    A two tone black and red would be nice. Black on top and Red underneath. Red would be more visible, show that something is missing and have an added benefit of staying cleaner than white.

    I was a Aviation Hydraulic Mechanic in the Navy for five years. I did specialized maintenance of F-18c/d flight control actuators. We had a very similar method for tool control. Was not so much about being organized, as it was about making sure all tools were accounted for. Leaving a tool inside a component that was going to go up in a multi-million dollar aircraft with a person inside of it was not acceptable. I loved the system. I have some tool boxes that need this foam very badly. Best fence is going to be first though. Love the videos, keep up the stellar work Fastcap !

    It is a great question. Every time I've been to Japan I have asked my mentor what Kaizen means..."to make good". I love that name. And from a marketing standpoint, it sounds better then 5S. We have a whole line of Kaizen products: Kaizen Korners, Kaizen Garden, Kaizen boxes etc. Thanks, Paul

    It is a great video. I was impacted by the effect of Kaizen foam. it provide completed 5S condition for organization. I hope we could do it in China.

    We don't currently have the reverse, but you can get this same effect by gluing (2P-10) or taping (SpeedTape) the 20mm white to the 30mm black. Paul

    Perhaps you are correct, but we have found the opposite. We create a system that everyone understands, that guarantees the tool will be put back and be available for the next person. We feel the time spent implementing is much less then the time gained. Paul.

    After many years of use my old 18v cordless batteries gave up the ghost. The New set only came with a soft case which let every thing float around, Which I did not like.
    Found your Product and thought Wow So I bought a hard case online and since it was a different brand my tools didn't fit. so I spent days cutting out the Blow molded insert and fitting Kaizan foam to the bottom to hold the Drill, Impact driver, Batteries and charger Boy is it a great Idea but it was trouble fitting.

    The black & white looks great. Can you offer it in reverse colors as an alternative option? White with a black shadow of the tool? Just curious. Love this product already, and haven't even used it yet.

    You are very perceptive. That was a good catch. I had edited that out. That happened in the engineering department so that was the funny part. They had taken a normal KD door guide and modified it and made a stop. But they had pulled it in and out it so many times they bent past the stop. So when we filmed it, it fell out. Good Observation. Paul

    Wasted a sheet trying to peel the foam to fit but found a better way.
    Trace the tool out then cut the tracing completely through remove the slug you traced and then shave off the layers needed. I suggest you shave off the backside so that when you replace the Fitted plug the flat side is up It looks great
    If you guys at Fastcap have any other way to fit big items please put up a video.
    But great product

    I think there's a time and a place for Kaizen /5S tool storage...but not EVERYWHERE. The main issue I have with it is that it wastes a vast amount of cabinet or tool drawer real estate.

    I want to use this in my work as we are 5S and switching to lean at our company. The problem is we are a pharmaceutical company and I don't think this is clean room compatible! Going to be trying to brainstorm materials we would be able to use.

    Any consideration to different top foam colors? We could have blue foam station where the blue tools may go, and black foam for black station tools.

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  9 років тому

      +nevetsgray We could easily do it, but it complicates the number of different types of foam we would have to carry. So far we have had no problem finding where the tool is to be returned to because every tool is GPS. Paul

    Could you do an explanation of the coordinates label system akin to GPS?

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  5 місяців тому

      @thinktank8286 Since this video we have taken our GPS a step further. Since we moved to our new facility in 2014 we now do color coordinations. Here is a link to what we use in our facility and some videos that show how we use it: www.fastcap.com/product/gps-kit At our old building each warehouse was assigned a number so we did our coordinates based on the Warehouse number. For example, if you were in Warehouse #1 the tool would have the build location name, and "#1" on a label and it would be stuck to the tool. Then the Kaizen foam would have a matching label so you knew where the tool was supposed to go.

    Is it the same price from retailers?

  • @FastCapLLC
    @FastCapLLC  11 років тому

    It really means make “good”, NOT continuous improvement. The interesting thing is the “good” is the “good v evil” good-it is a moral value-not good as in “better v worse”. So literally FastCap’s Kaizen Foam takes a messy tool box which could be “bad” or at best “morally neutral” and make it “morally good”. i.e. people feel great about their job, they respect their tools which in turn helps them respect the company property around them which in turn helps them respect the people around them.

    hi guys hope business is booming I was just wondering do you do black and green layers?? as I need to redo my airsoft rifle case as the egg foam is really beat up now and im trying to find the best foam I can for my case I own a PTS hard case so finding the right size for my case is proving tricky as I don't want to buy more then I need as ill end up wasting a lot of it. I also need to replace my foam as im looking to do a rifle case and rifle review for my channel as I have a lot of people asking me on my instagram and Facebook page if I would show them my case and rifle's but I would really like to find a black and neon green coloured foam. thanks for reading and look forward to your reply if you want to reply.

      We currently do not make green inner layer foam, but if you wanted to, you could take our 20 mm foam paint it green and then use another layer of foam for the cut out which would show green below. Paul

    what is a lean way to organize many keys in a car dealership?

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  8 років тому

      The real answer is that's the beauty of lean is you need to try things and discover this for yourself. You will become a world-class problem solver in the process. That being said, Walters and Wolf have a number or Lean Keys videos. Maybe one will inspire you. ua-cam.com/channels/FyGskstcUF-yknIermcgzA.htmlsearch?query=keys

    I disagree I do woodworking in my apartment. I have built wooden toy boxes for both my Grandsons and am doing various furniture items Without a Workshop.
    Without Organization this would not be possible I use a folding Table saw, and many custom fixtures to do my work. as there is not enough room for full sized dedicated tools. Custom storage allows many of us to use a space more productively than just putting tools away. Time is the least expensive part of the equation that we have.

    but what I see is that this system is super wasting space. I was trying to get this system for my garage tools, but later figure out that I will have to buy another tool box in order to fit all my current tools in. but my tools only take about half of the box. Now I know why professionals have 3-4 or even more 8-drawer boxes to fit their tools. I am more a minimalist than an organizer.
