Happy New Years to you....should be heading to Bahamas mid February...definitely see where u guys are at...bring along some wine...and a new fishing rod for Sheldon😁...nice catch!!
Not even a minute into it and I was already relaxed and dreaming about launching this spring. You guys are a constant inspiration and continue to produce some of the best power boat cruising videos on UA-cam. I've got a ton of mechanical work and electronics upgrades in-play this winter, and for the first time since taking ownership of my boat I'm stored indoors at a heated facility. Channel is growing organically (43 subscribers woohoo!), albeit slowly. A lot more content to come...stay tuned. Happy New Year! Can't wait to see what's in store from you guys in 2020!
Great vid, thanks guys, just FYI, for shallow water trolling I would use lures less likely to get destroyed by toothy fish which ply shallow water, deeper water, deep drop offs etc then targeting tuna is a good thing and bringing out the good lures is right on target. Also look to bottom fish structure, you get your best tasting fish there.
West end of the lake, St.Catharines here. Hope you both had a good Christmas , and have a safe a fun New Year. I would say " long may your big jib draw " , but, you ain't got one. Unless that's a hint of what's coming ?
Was this your 2019 crossing? Your videography/editing has taken another big step forward. Love the water level shots. Looks like you went all-in by installing a fish cleaning station. Any concerns on the run from Bimini to Great Harbour Cay? Water looks a little shallow and we plan on heading that way SOON. Just got back to the boat a couple of days ago and air conditioning is popping the circuit breaker within a few seconds and found literally tons of barnacles in the strainer. Going to clean out today and crossing my fingers that everything works out before having to find a mechanic that will actually return calls.
Hi Bob! Thanks. We have no concerns with the Bimini to GHC run. Its plenty deep the whole way. We follow the line on the Garmin/Explorer charts. Boats, gotta love em. This was our 2018 crossing. Though this year was very similar.
Clean strainer, andif all else fails, dive on exterior of sea strainer with a 1” putty knife, and remove all exterior growth in southern waters especially, exterior growth is faster than in the Chesapeake Bay, found that out on our 1st winter in the Keys!
There is water coming out. The exhaust is the one with the black rubber flapper. However most of the exhaust water comes out the side of the boat around midship on both sides. The water is split before it get to the muffler.
Nice Crossing !! I have been waiting on a new vid from you two - check out the 53 Tolly in Virginia - it is in very nice condition for its age. The interior looks fabulous and the engine and generator hours look nice. The cockpit is a little small, But a nice price. Enjoyed the exit from Lauderdale - looks like you need a skinny boat.
Thanks Robert! Yeah we seen the 53 come on the market. Looks very nice indeed. Yes the New River looks skinny but the fattest of boats go through there. 😯
I'm a new follower of your channel and wanted to say thank you not only for your quality content, tips and advice. Also, for your use of technology that is out there. I didn't know about SmugMug until this video! Do you have an affiliate link for it so you get the credit? I want to be sure I use it if so! Thank you both xoxo
Thanks Fred! Same to you. The crossing took about 6 hours. We travel mostly at 8 knots, but we went on plane for 15 minutes about 2 times to blow the engines out.
Fred, I was wondering the exact same thing. My 48 CPMY has the same CAT 3208’s and we HOPE to make that crossing to our uncle’s home on Green Turtle Cay one of these days (they just restored power after the hurricane). We have to make it down from Nashville first though. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year C-Shels. Really enjoying the videos. The water shots off the bow were epic! If you get back over to Green Turtle, make sure you look up Brendel and do one of his snorkel/dive tours. You won’t regret it! Huge fish! Beautiful!
Searching for C-Shels Wow that water between Bimini and Great Harbor Cay is fantastic! Is the water like that the whole way? 2 months until I retire hope to join you out there!
Great to "C" y'all back cruising! 🌅🚤👙⚓🍺
Thanks Jason! It's always good to be back cruising after months at a marina.
I dug the fishing.

Love to see the fishing video's!
Why did you let the Barracuda go? Too small??
You call that fishing? lol
We hear Barracuda are difficult to filet. Also we are scared of Ciguatera.
At 1408, You Han no water coming out of your port exhaust pipe, hope it was only momentary!
There is water coming out. The exhaust is the one with the black rubber flapper. However most of the exhaust water comes out the side of the boat around midship on both sides. The water is split before it get to the muffler.
Ok. I'm going to sign up for patreon to do something about that reel...
LOL!!!

Everytime I’ve had barracuda its been good. Why do you guys throw them back?

Are you fishing in Bahamas waters prior to checking in and getting a fishing permit?
Good question. No we checked in at Bimini the evening before. The wet lines were legal. 😉
Well done! The video didn’t show that. Enjoy GHCM! Say hi to King from me/RED HEAD.
Sure will Jeff! Stay tuned and the next episode will have King in it. 😀
Happy holidays 😊. I'm curious, how long is the crossing from Ft Lauderdale to the Bahamas and how many knots were you doing?
Thanks Fred! Same to you.
The crossing took about 6 hours. We travel mostly at 8 knots, but we went on plane for 15 minutes about 2 times to blow the engines out.

Thanks Larry. We were cruising at about 7-8 knots. Fort Lauderdale to Bimini took 6 hours, Bimini to Great Harbour Cay took 10.

Yes the whole way, and throughout the Bahamas.
How many hours does that crossing take?
We were cruising at about 7-8 knots. Fort Lauderdale to Bimini took 6 hours, Bimini to Great Harbour Cay took 10.
Cuda is actually good eating

The Cuda's are really nice too eat as is the Macrel.
We have never tried them. I guess we are going to have to.
