As TT approaches I always fail to recognise how deeply entrenched in IOM TT I am. The riders, the course, the crowds, the paddocks, the start, the corners.... even the tingling atmosphere of actually being there all comes flooding back. I last rode to TT and back in 2017. It was without doubt the most amazing experience ever. So much so I know it could never be matched and I never rode again. The bike is still as I left it the moment I stepped off. TT flies and all.
I played rugby in the front row, at a pretty high level, for many years, but nothing compares with the physical and mental toughness that these guys possess. I'll be going over again this year, but I know I will still never be able to understand how they do it. They are the bravest!!
My T.T. partner past away not long after our two week visit 2023 . Not sure what to do this year do you go or do you not ?? If I don't go he would say you stupid bastard.. If I go it might be really painful Which ever way not long to go and for all those going come back safe and make sure you have fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry got carried away there a bit great up load and what a man he really was a true natural such a gift to be given ..
These guys that race the roads are the most down to earth sportsmen the world will ever see . after you have been going to the tt races for years and you talk to all the riders .who go out of there way to talk to you . I think they feel like part of your family . We all have favourites but i care for every single rider that races the tt . and wish every rider a safe tt as do we all . good luck lads ride fast but ride safe see you all soon ( RESPECT )
Without a doubt, all of them human extraordinaire. I like what Brookes said at the end. Without hearing all the stories you don't know who had the greatest or biggest comeback. There are several quotable sentences in this episode alone that can be used at any stage in life.
Connors comeback has to be the greatest... every year since 2010 he has had to rewatch his accident a 1000 times over the fortnight, that must be mentally hard. The job is hard enough with out seeing that every day..
The moment this video started I "knew" it had to be Mike Hailwood! By the time the vid finished I still "knew" it was Hailwood but I had quite a few "oh yeah" moments in between. Great episode 🙂
To all involved; thank you so much for bringing joy🙏passion🔥all of it💪🏼racers, you are always in my prayers🙏your families too! Much love and respect from Fort Wayne Indiana🙏
Mike the Bike I was there thanks Dad (he worked for the Daily Mirror) for dragging me there didn't know how important it was first TT I ever attended RIP Mike and Ted Macauley - Not to be forgotten ,,,,,,, Old Mirror men never really die
If Honda had not weaponised his ten-year contract while the ink was still drying to stop him from racing for anyone else, despite withdrawing from racing themselves, Mike Hailwood's record at the TT would still be the one that others chased after. His comeback was as a privateer, as well, and as Honda had returned to racing,, he punished them heavily by thrashing them on a machine with barely over half of the horsepower. As a result, we got Japanese motorcycles that actually handled decently, as until then they had insisted that any handling deficit could be overcome with more horsepower. They really believed that, despite the complaints from riders and even legislators about "wet spaghetti frames" and many other phrases that would be familiar to any motorcyclist of the era. Mike didn't only prove them wrong, he rubbed their noses in it with such complete dominance. I don't know of anyone who has left such a profound impact on all motorcycles, and not only in racing.
I know it was a comeback win at the classic, but I think Bruce Anstey coming back from lung cancer he wasn't expected to survive was a pretty good effort too.
Id LOVE to see yall talk about the Motorcycle medics that follow behind yall. And the interview with them. They are amazing riders that face different challenges.
To be lucky enough to have met some of these legends still amazes me, have to pinch yourself that you've met legends. To the producers, hats off and keep this content rolling! So good to hear different opinions from the riders but how humble they are, how much they speak up about each other is so nice! Johnston cracks me up every time! Look forward to another road racing season and more of this content!
That was extremely well done. Excellent job to those that filmed and edited this. I love seeing the TT get the production it deserves. I don't think it'll change it, but attracting an audience is key. Again, great job. Really enjoyed that.
It was this very day I decided I must do this before I'm 30. Good couple years or practise and experience should give me a good chance of having a reasonable time on my before I reach that age. Cheers to everyone who helps make this race happen and the brave Manx who dare. It's a beautiful thing. Caught that bug fam😂
To tell the truth Conor Cummins is one of the luckiest person to be alive after that accident he had in 2010 if he have hit the stone wall straight on he would not be here to tell the tale I remember hearing the stories about the injuries these riders have sustained and yet still have the courage to race the Isle of Man track just to prove a point
The sound of those 2 strokes, grew up as teen late 70s early 80s whenn500cc 2 strokes ruled bike racing. 160 to 180hp power band 3 grand wide on crap frames and tires and suspension. Those guys were the best riders ever bar none. Taming a 500 2 stroke with that power yet terrible handling, man that is crazy.
I agree so much with all of these, and Connor having that crash in 2010 and then placing 6th in the 2011 supersports is mind blowing. Coming back from these big offs shows the guys are hard as nails. As much as people talk about the TT race history and the course, its the people riding that makes it amazing. Its the one race where you don't really see people being fans of one rider, but are fans of everyone. Yes we all have our favourites but I think if we are all honest we'd like everyone to win, the TT is pretty much the last pure race experience where people are happy for everyone who competes, not just "their guy". I would love to see Connor get a 1st place this year, but at the same time I want Michael to get to his 25th and 26th wins and I'd love to see Hickman set another record or 2 and I want to see McGuiness get one more victory to add to his legacy. The TT is the only event I can think of like that, you want everyone to get their victory and spotlight, not everyone can win but you want them all to.
I am 78, Mike the Bike was my hero, Ago, Phil, hell I even wanted to race in the 60s Would these riders be up with todays rocketships, no doubt. Nice to hear todays winners talk of him
I’ve broken my fib and tib twice, near died the first time, all but had it taken clean off apart from a finger of flesh attached to my leg..27 pints of blood pumped through my body to keep me alive for the first 24hrs…I understand where hutchys mind and Robert’s mind must have been for I don’t know how long….but hear me now…I’m still cracking on ..at a limit..much respect to these 2 men..by far thee greatest comebacks…the mental challenge of what these 2 men done is second to none ..and second to that has no idea of what it takes to punch through and do what they done…and for sure Bruce dealing with the cancer and still coming back from the other side of the world to say less
To be fair it's a common thing all riders tend to share so we all talk about it. Share our experiences with injuries and come backs. Me personally I will always tell my story and am always keen to hear what other riders have to say about there story's, it's abit of common ground. And it is an unfortunate thing with bikes everyone will get hurt bad at some point or know of someone who has. It's a different story on race day however and u shouldn't talk about thoes things on race day/weekend
Real men..... brooks got it right! So many people out there on comebacks no body knows about be it multiple broken bones to drug addiction and the will it takes to comeback and put your leg over a bike again. Only that person knows......sometimes not even their wife knows what it takes❤
The producers and ideas people behind this content deserve a massive pat on the back. Outstanding.
Superb
apart from the ridiculous backround 4 chord music that saturates every other motorsport video
Not long now, lads & lasses! Roll on TT 2024! 🏍
Can't wait, lesssgooooo!!
Carl Cox is such a gift to the motorcycle and TT community!
For you all that got low, got hurt.
You are strong, and it won't break you. We all cheer you alll!
Legends, we salute you!

Bruce after having cancer. Think he should have got a mention
That man deserves his own episode

Don't even think about it just get it booked he'll still be with you have a great one
Go when you feel ready and if you want bring someone with you to be an emotional support, not a replacement.
Absolutely savage stuff. I’m not even a biker but am obsessed by the TT. The lads are all top class characters. Best of luck for 2024 gentlemen ❤.
Excellent. I really enjoyed season 1, glad you're following it up. The quality is again top notch. Credit to everyone involved.

No "stone" left "un-turned" here! And you managed to get all of that down in under 30 MINUTES time! This one's a DEFINITE "Keeper", for sure!!
Another brilliant episode 👏 We will be adding Lee Johnston’s come back to this amazing list real soon 😎🫡
Mike the Bike

I know it was a comeback win at the classic, but I think Bruce Anstey coming back from lung cancer he wasn't expected to survive was a pretty good effort too.

Epic. Thank you for making this .
Hutchy was my first thought as that's my era and it was great to be there on the island for that but this has been really interesting!

can't wait to go back this yr
Mike Hailwood , his comeback made the evening news on the BBC when he won .
Outstanding episode, absolutely buzzing for this year's TT 🏍️💨💨💨
Can't imagine the riders like thinking and talking about this stuff...
