His side-kicks are so nice to look at! Could watch forever haha I know this way of stepping is part of the JKA/JKS syllabus but personally I find sliding up to the lead foot or stepping in front of the lead foot is a lot easier & more effective than stepping in front. Just because I can always jam people when they step in front like that in sparring & even when I myself do it that way in sparring, people tend to see it & block, evade etc a lot easier than just when I slide up. Basically I find it tends to telegraph a lot more. I find stepping in front is better for Mawashi-Geri than for a Side-Kick
I think, the way it is taught in Taekwondo (Yop-Chagi) is more powerful, as you lift your knee higher in order to be able to draw a long straight line with your foot directly from your hip to the target, giving your kick much more momentum. Something like this: Γˉˉ The way you're showing it, you're wasting some energy because your foot draws an arc upwards first, and then you try to correct the trajectory by pushing with your hips at the very last moment, making the straight line portion very short. Something like this: ノˉ
Una de las cosas que habría que empezar a pensar en extinguir es el absurdo de hacer yokogeri hacia el shomen. Hacer una patada lateral hacia delante es un sinsentido absoluto, tan absurdo como un maegeri hacia el lado.
