I think you move with elegance. I moved to Shotokan 11 years ago and train using ten no kata. This was all new to me. We have a ten no kata for all techniques. Mostly starting in renoji dachi. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this video. I found it interesting and thought provoking. If I may ask, why the use of Fudo Dachi in place of Zenkutsu Dachi? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Thank you for watching and asking, so Fudo Dachi is a stance more prominent in Kase Ha style of Shotokan. Essentially, it increases depth but also movement if you need to move quickly as opposed to Zenkutsu Dachi. Sometimes, the back leg can be locked. It offers more explosive qualities as well, and for some, such as myself, I feel a bit more free. For example, my hip isn't closed in, etc.
That being said, Zenkutsu Dachi is still effective and not too be neglected in training, and many other katas i will use Zenkutsu Dachi
For me personally m, I feel more balanced, stable, stronger, and fluid in Fudo Dachi, but it's one of the "each to their own" argument, you have to train to see what feels good for you, at the end of the day it's my karate, your karate etc 🥋😊⛩️
Hope this helps a bit 😊🥋⛩️

@@SeishinKarateHM329 Thank you for your reply. I can see your point. Especially since Fudo Dachi is used most often for jiyu kumite. It allows for quick and free movement, while still offering a solid base for an attack.

@bensensay7189 Yes, exactly, I think many karate ka don't realise they naturally fall into a fudo dachi when doing kumite, but you're precisely right 😊🥋

Why use sochin data and not start with zenkutsu. Stance is as wide as your shoulders...thats why you have difficulty in moving and have a short punch range. You are strong but can improve on it with correct composure. Unless you learn differently in your particula4 group sochin is similar to kiba with weibht distrubution 50/50 and feet parralel.

      1) I use fudo dachi, different from zenkutsu dachi. Fudo dachi is 50% zenkutsu 50% kiba dachi
      2) I have no difficulty in moving, and as far as I can see, there is no difficulty in the video. Again, fudo dachi makes it easier to move
      3) Yes, in Kase Ha Shotokan fudo dachi becomes the prominent stance as it has many benefits. Like all stances, they have their benefits and usefulness.
      4) My punch range is an interesting one 🤔 in zenkutsu dachi it wouldn't be much different.
      5) My composure is also an interesting one to comment on... 🤔
But I appreciate the time you've taken to comment and watch it. I hope this reply helps 😊⛩️🥋

@@SeishinKarateHM3291. Mentioning Kase I want to remember many moons ago he did change his fudo/sochin to the wya you do. Let me explain where I come from and i have trained with a number of groups....all did the same thimg...zenkutsu weight distribution is 60/40 F/B - attacking stance. Kokutsu is 70/30 B/F, kiba id 40/50. To ge to sochin you "turn" your zentkutsu into a kiba da 50/50 and feet facing +- 30% of centre. HIPS 45DEGREES - NOT FACING FLAT FORWARD.EXCEPT FOR KIBA AND GOKUTSU STANCES ARE AS WIDE AS YOUR AS YOUR SHOULDERS....THAT IS IF YOU DRAW A PARRALEL LINE. From what i observe your stances are "much" wider than this. Sochin dachi is not a wide stance. At the risk of being arrogant....if you work on yourmstance your karate will be strongsr and you can be faster. Try the option agais t bags and see if it wòrks for you. Reme er the wider the stance the easier it is to legsweep you and the more difficult to prime your kicks correctly. From your sochin do an ushiro and check, wheremyour leg goes. Enjoynthe thraining - still the best there is.

@ToastSoon4808 Again, as stated, I'm not using sochin dachi. I'm using Fudo Dachi, which is an equal distribution of weight. I practice against bags quite often, and again, every stance is useful, I've stated that, for me, fudo dachi works great, it's well balanced for attacking and defending. And the wider the stance the easier to sweep is an interesting observation, not sure that's quite how that works, as it depends on the participants, the situation but again closed views are always fun and interesting to read.
The kicking again, when done properly, is not a problem in Fudo Dachi. But again I've stated enough that I use fudo dachi not sochin dachi. Two different stances, but each observation to their own... oss 🥋👍

Yep folks, you guessed it this troll has no content at all on it's channel. No demonstrations of how masterfully they can move. IN other words a mouth without a body, body of work or even the slightest evidence of skill. yep.
