The jetpack is not a new concept, in fact in the 1950s a jetpack was created by engineer Wendell Moore for Bell Aerosystems. Called the "Bell Rocket Belt", it was capable of lifting a person 30 feet into the air, however it was only able to stay aloft for a maximum duration of 20 seconds.
Sixty Three years on, technology and innovation has certainly made the Jetpack concept a reality.
In 2011, the New Zealand based company, Martin Jetpack, successfully carried a dummy 5,000 feet above sea level, what is remarkable is that it has now been given a license by New Zealand's Civil Aviation Authority to carry out manned test flights. Inventor Glenn Martin is hopeful that a military version of the device will be ready next year.
Creators of the Martin Jetpack are targeting various industries such as the military, emergency services and search and rescue as potential early adopters, so what about the freight industry ?
We are sure companies such as TNT, FedEx, DHL and UPS would love to offer this type of service to its customers, especially for urgent across town deliveries, however one potential road block could be the $200,000 asking price. - Наука та технологія

This reminds me of a scene from those sci fi movies. Love it. The future is here. Just don't run into a building. Nice!
A piece of shit, a real man at the beginning and at end, but the rest is just animation. If it's "just now", why animation?
Ragna Rok because it is capable of flying over 5000 feet and its not just like anyone can go around flying it, it takes hours of training to get used to the controls so the inventor is covering his backside as there are no CAA or FAA classifications for such an aircraft. If someone gets hurt before rules are set in place its his ass on the line.
Ragna Rok You're a piece of shit.
+888WulfDog888 Sorry, but I've got to call bullshit on your response. People fly home-built and experimental aircraft of all sorts. If this works like they say, it should be no problem to get some footage of someone flying it.
For the most part it is guaranteed death below parachute altitude.
wow amazing I hope I get to try it one day thats amazing
Stop with stuid animations and just do it!
multirotor..
We're you get rc lol
May not be a "jetpack" in the true sense of the word but it looks like this one is very close to production & scheduling an IPO offering.
For the true "jetpack" seekers, I wouldn't be surprised to see more power transitions moving towards a true jetpack in the future.
Very efficient for fire department, policy and emergency situations. Very practical.
Junk
1:29 It looked like Zuckerburg might shoot that jetpack guy out of the sky for a second there.
"lifting people to safety" moe like lifting people to their "sliced onion hell"
Te regalo el ruido INSOPORTABLE.
A balloon can also break your fall from low altitude.. But a pro should be behind the controls
Dos años despues sabemos que sto ya no se necesita con la llegada de los drones
Yeh, stupid project
I'm 100% sure that they gonna make lots of money out of this. Watch the other video where they tested the flight
one great advantage of this flying machine is it can go thru tight corner where helicopters cannot go!!
congratulation guys Amazing just Amazing
Use piston engine?u better change to jet turbofan or terboprop.
awesome am so signing up like so 80 sci fi flick movies
I approve of this message :)

What happens when an engine fails ????
didn't you watch the video before this one from 2011? It has a parachute! They tested it back in 2011 and took it up to 5000 feet above sea level, and the parachute worked great!
+Roy Patterson thanks for the info :)
