White labeling is such a fantastic idea ! I've never known the correct term for it aside from calling the relationship a "referral" but i see how in this case the 3rd person doesn't have to be hands on with the client ! Such great information. I truly appreciate you for sharing
I am gathering information to see what I really want to offer and what training I need to be able to offer a variety of quality services. I am all in! Thanks Abbey for all of your expertise and sharing!
Brilliant diverse thoughts and experience! Thank you for sharing! How do you handle taxes? Quarterly or yearly? What sorts of things can you write off etc.?
So glad you enjoyed the video! Here's a great blog post on taxes! As long as it's for your business you can write it off. www.thevirtualsavvy.com/virtual-assistant-tax-tips/
Great video. Great tips. Very resourceful. I appreciate your delivery and presence. Definitely great advice and super helpful. I have already subscribed. Thank you I look forward to your future videos and tips.
Awesome video Abbie! Working on creating VA HR Service packages along side my coaching practice. We appreciate you always providing do much value to us. #thankyou
Hi Abbey Thanks for the information. One quick question, let's say you already have a VA agency, then client contacts you and he said "I want someone to handle my social media channels, line up at least 4 candidates". Now, do I have to charge him for like a placement fee? reason being is sure you're interested, but we go out and find that talents, screen, interview, and when we the line up is in place and we try to tell you that the candidates are ready, then you can't reach the client anymore. How do you solve this? or how can we improve the process to avoid wasting effort
As a beginner I’m starting with general admin services with social media management/graphics. It seems most people want help with social media content rather than anything else so I want to work towards that as a specialty. Thank you for this video, it keeps things in perspective for me as far as pricing goes.
Abbey Ashley that’s good to know! Could you explain a little more about what that would look like if I were to offer that marketing wise & on the back end? I don’t have any programs really I use because I am waiting to see what clients are already using...though I have a general knowledge of most basic softwares or could quickly learn them.
Hey Abbey! I just stumbled upon your video and Im about to go down the rabbit hole...What brought me here was, I am looking for some type of work I can do from my computer or phone. I have a few skills I think would be of value to a social media influencer or youtuber, but im not exactly sure how i should market those skills, and which skills i should truly hone in on. hopefully ill find those answers in your vids!
Awesome!! That's so exciting! You're in the right place! I actually have a free training coming up next week that will walk you through how to get started and how to start marketing to land clients! thevirtualsavvy.com/crashcourse
Just wondering if there is a way to use my paralegal skills in a VA situation - perhaps legal transcription? I have not heard anything as specific as this. Thanks!
I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago. I had a client offer me a job as a virtual art assistant for him. He wants me to set up a Wix website, manage invoicing and sales. He said he'll pay $300 a week for 10 hours a week. Is that ok????
Seriously thinking about this. But I dont know about social media management. I was thinking it would be like doing typing and general office work. Ive never even thought about social media mgmt.
I may have to look into this VA business! I've been an Admin Asst 2 with the government for 19 years. My Goal is to make 80k or more a year. Is this possible? 😊
@Abbey Ashley: I am surprised to hear that the starting salary should be $30 an hour, even for general admin and if you are just starting out. I thought beginner Va's would start off with anywhere from $10 - $15 an hour.
You always want to make sure you're charging your worth! When it comes to setting your prices, it's completely up to you and what you feel comfortable with charging!
Could you tell me If I offer a Podcast service for a month? so how many hours I have to spend. How many episodes in the month I have to work with the client?
Hi! This is something that would have to be determined between you and the client. See what they want, and if you can provide it! :) Does that make sense?
So glad you enjoyed the training! Are you inside the VA Savvies Community? We have several Canadian Savvies inside the group! thevirtualsavvy.com/community

Hi Abbey, great video. I've never done VA work but I can type 70 wpm and am good with proof reading. I don't know how relevant that is to VA work. I work at Pizza Hut and I want to quit and work virtually full time. My goal is about $2000/month to start off. That would give me the freedom I want. Can you recommend a good company to start with?
That's awesome! Have you downloaded my free VA Checklist & Starter Kit? This is a great blueprint for getting started! ALSO, Facebook groups like the VA Savvies community are great for networking and finding clients! thevirtualsavvy.com/community
Abby your great you amazing.... abby which skills i can provide as a vertual assitant is email managment ,answering email ,fb ads calander managment and social media managment is oky can i charge 2500 dollars for all these skills..plz guide me
I have a really really hard time buying into this Abby. I’ve been researching VA and stumbled across your program for about a month now. However everytime I search for reviews, everything is wildly positive! Almost too positive though...like almost every review sounds the same. In every business it’s ok to have some bad reviews, it shows that they’re real. Yet every time I look for a single bad or even SLIGHTLY bad review I can’t find ANY. This is concerning to me as I’ve also heard you delete bad reviews. Help me understand why I as a customer to your class should trust you please? Help show me that this is real, where are the concerns for your class. NOTHING is 100% positive.
Hi, there! I replied to your other comment but will copy it here in case you don't see that one! :) Thank You for your comment! We feel really fortunate that we do what we do and really try to give amazing information to our communities either paid or unpaid. We are also fortunate to have raving fans, it's incredibly humbling to be supported the way we have. I can say that there are people that have not been happy with us, you are correct, you cannot please everyone. I would love for you to jump into our Facebook Group here: facebook.com/groups/vasavvies and ask those members. There are some who have chosen to be in our group but don't want to purchase our products and there are those who have. If you ask, you will get a very unbiased response. Our group is very active so you will get responses pretty quickly. Thank you for asking questions! You should always do your research! We appreciate you following us thus far and would love to know what you think of the content we have put out. ;)
As for your other question, my story is a little different than some. I started because I simply knew I didn't want to go back to my corporate job and I wanted to be home and present with my kids. I have a background in marketing, so I knew how to put myself out there and one day just started calling myself a VA. I reached out to potential clients, I joined entrepreneurial facebook groups, and I started with general admin work. I put in the time and effort to make my dreams a reality, and it paid off. I started signing clients and eventually had so many that I started subcontracting. I had so many people asking how I was actually doing things so I decided to create a course. My students have been so successful that word has spread and this part of the business took off. I love to serve and this allowed me to do that for SO many people that it just felt like the right avenue. I no longer offer any VA services to clients.
Well that $30 per hour job is being done by $5 an hour by someone from South Asia or Philippines. Don't give your audience high expectations. There are hundreds of freelancers in upwork who are working for $5 and I cant say they are bad at what they are doing.
I do appreciate your input, but my students are thriving in their businesses and making great money and charging the going rates. Check out this page www.thevirtualsavvy.com/reviews
This is the only post on this page that bears any relation to reality. The rest are the usual "video maker supporters" claiming you can earn tens of thousands of dollars from the business activity discussed. And forget the fake reviews, mentioned in the other comment here.

I would definitely charge something upfront for the work that you do do source, interview, etc.

Most VA's start at $20 or $25 per hour so $300 a week for 10 hours a week is awesome cause you will be making $30 per hour

Hi! This is something that would have to be determined between you and the client. See what they want, and if you can provide it! :) Does that make sense?
So you recommend charging per hour as opposed to charging per task?
So the package is $400 a month in addition to the hourly pay for basic admin assistance? Or including the basic admin?
awesome video. Im wondering how it work as I'm in Canada just starting out. Should I charge 20$ CND??

Hi Abbey if I'm from South Africa can I still become a virtual assistant for someone in the United States?
Yes! That's one thing I love about Virtual Assistance-- your location does not limit you to clients!
