beadlock-wheels/mr30179050512n-method-race-wheels-standard-series-wheel-matte-black-17x9 I had rubbing issues offroading and full flexy situations
I have a set of Patagonia MT on my XJ. I bought them because they were the absolutely the cheapest 33x12.5r15 tires I could find. I bought a set of four for $600. They are a good cheap tire. I will not put 10,000 miles on my lifted XJ. I drive the XJ as a daily, but I am retired and do not put many miles on. Yesterday while driving in the rain, I had tires lock up while trying to stop and slide on wet pavement...... Understand, this is a lifted XJ with 33s and 22 year old stock brake system. The stock brakes were not meant ot lock up 33. These Patagonia tires have about 400 miles on them. Make your own mind up on the tires. On my JLUR, I run Cooper STT pro tires that have 22,000 miles on them with a lot of wheeling all over the US. It is also used to pull a camper. At 22,000 miles, the STT Pro tires look great, drive great and are still quiet for a MT type tire. Yes, they were expensive, but go pay and have tiress mounted on beadlock wheels and see if it is worth it to change tires over two or three times vs one set of STT pro tires. Well kind of thumbs up for Patagonia tires on my 22 year old XJ. I would not put them on my JLUR.
Pros are the best set of tires I've ever run👍👍 great in mud snow rain and crawling. I'm going g back to those. Patagonias spin loose in rain and gotta be 4high in moderate snow. Cooper ftw
I don't do reviews on anything to make my opinion their decision. I agree, everyone should make up their own mind presented on facts known. The pats are not a horrible tire, but I don't see me spending money on another set, especially after Iv been told they have increased the price to $300+ a tire. They seem to be getting into the next bracket of tires. My current pats are getting put on the J10, why? the J10 needed better tires then what was on them. Most people who buy the pats... are they going to hate the purchase, unlikely. BUT I think they would have been happier with a different tire.
I'm currently running Wrangler MTR's on my TJ and have enjoyed them. I'm getting ready to purchase the Patagonia's and see how they do. I noticed you had MTR's on your other vehicle. Any thoughts on what I might expect going from one to the other? Nice review by the way!
The mtr has been performing great so far... about 6-7k miles and still gripping amazing compared to my pats at tht point.. like I mentioned in the video the pats were amazing tires the first 1000 I put on them... I just wished they didn’t decrease so rapidly... often... I been struggling with the pats... and the mtr’s make easy work of it.. I mean the pats still get it done.. it just takes several hard sends on em now... glad to hear u enjoyed the video...
I’ve been running them on my Jeep tj wheel the like crazy up her in that pnw no beadlocks at 5psi never popped a bead and they just working work idk it’s probably because your 4 door is more heavy 🤷🏻♂️
Possible... but me and my 2 best friends,, all been running pats for the same length of time on 3 different rigs... we all encountered the same problems as mentioned in the video... all 3 of us have decided not to buy pats again... which not saying it’s a horrible tire, plenty of people out there will enjoy this tire. It’s just not for us. 🤷♂️ thanks for watching 🙌
Definitely Not a true MT. Lugs are too close together, doesn't allow for it to sling the mud off. Rubber is too soft. Here in the Bayou State where we have a lot of rain, clay, mud and zero rocks, those will not work for us as a MT tire should. We use larger lugs with more spacing between them to sling the mud free and not have it packed in like I've seen those Milestars do.
Thanks Mo good honest review of those tires. I run the Mastercraft on my Sammy yes they are cheap but work great. Had them over a year and they work great in the rocks, snow and mud. Ive heard good and bad things about those tires.
I've been eyeing those mastercraft. Made by cooper. Look like they use the old cooper stt mold. Lightweight as well. Shhhh....dont be telling everyone.....price jumped on Amazon 25.00 and they're disappearing. Lol
jpk0612 thanks man, yup, went to the car wash twice this week, and u can eat off my floor mats they are so clean, to each their own, sorry man i like a clean Jeep, since u checked out my jeep on my channel did u see my new Axial scx10III jeep crawler ? U could have at least subscribed to my channel, 😂 its free lol 👍👍
Mo! Thanks for the honest review. I was going to get these next time. I’m not to sure now. I run on Nitto ridge grappler 35” awesome tire all around. They are just crazy expensive.
I don’t hate the tires 😂 just I’m not impressed with them... my balancing was so bad it was causing death wobble... the first shop seriously put an 8x11 sheet of sticky weights on my rim... it was horrible.. tryna get rebalancing done... they do a crap follow up job.. then started telling me 38s are just hard to balance... sorry... Thts when I went balancing beads...
The tire has a short life and my have a balancing issue on 35’s. It’s something to consider. I have 20k on my Nitto and a penny goes 3/4 into the thread. These tires are rated at 50K. I can totally see that. I’m just looking to get some more economical. I live in south Florida so I do not do rocks. Just dirt roads and light mud 😂. Thanks again for your review.
New tires I hear?! Is it going to be a surprise or are you going to go for Goodyear’s like Heathen? I don’t mind my bfg km3’s, but I’ve only driven 5k miles on my Jeep overall and 3k of that was on the KM3. Awesome review video! I was getting curious about them with people saying they put them on their rigs.
Tire change will be announced soon! They aint a bad tire, but I don't feel I should have to be on bead locks to get the traction I need off-roading. Good, cheap tire... as long as the price is right,, not a bad buy. What price that is, depends on the buyer... to me? $1000-1250 is that sweet spot.
Bro I am getting 37x13.5xR17 Cooper SST Pros if you have not look into them check them out. I am ordering my gears and axle shafts to handle them plus I got the 3.8 so I am considering supercharging the motor lol
A good buddy of mine I wheel with often runs those tires. They perform great. He has had them for about the same amount of time Iv been running milestars
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD me living in Louisiana I need something pretty good that will tackle the terrain. Also go to Arkansas and hit the rocks and trails. I know out west gonna be a lot different trail riding than over here lol
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD 😂😂 aww man that means no slip and slides. All those wet and muddy rocks can make ya pucker a bit 😂. Out west sounding real fun definitely gonna come out once I get the jeep ready
I appreciate your great honest review but i do have to disagree with your projected 50k on mud tires..... I have never seen a mud tire last more than 30k. And who thinks they're ugly? Lol no i like both sets I've bought. I have them on my 16 PW and my 02 f150
Just turned 54,000 miles on my first set rotated 5 tires every 5k easy number to remember running at 37 psi. I’m guessing at least another rotation left or more. Just received my next set ready for install when needed happy overall with the tires no issues balancing 37 12.50 17
Bout time someone tells the truth bout these tires!! Everyone swear by em on you tube but I figured they weren’t all that great
They aint a horrible tire, but they are far from flawless... Me, Jordon and Chris all have been running them for roughly the same amount of time. We all agree with the points on this video.
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD good point that all 3 of you have been running them on same conditions and have a similar responce
Merc doc I just got these in 35’s. I was told to run 36psi is that to much. I see you run them at 33psi
Glad to hear it 🙌
How are they holding up? Looking at a set of 35s myself for my 99’ TJ?
Got 50,000 out of mine and had to replace. 50,000 miles of both on road and wheeling
I run these in 33 on a cj5. Had them out a few times now and love them so far.
Thanks for your post. Im shopping around because my preferred trail grapplers have been on backorder for 10 months and I can't wait any longer. These are one of the only 37s available right now
I have company worn threw a set they are bald as slicks and I loved them I just got my scond set today. My 35"s are like 31lbs each $1300 for al 4
Current tire on Bromance is still not ready to release lol.. but video should be soon 🙌😂 I like my ko2’s was a good tire... just not cut out for the stupid things I like to do
Keep looking at reviews. Most people like them.
Thanks for an honest review. Not many you tubers give honest reviews.
Thanks for watching brother.. 🙌🙌🙌
I run a set of those MT's on my truck. They suck in the rain on road. Off road isn't bad but I might switch it up to a set of Nitto Extreme Terrain.
This is the first HONEST review of these tires I have seen. Too many people review these tires after 24 hours and talk about how great they are.
Milestar recommends them at 32 psi, as far as cupping goes on mine, it's minimal, but u can see it.
I have them in 35's and love them on and offroad. Great synopsis of the tire..Bro
“they’re junk” or “they are the worlds greatest”
Thanks for watching, glad u enjoyed 🙌
Great review! I picked up a set of 35s as they were a screaming deal and I did not want to sink big money into 37s yet. Very happy with them thus far on road, hopefully can get to a trail in the next month and really see how they perform.
Yea! As mentioned.. it’s not a bad tire! Am I upset that I bought em... I’m glad I did... now I have real opinion to offer to someone who asks...’
U will be pleased with ur tires... even more so if u got em cheap.
Good detailed and honest review. Like your casual style. Keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed the video 🤘🤘
Great video Mo. I spend all of my time on the rocks in Colorado and I run the KM3's in a 38" tire. Not cheap but the best rock tire I've found.
That is awesome! I hear great things about that tire. Im sure one day I will try them. LOL
Do you mean the 39/13.50R17?
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD what lift are you running? there's so many for the JL lol.
I n started with the mopar lift... moved around parts and ultimately landed on the game changer. Misty has the rk xfactor
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD nice! It's what mine came with, not complaining but I know there's better. And this had dealer warranty.
Lol.. I rather chew glass then deal with the dealer.. 😂
Honest review, bro! Jordan's one liners cracked me up!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂🙌 honesty is the best policy man...
My M/Ts last 5000 miles on road/hard terrain and cost 458 each I think I'll buy some Milestars
If you're staying in that size range... 38.5x14.50 Trxxus MT is the best tire I've ever run
Discount code???? lol
Yeah that's why I'm going with the falken wildpeak mt01 37x12.5r17
🙌
Thanks for being honest. I have them on my FJ. But they are 34s and it's an FJ. I love them but you can only do so much rock crawling with an FJ. And didn't have any balancing problems with 34s. I also have 8k on them. So maybe they are good for lighter Duty off roading.
I think so... I won’t lie... I don’t do light duty stuff often... but if a mt is only designed to handle/ hold up to mild terrain... 😬 if personally take an AT. exactly what they are made for... and will last MUCH longer
But I appreciate you watching!! 🙌 really!! Thank you!!
Thanks for an honest review Mo!
Thanks friend! Glad I enjoyed! Thanks for taking time to watch!
I thought these tires were a crowned tire meant to run on the middle tread
We use air soft plastic bbs for balance
👍
Buying the kenda rt next. I’ve heard great things about them
Thanks for the honest feedback! 🤙🏻
Absolutely! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙌
Bummer, just bought a set of 35"s guess I will start saving for new ones now.
Like I said.. it’s not a horrible tire.. I abuse my tires and I don’t ever hide tht.. Iv heard from others if u take good care of ur tires u can get about 30k out of em... performance has been degrading offroad... yea... but they still get it done.. I just taking longer now 😂
What I need to start doing to saving $50 a month so when my next set wears I can buy what I want lol
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD Nice...What tires do you want?
JL LIFE OFFROAD try cooper stt pro
I know people running the 39km3 but nowhere close enough to compare em..
Thank you for your honest review Mo, that I will consider when searching for a new tires.
Glad to hear u enjoyed the video! 🙌
These tires are now 2k for 4 of them just fyi for anyone who’s looking. Set of 40” cooper stt pros are the same cost lol
🤮
Patagonia…..
Glad I could help!
Nice detailed review. Seems like everyone is jumping over to these tires. Nice to see a good review of them.
I mean... it’s not a horrible tire... but definitely not as amazing on rocks as I was hoping... it’s just... ok... most people don’t wheel the way I do either... so I’m sure most wont have the same issues I had with em...
The bags for balance beads are supposed to break apart
Inner bag, absolutely… outer bag… not so much
Cheap they are, inexpensive they are not.
Appreciate the honest review bro, I’m running TOYO Open Country M/T’s and have no complaints. 👍🏻
Those are what’s on the j10 currently but damn they are in lousy shape
I got Milestar Patagonia 35” A/Ts. What PSI would you suggest I run these for comfortable interstate ride? The first 500 miles have been extra stiff. The installer filled them to max 65 psi. (This is for a 2018 JLU).
65!?!? WOOF! I’d recommend airing down to 35-45 with an AT tht size.
65 is way to much
JL LIFE OFFROAD that’s what I thought. I’m going to do a chalk test later and see what pressure that indicates.
I got 37's MS Muds on my Gladiator...
No major complaints except they could look better and I shake a bit over 65MPH...
I don't do rock crawling with my Gladiator so "It awight"
Not an awful tire, just wasn’t for me.
What I did... like u 😂 tht was frustrating for sure lol
😬😬😬
I think they gonna shoot themselves in the foot if they continue to raise the prices.
They are not a bad tire... I still get up
My obstacles... just taking much more time.. effort and bump... routinely bumping ... just gonna lead to breaks
They just ain’t a great tire... 🤷♂️
Nice to hear a good honest review. Cheers mate
🙌
Thanks for your honest review👍
for $1000, u WILL be happy with the purchase. Im not upset at the $1250 price point I paid, but I don't believe they are worth more then that.
I enjoyed my ko2’s while I had em.. is a great AT
I’m thinking next set... will be the km3
And if u look at the cost per tire... it’s only an extra $80 or so...
JL LIFE OFFROAD Exactly!
SKETCHY JEEP .... I had the DuraTrac also, and loved them... Problem was when I bump to 37’s Duratracs only went to 315’s ... 😢
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD Sounds weird but I'm also not a fan of how they look lol
@@fwschnaar3179 Yeah thats the only reason I'm not getting them again. I've been really impressed the my duratracs
Thanks for the tire update. I hate that I talked my father in law into these tires now.
Glad you enjoyed the video.. I gotta stress.. they ain’t a horrible tire thou 😬😂
Just I’m not impressed with em 😬 am I upset I spent $1250’on a set??? No I am not
Had issues balancing them? LOL? Les Schwab balanced mines w.o any issues.
Wow, sorry to hear. I have km3, 16,500 and mine still look almost new, and I do 50/50 on and off road. ,
Rub my nose into it why don't you! LOL
Dirtsunrise did a review of their KM3's with 50k and they still looked great. That kind of millage is insane for a MT
I look forward to the day I get a set of km3. My cousin has em on his JL.. problem is he don’t wheel it 😂😂
Do you recommend me to buy those tires right now?
No
I wouldn’t want to take a chance on bad balancing.
Dont do it!!! Lol. Run away
I mean tht would be awesome 😂😂😂
You get better luck with these 35 inch and under. Generally any tire size above a 37 is going to be harder to balance simply because of the amount of rotating mass.
Hi, I have 37/12.50/17’s 8PR. Did you get the tens because they would be stiffer? I have about 8000 miles in mine and I do rock crawl and over landing at the same time and one thing I’ve noticed is that they are starting to make the vibration noise when you are turning or backing up at a slow speed like you’re gripping with cleats into the ground. Like you said great for the money, I have to see how long they’re gonna last
Let me know what time does he go with, thanks
I have Nexen Roadian MT 33' they have been awesome. I'm actually going to up it to 35s.
Congrats! Bigger tires is always exciting!!
Actually Milestar says to run this tire at 32 psi. These tires don't hold to the traditional chalk test lol.
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD Did you check litebrite video on this?
And i would contact Milsetar and show them your situation. I have seen so many reviews that have great mileage in them...
Weird... 20k seems like the going rate on these tires... according to what I read form others.. some claim they get much more.. I don’t buy it...
Looks like you have the same mirrors as I do... the Carolina Metal Masters! Damn expensive but worth it.
They are very well built, great solid design 🙌
Mo I see why I haven’t experienced that much of the bad parts of the Patagonias yet. I only have 5,000 miles on my 38s. I didn’t get mine for free either, wish I did!
especially tires, so expensive LOL. Again, I gotta stress, these aint horrible tires. But im being told the prices has been creeping up and is now $1400-$1500 a set for em. When people were finding them for $1000/5 even $1250/5.... perfect buy,,,,
I’m thinking maybe some nitro trail grapplers but the weight a ton.
I’ll announce the change soon 😉
With that size tire did you re-gear??
5.13 and 38s
I have these in 35s on the way. Hopefully they can last me about 30k miles. Then I will probably go up to 37s nitto grapplers.
🤞 lol, I wish I could tell you they will... but I can tell you, it’s doable!
🙌🙌
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD it might be better that they wear quickly. That means I can move up to 37s sooner lol
Lol... the better the 35s look.. the more I can get for em 💰💰😂😂😂

Lol sounds like bfg... ain’t tht the most irritating thing about tires 😂 check out my 35s! Jk.. it’s 34.25
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD 😂 yep.
Great review...What Method wheels are you running? They look like MR304's 17x8.5 with 4.75 backspacing. If so, do they clear the 38s without issues when flexing?
Actually.. here is the link to my wheels I bought
www.northridge4x4.com/part/non-beadlock-wheels/mr30179050512n-method-race-wheels-standard-series-wheel-matte-black-17x9
I had rubbing issues offroading and full flexy situations
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD Thanks...are you saying you had rubbing issues before you bought these methods? Or is it currently rubbing with these methods and 38s?
On stock rims? Yes it would have been rubbing much more.
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD To clarify...I was asking... do your current Methods/38s still rub the fender liners while flexing?
Yes, at full flex I rub inner fender on this current set up
I have a set of Patagonia MT on my XJ.
Is it normal that new tire feels stiff on road ?
Yes... ungodly stiff... air em down to like 5 psi ride around ur neighborhood SLOW.. for about 30 minutes or so.. should loosen em up
These tires are really bad new
I'm currently running Wrangler MTR's on my TJ and have enjoyed them.
🤷♂️ thanks for watching 🙌

great video!! quick question. how did you attach the doorless mirrors to the grab bars?
Those are the Carolina metal masher door mirrors.. kinda pricey item.. but it is very well made... 100% USA brand as well
Definitely Not a true MT.
