Since 1962, The Dubliners have been enthralling audiences worldwide with their music and song. The strength and attractiveness of The Dubliners has always been in the personalities of the musicians who have made up this boisterous band of balladeers, from original members, Ronnie Drew, Barney McKenna, Luke Kelly, Ciarán Bourke, John Sheahan and Bob Lynch to the arrival at different stages of Jim McCann, Seán Cannon, Eamonn Campbell and finally the peerless Paddy Reilly.
    Produced By: David Donaghy
    Sound Engineer: Brian Nartey

We are very proud of Ireland. I'm sure your are proud of Brazil. For us the Irish music is on our hearts, our soul. All around the world, people love it. Many of our songs are about our history and conflict with England. We keep these songs alive as part of our shared history to the world. 🇮🇪🇧🇷

    Lyrics:
It was down the glen one Easter morn to a city fair rode I.
There Armed lines of marching men in squadrons passed me by.
No fife did hum, nor battle drum, did sound its dread tattoo.
But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell rang out through the foggy dew.
Right proudly high over Dublin Town they hung out the flag of war.
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky than at Sulva or Sud El Bar.
And from the plains of Royal Meath, strong men came hurrying through.
While Britannia's Huns, with their long range guns, sailed in by the foggy dew.
'Twas England bade our Wild Geese go, that small nations might be free.
But their lonely graves are by Sulva's waves or the fringe of the Great North Sea.
Oh, had they died by Pearse's side or fought with Cathal Brugha,
Their names we would keep where the Fenians sleep, 'neath the shroud of the foggy dew.
But the bravest fell, and the solemn bell rang mournfully and clear,
For those who died that Eastertide in the springtime of the year.
And the world did gaze, in deep amaze, at those stout-hearted men, but few,
Who bore the fight that freedom's light might shine through the foggy dew.
Back to the glen I rode again, and my heart with grief was sore.
For I parted with those valiant men, I never will see no more.
And to and fro in my dreams I will go, I'll kneel and I'll pray for you,
Oh, slavery fled, ye rebel dead, when ye fell 'neath the foggy dew.

Kudos to Ireland, Foggy Dew is a great song, especially this version, it represents the gracious Irish spirit of defiance. To us Macedonians especially it is valued because we feal connected since early 20th century when Roger Casement has supported our Macedonian St Elias uprising of 1903, and Macedonian liberation from the Ottoman Empire. We are proud for Ireland's success, especially that remembrance and admiration is alive today in the city of Bitola, because Ireland has thrived, but Macedonia is still struggling with the consequences, since it was divided in 1912 by Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria, Christian neighbors that proved to be even greater despots and tyrants for Macedonians than the Muslim Ottomans. Absolutely Tom Barry, no shrinking violet, said that without the women the the Cumman there would have been no winning. A young woman of the Cumman was sent by Michael Collins to Barry to enquire of a hostage Barry had taken. After reassurance from Barry she went back to Collins with the news. Later, Barry married her, brave girl, lovely woman - there were hundreds more. God Save Ireland.
