Question: What if I am looking to purchase 40 acres of new land in order to plant new almonds, grapes or any kind of crop. Does the farmer only begin payments once the 1st crop comes in a couple years down the road OR do payments begin right away and right out of the gate?
I sell commercial poultry farms owned by private individuals who contract with integrators like Tyson, Butterball, Simmons, etc. Insurance is becoming an issue on poultry houses 30+ years old. Insurance companies do not want to insure these steel truss, 40 x 450 houses, but I could get insurance on a 30 year old apartment building. Seems like an inspector could personally look at the structures to determine if they have been well maintained and look like a good risk rather than just turning any poultry house 30+ yrs old down flat? How can an owner ever sell these businesses? Lenders require insurance. FYI - I know farms that are over 50 yrs old and still raising poultry. Thank you for your videos!
I own a house in NY and want to buy agriculture farm through USDA help in TX., to start agriculture farming, may I eligible for this ? My only earing is rental and social security income.
Either this video is off or someone at my FSA is lying to me. All their programs require 3 years farm management experience. They don't count any of my time as a farm worker. In my area that makes the farm owner's kids the only qualifiers.
I hope you had an answer in the meantime, but it is experience as a worker with significant managerial responsibilities for example: I scouted an orchard block for 2 year, provided pest mgmt recommendations, interpretted soil tests for fertilizer application, and monitored growth stage indicators for yield prediction and harvest timing.
Hey hope you’re doing good my name is Sean I’m trying to apply for a micro loan for 50,000 the problem I have the application is very difficult for me to complete I did 75% already if it’s possible I really like you to help me to complete the application thank you
If your just getting started just remember to apply for all the government subsidies and welfare relief you can at the taxpayers expenses and you're going to be fine after the taxpayers have paid your land and equipment off then you can act like your somebody and that you worked hard filling out the forms for the free money and to prove that your really important take some of the welfare money you have left and buy a bunch of no trespassing signs to keep the taxpayers that bought your land off...
Also forget about the corporations and companies purely subsisting off of subsidies based on policies and laws from over 100 years ago, and pretend you’re feeding the world when really all your mono-cropped corn is going towards coca-cola and factory animal feed
Let’s try not to think about the generational farmers, who may or may not (hahaha) have murdered/displaced the people - or at minimum, benefitted by the genocide of the people. And remember to hate on the people from the 1800-1900’s who received government assistance through homesteading acts to start up their work - big drain on the tax payers, right?
This is exactly what I was looking for to develop a small farm
This is such great information. Thank you.
I'll be starting a new farm. Thank you for the help.
Nice. Rooting for u
Now that you registered I hope you don’t regret it when they come after your farm..... and produce
I’ll be looking into this program. Definitely want to be a farmer who can produce wide variety of crops within a small piece of land.

Thank you for the information.
What about those with no revenues because they can't start operations and get denied everywhere for having too much debt?
thank you

How disappointing but not too surprising. Curtis Stone has a lot of great info on starting out farming other people's yards. Best wishes!
@@lcoteeCurtis stone ?
You can substitute the 3 years of schedule F tax income with other things.

Does it matter if the ranch or farm is a nonprofit?👀
It matters now that you told them... they will definitely be looking into you next
Am inerested in expanding beef farming in Laikipia Kenya. Where can I access funding ?
This is for the United States… that’s what the ‘US’ stands for in ‘USDA’ - hope that helps.
