  • Rev. Dempsey Rosales Acosta, S.S.L., S.T.D., Associate Professor and Miller Chair of Catholic Studies in the Theology Department at University of St. Thomas-Houston, describes the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace’s document, “The Church and Racism: Toward a More Fraternal Society.” Fr. Dempsey and Bridget Richardson, with the Nesti Center for Faith & Culture, discuss how the document gives a panoramic view of racism in the world and the position of the church from 1988-2001. Fr. Dempsey goes into detail about how themes of the document are present and perceived in our country and describes how students interpret the text.
