No we haven't completed the entire pharmacology yet. But we have covered so many topics. You can browse them more easily from our website. I hope it helps. Thank you.
If a drug is highly lipophlic can we say that plasma half-life of that drug is large compared to a less lipophlic drug since lipophlic drugs can distribute more and are harder to excrete ?
@@NonstopNeuron but what makes me confused is that since it is highly lipophilic, shouldn't its concentration in the plasma decrease so does the plasma half life of that drug?
Distribution half-life and elimination half life are two different half lives that we can find for a drug. I think you are confused between them. Distribution half life is usually shorter due to rapid initial distribution. You know what...! The thing you asked in the first comment has also got a special name, termination half life. Depending on the pharmacokinetic profile of the drug, these half lives may vary. I hope it helps.
it's s very straight forward relationship. The longer the half life the longer the drug works.!!! unless of course it's a hit and run drug in which case the duration of action would be longer than what is predicted based on half life. humm... I see, we can compile multiple such examples. Will note down this suggestion.
You deserve a million dollars!
I've lost 4 hours of my day trying to understand this concept, and you just did it in minutes
I think this channel is most helpful. They clear the idea easier way and within short time.i subscribed already.
Nice... A major concept is cleared in this short video 😊😊
Glad to hear that!
Wow, you cleared my basic in this short time. Really helpful. Keep uploading.
Thank you, I will

Well explained 🎉
Amazing.
i'm only here because youtube decided to recommend me real ''Half Life'' content
If plasma half life time is for any drug 2-6 hours then what can we say about this drugs action???
Thanks
Fabulous 👌
Thank you so much
Is plasma excreted from urine as you are saying plasma concentration decreases
By "plasma concentration" here I mean concentration of any substance in plasma.
Super
Helpful👍
Glad it helped😊
Amazing
Thanks
Very nice
Thanks
Half-life of extravascular tissue bound drug is relatively high ? Why
Because they are bound to extravascular tissue (where they are not degraded)

Yes

@@NonstopNeuron also thank you so much for this quick reply

@@NonstopNeuron I just watched your terminal half life video and understood it better. Thank you so much.
Half life not constant so emptying varies over time
🔥
Can you pls make a video on half life vs duration of action of a drug
