I'm a 13 year old Liverpool fan so as you can imagine not much makes me cry, but this, this video brought a tear to my eye i never experienced a game at highbury but i can see how much it means to every single arsenal fan who attended or was never lucky enough to attend a game at highbury. Anfield and highbury. just the two most historic stadiums that carry so many memories of league wins fa cup win and many other trophies. Arsenal and highbury you will never walk alone.
Attended games at Highbury all my life til 06 miss it forever it was amazing in the 90s and 00s in for me have amazing memories of getting tube to Highbury and Walking to stadium
This is for my mate George, an Arsenal nut all his life. George used to always go to Highbury with his dad as a kid, and has nothing but fond memories of the stadium. Through the good times and the bad, Highbury was always strong. George is 79 in December, and although the stadium is gone, the spirit lives on through George.
I actually found this difficult to watch. I'm pretty young though, I can't even imagine what it must be like for 40, 50, 60 year old Arsenal fans to watch. Still miss you Highbury. :-(
Horrible, horrible, horrible. Altho it had some incredible face lift in the 20 years before demolition I mourn the demise of Highbury along with every other old ground. The game as a whole is a million light years from when I attended my first match in 1975. It really is a struggle sometimes to keep some sense of 'passion' for the game.
so sad to see such a good stadium being demolished like that, this is coming from a man utd fan, i used to love Highbury, and the camera angle that they used show in the middle of the pitch was awesome, RIP Highbury, sawly missed
The stadium where the glory days where held, where a kick about in the park became a full season unbeaten, where wenger raised some of his untouchables, where we won trophies, this is the real cathedral. The cathedral of football. Never forgotten highbury! Rip
This makes me tear up just thinking about it. Now we've experienced the same thing, and the London Stadium isn't even a football ground. I'll miss Highbury and the Bolelyn Ground forever.
It's a terrible shame for you. You've lost the history and you'll never replace that with a concrete and glass monstrosity that looks as soulless as every other new stadium, and that includes ours. I never went to Highbury but I wish to god that I had. Heartbreaking video.
I’m not Arsenal’s fan but it was one of my favourite stadium! :( when I watched on TV as if I was there inside. It was beautiful! Yes , Emirates is nice one but Highbury was something different magic. Always will be in my heart
I'm not connected with Arsenal in any way, but this video was really moving. Emirates was a necessary step for the club, but Highbury will be thoroughly missed.
My dad took me to my first game back in 1968 and then on felt Highbury was home and enjoyed good times and not so good times but as much as I miss Highbury we have to move forward so maybe goods times are coming .
Went to Highbury for the first time in 86’ with my old man and at 6 years old became a life long Gunner. Thanks Dad So many great memories here it was home I will always have them memories till the day I die. West stand was our seat for 10 years until my dad passed away but I carried on going and always felt him with me. RIP Highbury RIP Dad
I am a real Arsenal Fan but I have never been to the Highbury stadium but I have seen the times when they still played the league matches in Highbury and also played the cup matches and the FA community shield I have seen those matches on TV but that's about it but this video of the demolition of Highbury Stadium reminded me what these were then beautiful years with beautiful football from Arsenal I do miss the Highbury stadium 😥😥
this video is gut-wrenching. i miss highbury so much. there isnt anything worse than the modern era taking away our footballing treasures, and Highbury was just that. RIP.
Am a Liverpool fan so sad watching this about highbury all the great times for the gooners that they shared through the 93 years just smashed down its just wrong they just could of done something with highbury instead of moving please don't do this to are beloved anfield .
well i never saw a game in highbury, but i visited it once...touched the gates of it...i allways wanted to watch a game but know they are some hell of a expensive appartments... :(
on my visit to the ground after the title was won in 2004, an old geezer outside the ground sitting on the porch near where the players come in with their cars at the East stand showed me his fist and grimaced with the lingering taste of victory. He was probably 80+
Why the stadium was demolished? It was well: '(, it was very nice, I liked this more than made again ... Well which one why it demolished ... But this stadium is not ever forget me, and I doi the sympathy and a big hug to the players and fans of Arsenal, and Wenger what I want a lot ... Giving me you were my coach ... Greetings from Barcelona: '(
i loved highbury. its logical that arsenal moved to a new stadium, but highbury should not have been demolished. Its a piece of beautifull english history. respect from a feyenoord fan. grtz from holland
Sad Sad....I,m an Ex Pat Aston Villa fan living nr Melbourne..Australia These stadiums had a "special aura" which i think the new ones may never have. R I P Highbury.
We were supposed to be able to buy our seats but some idiot said they gave off a dangerous gas if kept indoors , personally I think they thought it was to much hassle!
Highbury was and still is the classiest football stadium in the country and we destroyed our real home to move into this soulless corporate bowl called the Emirates. Highbury had magical moments and history more than Emirates or should I say Ashburton Grove because that was the area were Emirates was built on. Highbury will always forever be in every gooners heart
What a great video. I was there that last day. It brings back a lot of emotional memories. I think everyone left the stadium that day with tears welling up. I still think the board make the right decision. Perhaps one day I will be able to buy a flat at Highbury. Oh, by the way, what is this song called and who sang it.
i'm a liverpool fan and even though i would prefer liverpool to build a new stadium i know anfield would be stripped away also which would suck. i miss highbury it was a nice ground. arsenal were an awesome team back then now they seem content to finish in the top 4 but win nothing.
Have you actually been to Old Trafford before? , its on a industrial estate that is falling apart minute by minute, I would argue that its actually one of the worst
Fitting song for a heartwrenching set of pictures... where did you get them from, cos i know arsenal tv online has a set of videos detailing the demolition but you've got some i aint seen before
at least you had the chance to enjoy it, imagine me having to live so far away from the club of my heart :( and I will never experience highbury atmosphere.. Hope Emirates feels the same!
money makes money. acute housing shortage and the old stadium and new made into luxury flats. all very dodgy how they were able to destroy a listed building and build private
I still cannot believe it. It's not like Highbury was a bad stadium with a poor pitch that lacked atmosphere or anything. Everything Arsenal won they won when they called Highbury home. I can't imagine if something like that were to happen to OT or Anfield. If it does, then English football is lost.
erm mate where did you get some good photos from... one in the west stand i believe... although they are good photos, its not what i want to see... highbury RIP
At least you've still got the shell of the ground there in some reasonable form.. many of us (I'm a Manchester City fan) return to the sites of our former stomping grounds to find flat earth or retail parks.
there aren't no names like highbury anymore in the modern stadiums there are only names of big billion making companies like emirates or etihad.. it's very sad
fucking miss that ground so much only 17 and the new stadium will never take highburys place that was arsenal the new ground is a load of shit bunch of wanker fans go there its to posh that video just brings tears to ur eyes such a good buzz and happy memories there that was arsenals home not the new one just a shame we will never see it again or be there again
I'm not even an arsenal fan and this was so painful to watch
Yeah its sad. It's like watching football die for corporate greed.
Fuck the Emirates. Nothing will replace the Home of football. From a chelsea fan lol
@@dwad3ify Historic ground, i'm an everton fan and i can't wait for us to get our new stadium.
@T P. You can't wait to leave Goodison? You're an imbecile. Piss off to Anfield.
I'm a Liverpool fan but will never get used to seeing a so many memories disappearing.
Emirate is amazing
But highbury is lagend
Miss highbury forever....

How are you now, 9 years on from this comment
Wembley , Highbury, Maine Road, The Den, The Dell, Ninian Park, Baseball Ground, Filbert Street.
All gone forever :(
mt573234
Wembley?
Kapii What he means is there was an old Wembley which got demolished and a new Wembley was built in its place
Painful to see :( and I'm a Chelsea fan

Both SHITHOLES !!
+star gate That's your opinion.
It's a terrible shame for you. You've lost the history and you'll never replace that with a concrete and glass monstrosity that looks as soulless as every other new stadium, and that includes ours. I never went to Highbury but I wish to god that I had. Heartbreaking video.
The stadium where I watched a football game for the first time on the world is unforgettable for me. Highbury was legend for me. We miss sometimes
13 years of mediocrity at the emirates. arsenal lost their soul when they left highbury.
200% bloody agree!
We really did. Kills me
Their glory is buried under the rubble
A lyric in the song playing over this
"just remember, this is what we chose"
Quite fitting
I would have taken my chances at Highbury..!!
I’m not Arsenal’s fan but it was one of my favourite stadium! :( when I watched on TV as if I was there inside. It was beautiful! Yes , Emirates is nice one but Highbury was something different magic. Always will be in my heart

Highbury was one of the greatest stadiums on the world... Very sad... greeting from Czech Republic
I miss the place it’s got a huge place in my heart my first game 1982 vs Aston Villa east stand upper £1 entrance 50p programme ❤️
Back when football was football not thos virtue signalling greed fest.
I'm not connected with Arsenal in any way, but this video was really moving. Emirates was a necessary step for the club, but Highbury will be thoroughly missed.
I was a North Bank regular. The Emirates will never mean as much to me or,I suspect, anyone whose home for years was Highbury.
Highbury the legend...always in my heart
This was a travesty this stadium should have preserved thought it was a listed building certainly East and west stands nothing compares to Highbury
My dad took me to my first game back in 1968 and then on felt Highbury was home and enjoyed good times and not so good times but as much as I miss Highbury we have to move forward so maybe goods times are coming .

Absolutely heartbreaking 💔

Emirates is a nice stadium but Arsenal glory days came from Highbury. Goosebumps all over. We Gooners miss you Highbury. R.I.P.
Gooners!!
This is still hard to watch 13 years on 😔
I loved Highbury, and I'll miss it because Arsenal had it's best moments on it, but I love Emirates
Thank you for the memories highbury. You will be missed
Our club died that day
Am a Liverpool fan so sad watching this about highbury all the great times for the gooners that they shared through the 93 years just smashed down its just wrong they just could of done something with highbury instead of moving please don't do this to are beloved anfield .

All their glory went down with it
i loved highbury. its logical that arsenal moved to a new stadium, but highbury should not have been demolished. Its a piece of beautifull english history.
respect from a feyenoord fan.

14 years on and what do we have? A bowl with no soul and a worse side now than we were back then
Highbury is not gone,as long as every arsenal fan keep it in they hearts...
Sad Sad....I,m an Ex Pat Aston Villa fan living nr Melbourne..Australia
These stadiums had a "special aura" which i think the new ones may never have. R I P Highbury.
What they demolished all those seats! I would have kept one in my garden.
We were supposed to be able to buy our seats but some idiot said they gave off a dangerous gas if kept indoors , personally I think they thought it was to much hassle!

Que Hermoso estadio era! :, /
tha was a fucking crime...some people(animals) destroy the memories and the feelings of so many generations of people just for the money...

I'm gonna cry...
Old Trafford still stands. Greatness endures
Have you actually been to Old Trafford before? , its on a industrial estate that is falling apart minute by minute, I would argue that its actually one of the worst
Not the same club anymore since we left our spiritual home.
Wenger admitted that in the interview with klopp.
Fitting song for a heartwrenching set of pictures... where did you get them from, cos i know arsenal tv online has a set of videos detailing the demolition but you've got some i aint seen before
made me wanna cry.
at least you had the chance to enjoy it, imagine me having to live so far away from the club of my heart :( and I will never experience highbury atmosphere.. Hope Emirates feels the same!
What's the name of the song? And who's singing it?
Brilliant stadium. Unlike that tin can they play in now.
Its a shame Arsenal and West Ham moved into some bowls, we will miss Boleyn Ground and Highbury, they never should have been demolished.
Really sad.
This is the first video ive ever found posted on my actual birthday…
This is very painful to see. It's like watching Old Trafford or Anfield being destroyed
If I was given unlimited money, the first thing I would do is buy Highbury and restore it to its previous state.
money makes money. acute housing shortage and the old stadium and new made into luxury flats. all very dodgy how they were able to destroy a listed building and build private
I worked on burger vans I miss it Highbury was good group
I agree, I think they should have kept it up an just used it as a museum or something
The atmosphere got way better once it turned to flats.
Haunting. Horrible. Like looking at photos of a deceased loved one who you miss dearly.
I'm not even English and this video got me really down... greetings from São Paulo FC, a team maybe as "boring" and hated as Arsenal =)
Im still gutted
um crying
ashburton grove maybe bigger in size than highbury but highbury definitely got a bigger ''heart and soul'' into it........
It would have been great to see Hull City play arsenal there next season Great little stadium i went there a couple of times
From a Hull Fan
I still cannot believe it. It's not like Highbury was a bad stadium with a poor pitch that lacked atmosphere or anything. Everything Arsenal won they won when they called Highbury home. no😭😭😭 :(
Quel sacrilège quel blasphème.., que les Monstres qui ont décidé cette ignominie pourrissent en enfer
pfff it is so painfull to see this.
erm mate where did you get some good photos from... one in the west stand i believe... although they are good photos, its not what i want to see... highbury RIP
Very sad. The Emirates will NEVER replace the real home of football.
What song this video ?? Please
It's Katie Melua, Piece by Piece (from an album of the same name)
@goonerash
Yes definitely. Housing estate on Maine Road now. Nothing's sacred in this world.
We all miss highbury dearly but im sure the emirates will have a great history ahead of it! Arsenal 4 life!
Bro
apparently the hated E word from the new stadium is only valid for another 13 years. After which it reverts to .....?
RIP Highbury
@DaveJP1973 its there in some form, but not the same......
still better than a tescos supermarket.....
That's to sad
fucking miss that ground so much only 17 and the new stadium will never take highburys place that was arsenal the new ground is a load of shit bunch of wanker fans go there its to posh that video just brings tears to ur eyes such a good buzz and happy memories there that was arsenals home not the new one just a shame we will never see it again or be there again
Nothing as sad as an old staduim being torn down.
