Honestly it’s the second best game franchise ever especially now a days. Unfortunately I’m not much of a reader, I don’t enjoy reading, and I always fall asleep so I’ll never read the books but I’m sure they are just as good probably even better than the games.
My favorite part in metro exodus was a reference to the jungle book Artyom is hanging out with his Comrade at a river he asked I wonder if I can talk to these animals like Mowgli The reason why I like this is because they pronounce his name right Disney Jon Favreau and Andy Circus cannot pronounce his name right , then it made me wonder if Mowgli can talk to the mutated animals in the Metro series like the librarian demons and a mutated Russian bear?
Lived in Moscow from 95 to 98. In the end I lived near the Kievskaya metro station. Russian people were really kind. I will never forget that. Thank you.
I'm glad to see someone else who loves Metro as a work of art instead of just giving it another typical review as a game/book series. The story is great, all of the characters are well done and full of personality, the lore, it's amazing. Heck, I even bought an AK in 5.45 and changed out parts to resemble the Kalash from Last Light.
Dude, I like you very much. That was so very well said, "Now that I'm an adult I don't play as much video games as I should". Key word there is "Should".
Yes Man! Great video Metro is one of the greatest series out there and is extremely underrated I just played through Metro Exodus twice in 2019 one of the only games in past few year yo be released a finished quality product. And also before I even get to the point in the video I would like to say that because of the Metro games I have taken a large amount of time to study moscow's Metro System, it was actually designed as a shelter and all major stations do actually have hermetic doors. In terms of D6, it is possible that just the shit we know about the Soviets built a bunker system down there during the second world war.. that alone should tell you its probably pretty extensive.
The Metro in Metro2033 is not self sufficent; its mentioned over and over that flooding, rats, mutants and radiation push further and that those that go to the surface bring precious resources back, to the point that even regular wood is good salavge on the surface
Honestly, I can't think of any game that has had me as invested in the atmosphere as much as the Metro series. The random citizens huddled around a fire and having a chat, the vendors peddling weapons and goods, the decrepit tunnels hiding their secrets, I honestly would love if a Roleplaying Game in the Metro world was made, I just want to see more of it.
What is the maximum capacity of the Flood's abilities on the cellular or atomic level? Can they adapt to cellular dangers like say the Forerunners construct a nano machine virus that would breakdown the Flood super cell replicate then advance, could the Flood adapt to those situations like the Tyranids do? And another question can the Flood with enough biomass create any Flood pureform in any shape, size, and body structure as they want like the Tyranids do but much much faster?
Graveminds could grow to the size of planets, becoming Keyminds. The humans tried to develop a counter agent to the flood, but it didn’t work. Funny part is, the flood faked being effected by it so they could gather more biomass in secret and let the Forerunners kill the humans off.
Bro, Metro Last Light was one of my favorite games of all time! I loved the part were you end up by your self after you leave the communist and are forced to survive on your own. It really made feal so alone.
I am about to play this for the first time, on Xbox 360 because I want it's original feel and atmosphere. I own both Redux's and Exodus on Series X because of Game Pass, but never played. I spent 3 months waiting for copies of 2033 and Last Light to ship to me, just to play it's original release on Xbox 360. They both arrived today. I will play the Redux after this, then the original Last Light and it's Redux, finishing with Exodus. I just finished the first book and it was fantastic, I highly recommend the "fan-english-fixed" version as it corrects a LOT of translation errors and grammar mistakes from the original, English version. Great video, I've been watching a lot of this game and I'm super interested in exploring the metros and experiencing the atmosphere, having about committed suicide after coming from 100+ hours of Fallout 3.
How dare you show Primal in that opening. It is so much more distinct than the other Far Cry's. It's world feels incredibly alive and the interaction between systems is robust for Ubisoft. I recommend anyone readibg this to give it a chance. It's an excellent and incredibly underrated game.
I just started playing Metro Exodus a week ago. Its good but I can't past the zombie mutant in the car in the desert because I can't press X fast enough.
BTW I was in Moscow and they do not entirely deny the existence of Metro-2. Albeit they claim - if you believe it - that construction was mostly abandoned because it was realised how with large hydrogen bombs all the stuff was getting increasingly academic.
There was a hotel in Moscow city center that was demolished since it was from the time of Stalin era and was rumored to connect to the Metro 2 line since FSB showed up to secure the area from the public.
Hell yes, my favourite franchise of all time finally! Have both the redux’s, the original 2033, and exodus on both Xbox and PC, and currently doing a whole marathon of them all on ranger hardcore! Remember comrades, if it’s hostile... you kill it.
I remember when i got metro 2033, i was so blown away by how good it was. The sequal was really good too. The last wasnt my favorite but i only played a little of it also, didnt buy it so cant say for sure. Man 2033 and last light were just so good, had to describe what it was like finding the game at the time i did. When i relized too that advertisments ment nothing for the quality game of a game. Infact, i grew a mistrust for games that were to well advertised and everywhere. Games sell themselves when there good enough.
I don’t think so, in some sense, as humanity after being in a enclosed space for a long time can generate “Cabin Fever” leading to possible delirium, which may dissipate in later generations, but Metro would never happen as the generation that entered the Metros would probably kill themselves or each other like in one of the Vaults from the Fallout series
Are you planning to address the most interesting question which is could hundreds of people really survive in a subway station for decades, and of course how long could we hold out against the mutants? If you are watching in Moscow and the Big One hits... I hope you make it.
No game has ever made me feel that it 100 percent deserved the money I have invested in it other than metro exodus, this game feels awesome Ps. This is just my opinion
@Generation Films have you guys watched Altered Carbon? If so could you do a video on the series and the morality behind using stacks to download the human consciousness onto fancy computer chips and using them to become effectively immortal and the effect it could have on humanity as we know it?
uuuuuuuuuh Amazing! One of my favorite game series! Also yes, the russian nihilism is... uhm... slightly noticable :D One of the reasons why I love the games so much.
So, just a few questions: 1. How are they growing crops.? They may have livestock they can eat, but humans can not exist long term on meat alone. And livestock needs to be fed as well. 2. Waste management? Where are they disposing of the massive amount of waste 200k people generate? 3. Ventilation. How are they filtering the air they need and disposing of CO2 and other gases? 4. How are they powering all of this? Where are they getting fuel if they are using generators?
1.They grow mushrooms, potatoes and other tough stuff underground. Also chickens for eggs. 2. Just throw it outside. also recycling is a big part of society 3.Well, airfilter. The subwaysystem is build as a nuclear shelter in mind. 4. A generator needs more than just fuel, also i guess they had a lot of it in reserve. You can use wind, musclepower, heat, water, etc.
As fantastic as Exodus was, I like the first two games better, 2033 being my favorite. I have also read all of the main books, 2033, 2034, and 2035, and I love the story. I just really liked the dark, cramped, bleak atmosphere of the earlier games. My favorite part of Exodus was Novosibirsk and the Two Colonels DLC. I enjoyed the open world, and the journey to a better life, but what I've always loved about Metro was, well, the Metro. I hope the next installment features a return to the tunnels to some extent. I'm looking forward to the movie, should be out 2022!!
The Metro series truly is a masterpiece and deserves any and all praise. For what they had to work with, 4A made a game that blew Westerj AAA companies out of the water with 1/10th of the budget and even shittier working conditions. Why a Western company can’t make a good, realistic, hardcore post-apocalyptic game I will never understand. It’s all bullshit like Far Cry and Rage. They have the money but as long as Call of Duty type shoot em ups are popular, why should they make a game with any depth? If only more companies were like 4A
It would be cool seeing Fallout 5 be more realistic in terms of Radiation. Maybe even take place in the Metro system. Maybe New York City's metro.... Or.... Atlanta Metro system? But eh idk.
I have experienced the Metro system in both Moscow and St. Petersburg (where spin-off novels within the _Metro 2033_ universe are set) and have to admit that they are a one-of-a-kind sight in their very own right. And it's pretty unnerving to read the book series reencountering places one has seen in real life, such as the (in-universe utterly devastated) "Raduga" shopping mall where I actually purchased some things or the Metro station "Park Pobedu" where my dad had his apartment when he was working in St. Petersburg - the latter's namesake park was already unsettling enough knowing that it's essencially a giant mass grave for the victims of the 900 days siege of St. Petersburg/Leningrad in WW2 - but in the 2033 series it's also depicted as the territory of some deadly mutants the protagonists have some close encounters with. I think having visited these places in person makes the series even more captivating.
I want the behind the scenes where Allen decides this is an interesting topic, I want to cover it... Oh (censored) I need to pronounce Russian names... Ahh what can we do?
So if you got to these tunnels would you be able to escape the fallout zones to somewhere you can farm? If you had nuclear reactors that could power aquaponic farming underground you might live for a decade or two but probably not in very good health sooner or later you need to be able to leave.
If you like the books, there's no way you can hear "Park Pobedy" without shivering, worst station in the Metro 2033 universe, I will always remember the chapters about it.
Make sure you play the remastered games as they look and play a LOT better. The books can be puzzling when they mention all the different stations as my brain doesnt handle Russian well
Not watched yet but in short. Yes we could but I wouldn't recogmend it as it'd have all sorts of negative effects on our eyesight, skin, sleep, sense of time, direction and multiple other things. Ok gonna watch now. Look forward to hearin your thoughts.

So Russias Elite arent living in the Ural and are just in a second metro under the main one?
StarPaladinNelaj the ural bunker was were they were gonna go to help restore the nation but because of how hard Moscow was hit they couldn’t leave. So they set up the local factions with jammers and decided this is Russia’s last stand. And they control from metro 2.

I absolutely love the metro series and I believe it’s a very underrated and under appreciated series that deserves way more credit than it gets. Honestly it’s the second best game franchise ever especially now a days.
Unfortunately I’m not much of a reader, I don’t enjoy reading, and I always fall asleep so I’ll never read the books but I’m sure they are just as good probably even better than the games.
You could listen to the audio recordings of the books
Its not underrated nor underappreciated. I hate those terms. They are just not so well known and the gameplay isnt for everybody
Its 3 am And in Lazy to use a translator 😂 but :
Hrál jsem a četl knížky, a mohu říct, že se skvěle doplňují, něco je v knížce, neco zase ve hře... Třeba legendární Chán a jeho hlášky se v knížkách vyskytují minimálně, ale naopak exodus je v podstatě pokračování po knížce metro 2035. :)
My little dog is names mowgli so I cant read without thinking of him

“4A games made this in a cave! With a bunch of scraps!”

And now we actually might be on the brink of this happening.
Me from the future. Might wanna rethink your cyberpunk plans for a while.
Loved the books, just wish they were translated better. At least the copies i got sometimes seemed like an elementary kid wrote it

Love playing Metro!
That was the best way I have ever heard to describe the books. Russian Nihilism dialed to ten.
I believe the Mass Effect series has a one of the richest and most beautiful Games ever made Alan!!
Fun fact: There are more Assassin’s Creed games than Call of Duty games. Also, saying CD Projekt Red did the right thing with Cyberpunk... Hindsight.
If your gonna say Russian, always use a computer voice lol
I gotta go back to earn that platinum trophy for Metro 2033 Redux. I gotta give it some love, especially since it has zero micro transactions.
The Metro games are all awesome in my opinion. I think they are also very realistic.
Kept pissing me off
The animals are pretty annoying at times.
Rascoe Hunter an over pressurized Tikar ball to the dome works really well on the humanimals. So do the incendiary balls

BTW I was in Moscow and they do not entirely deny the existence of Metro-2. Albeit they claim - if you believe it - that construction was mostly abandoned because it was realised how with large hydrogen bombs all the stuff was getting increasingly academic.
I love the metro series. It's probably the best series in the genre.
There was a hotel in Moscow city center that was demolished since it was from the time of Stalin era and was rumored to connect to the Metro 2 line since FSB showed up to secure the area from the public.
I loved all the Metro games and played since it’s beginning. My favorite gaming series hands down.
My guy may I suggest S.T.A.L.K.E.R its basically it but a bit more into roadside picnic instead
I loved this series.. Played the whole series. Highly recommend.
Good one. Hello from Moscow.
Привет из Канады
Hi from Canada lol 🤣
Do we all agree that Assassins Creed 1 was amazing ? It was mysterious and weird in a good way. Far Cry 2 was good too
I don’t think so, in some sense, as humanity after being in a enclosed space for a long time can generate “Cabin Fever” leading to possible delirium, which may dissipate in later generations, but Metro would never happen as the generation that entered the Metros would probably kill themselves or each other like in one of the Vaults from the Fallout series
ВДНХ, where Artyom lives, is actually deep.
It will be great if there is a similar video about the Metro Exodus locations like the summer camp near lake Baikal and the Caspian Sea.
Are you planning to address the most interesting question which is could hundreds of people really survive in a subway station for decades, and of course how long could we hold out against the mutants?
If you are watching in Moscow and the Big One hits... I hope you make it.
No game has ever made me feel that it 100 percent deserved the money I have invested in it other than metro exodus, this game feels awesome
Ps. This is just my opinion
@Generation Films have you guys watched Altered Carbon? If so could you do a video on the series and the morality behind using stacks to download the human consciousness onto fancy computer chips and using them to become effectively immortal and the effect it could have on humanity as we know it?
Thought you would discuss how they get food and stuff... if you can survive in a metro tunnel for your whole life.
I just love this series .. best games i ve ever played
uuuuuuuuuh Amazing! One of my favorite game series!
Also yes, the russian nihilism is... uhm... slightly noticable :D One of the reasons why I love the games so much.
Loved the Star Wars reference in metro exodus
So, just a few questions:
2. Just throw it outside. also recycling is a big part of society
3.Well, airfilter.
Hey Allen could you guys do more vids on the metro series?
Watching this video and seeing the cyber punk 2077 part
Honestly tho the metro games are one of my favourite ever, so good imo
But eh idk.
Hey Allen could you do a vid on the Anomaly from the metro serie and please explain what the hell this thing is? I love your guys vids man btw
"If you don't mind Russian nihilism..."

"Yeah, I'm sold."
Dude no way I’m so glad you did a video on metro
So if you got to these tunnels would you be able to escape the fallout zones to somewhere you can farm? If you had nuclear reactors that could power aquaponic farming underground you might live for a decade or two but probably not in very good health sooner or later you need to be able to leave.
i dont mind to play the same game all the time, as long as the map and graphics are interesting

How would the CIS and GAR navies (the Expanded Universe versions) fair against Warhamer 40k Imperium ships since the Star Wars weaponry in the Expanded Universe is alot more powerful how much damage could they do against the Imperium's ships which are basically bulky super mega fortresses?
The Imperium would mostly likely win.

I’d say one reason the price difference in production is the average pay of workers. You’re not gonna produce the same game in the US on the same price because (I assume) the wages for hourly work is more expensive in the US.
My tip is read Metro 2033 and 2034, and skip 2035, unless you really wanna feel like shit after having read and enjoyed the other two books! Post apocalyptic depression at its finest!
