I think the transposition effect make the workings more mysterious.

Aha I think I figured this out. When you cover it up there is still a tiny space for your circle to go up through because when you lift the string up your trying to get it through that hole. As for the red I actually don’t know

I own this trick also and in my own opinion don't do this variation it don't make sense. Stick to the original method because it was that performance made me want this fantastic illusion :D
