    Do you ever noticed that different areas and places are more accepting of you than others? For me, I've notice that i can walk down the main street of one suburb without a problem than walk down another and have people death staring

    Do you have any support systems in place in your area? I live in Ottawa, Canada, and we have a local Tourette Syndrome society chapter. The women who runs the chapter gives talks at local schools, both to the students and separate talks to the teachers. This service has been a huge benefit for my son.

    your 'coo' tic is pretty dang adorable, but I can only imagine how you must feel, I had a stroke years ago and to know what your brain is thinking but can't convey was soo frustrating.. I remember I was pretty much saying fuck every time I tried to speak for a while, almost like it was a tic but it was purely from the frustration that I couldn't get the words out or they would came out wrong. do you have the tics in you're thoughts as well, or is it only when you speak?

    I was in the lunch line at school and I was behind the popular people. The popular people always bully me and hate me for some reason idk. I don't even think they knew I was behind them so I was trying to hold in my tics so they wont notice me. I cant hold them in for too long so about two minutes later i just thought "fuck it" and let them out. One of them was "Get a life" and this girl turned around and said "what did you just say?" and I immediately said (tic) "fight me". Emily (the girl who was talking to me) said "wanna go? I have been waiting to fight you" and I said "no no no no it was a tic i'm so sorry." then I was about to run away and literally a couple seconds before I was about to run away, she punched me. I'm so fucking done.

      Ugh, that's terrible. Did the teachers or staff do anything? I think because a lot of people fantasize about having Tourette's so they can "say whatever they want" or something like that, some people might take what we say seriously. They don't bother to think that we still sometimes suffer the consequences of what we say, even if it's involuntarily. I'm really sorry that happened to you.

      i hope you punched her back... otherwise what was gained, she will now seek you out just to punish you because she knows she can.
      when pushed all ways shove back.... even if you get your ass kicked...besides pain is temporary living is forever
      hang in there

    • @snappleandcats8045
      @snappleandcats8045  7 років тому +1

      Livelaughloverepeat #rekt I wouldn't condone violence, but I agree that she shouldn't just get away with punching you. I really hope the teachers do something or that she learns a bit more about Tourette's and realizes what she did.

    do your ticks ever relate to something going on around you and make a situation awkward?

    • @slals
      @slals 7 років тому +4

      I saw a guy (he is on UA-cam, you can find his video) who were in an airport and who has tourette; "His tourette" said things like "There is an AK47 in my backpack"; "Terrorist!", so pretty much things related to airports with nowadays strong security due to terrorism. I would say it's sometimes related (but it might depend on the individual).

    Is your train of thought interrupted by your tics at any point? For example, when you have a string of tics, is your attention completely on them, or are you still aware of things and can react accordingly without needing things to be repeated? I love your videos by the way!

    • @snappleandcats8045

      Shalafi Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Most of the time I tune them out, but now that you mention it, earlier I got distracted by my "Canada" tic and accidentally typed Canada into my GPS lol.
