Boy, If I had a white sandy beach, views like that and clear blue water to cool off in I’d exercise more also. Hard to get motivated when it’s 30 degrees with freezing rain in central Indiana! Great video guys, always look forward to seeing your next adventure. Remember to Live, Love, Laugh and enjoy all life has to offer.
Wow, I am just without words. This is lovely, and heartfelt, and...exactly what our life here on Great Harbour Cay is all about. Thank you for this. Hugs and kisses! (When are you coming back, 'cause, there's a party in your future?)
Every year is usually different. However the last couple of years the boat is put on land in Stuart and strapped down for the height of hurricane season. We fly out and rent somewhere while we wait for the the hurricane season to dwindle.
@@SearchingforCShels I retire in 2 years. Iam 54 now and my dream is to live in the way you guys are now. on a boat. I love the water life. And the BVI and the Bahamas are a great place to start. Taking lessons fron you.
Hey, surprised you didn't walk up to the Rat Pack ruin just a short distance from the marina. Weird falling-down place. Can almost feel Sinatra's ghost...

Looks like the 2018/2019 cruising season is starting out great and shaping up to be even better. Can't wait to see if there might be some scuba diving from the swim platform or dinghy this season. :) This video was great....awesome lobsters too! The dream you're living is the dream I am planning for.
I always love your video's 1 thing I do miss is having a pet. We hope to make it to the Berry' Islands and those cats made me want to go even more lol . Maybe they would think our boat is yours and move on board while we visited. I'll have to add cat food to my provisions
Oh you'll love them! They are pretty smart to know who likes them and who has a meal for them. I'm sure they would love to be welcomed aboard your Tolly. I also put out a bowl of water on or near the boat for them as Spooks (the orange color one) and Beauty (the long haired black and white one) love to get a drink once in a while :-) Can't wait to see you guys down here soon!
It's cheaper to stay a month of course, but these are the rates as of right now. Daily rates: $2.00 per foot per day. Weekly rates: $10.00 per foot per week. Monthly rates: $20.00 per foot per month. Electric: $0.75 per KWH. Water: $0.50 per gallon. Wash-down Water: FREE.
I'm in Key West right now where the going rate is about $5 a foot (the place a couple hundred feet away wanted $7.50). Coming down from Fort Lauderdale everything was $2 to $3.50 a foot for anything with a semi-convenient location. Coming down the ICW, rates were from free to $1 a foot to $3 a foot, one place charged us $20 for a day but was actually in the middle of nowhere. $2 a foot sounds great for such a beautiful spot. We have to get a better hang on that anchoring thing.
Hi Albert. That is very nice to say. It is truly why we put out video, to motivate and inspire. We have a range of ~800 nautical miles with a 10% reserve.
@@SearchingforCShels At how many knots Shel? You have twin Cats right? 300HP each? And around 800 gallons of onboard fuel? At displacement speeds, I would think that you should be able to extend your range quite a bit...
That is at displacement speeds of ~8 knots with the occasional run up on plane to blow out the engines. These are the 375 hp cats, and we carry 400 gals of fuel.
@@SearchingforCShels Ah, Ok. I thought the Tollycrafts had 2 tanks at 400 gallons each. My mistake. My Riva 50 has twin MAN 510's, but I carry 550 gallons of fuel in 4 tanks and can get around 1,100 nm at 8 knots. The boat won't allow me to stay at 8 knots though as she also needs to be opened up for a bit.
From a slightly different point of view, we just made a fast run from Marathon to Key West, got 0.76 smpg. Twin 370 hp Volvo diesels, around 25smph for about 50 miles of 3 ft seas. Haven't done a very long cruise at 7-8 knots but anecdotally would guess 3smpg. 277 gallons so not much range. 40 ft flybridge cruiser.
Yes, once off the beaten path, a lot of options can present themselves in life. That truck is a local woman spraying for no-see-ums. Anyone who has been there knows that sound and that truck. 😀
At your ages running is not advisable. Running tends to burn of glycogen first. If you walk briskly then you body burns fat more than glycogen. Also need to track your nutrition, which usually will mean elevating protein. check out an app My Macros.plus. It will allow you to easily track with its library of nutrition for most common foods and pre packaged items as well. Good luck and enjoy the content.
@@SearchingforCShels my macros plus will make it easy to follow and track your diet. Walking briskly after meals will help you lose fat instead of burning glucose, secondly it's great for lowering your lowering and regulating your blood sugar. Weight or resistance training will also help maintain bone health, reducing potential for osteoporosis. Happy New Year, New You.
