Old aircraft engines in cars are magnificently brilliant
what about new aircraft engines?
You could say magnificently and mechanically brilliant!
Easy boomer
Check out the Flying Milyard. Alan Milyard is a genius...
Gorgeously dazzling!
there's just something about these magnificent old brutes.
Who ? Mike ?
"I've finished designing the car!"
"what do you mean, there's nowhere for the driver to sit!"
"ah, it doesn't matter, we'll just hang some seats off the back, it'll be fine!"
95% engine 5% car
Red Baron be like
Best 400 seconds you can have with a set of wheels ever :)
There needs to be a proper documentary on these cars. Would be fascinating to watch.
This needs (and deserves) more than 2 minutes! What a beast and what an amazing sound it makes 2:16
That driver is not afraid of her is he? Nice seeing it being driven a little enthusiastically!
Thank goodness there are chaps like you who keep these gentlemanly beasties roaring spitting and grunting for chaps like me. thanks again
"What am I going to do with the rest of my life". Drive it! You have well earned every second of enjoyment!
Thanks for excentric Englishman, what a wonderful machine, a credit to you, superb
250 hp 3k ft/lbs torque?! that thing can tow a moon if it wants to!
are you kidding me? it's what's causing the earth to rotate.
+Emmanuel Thommy This much torque with bike wheels :3
That car.
With ease, and enough to bump start planets when it can find traction.
Ford needs to start reproducing these old aircraft engines and put them in trucks.
Absolutely fantastic car and wonderful old school of engineering. Proper in every way.
This is the true essence of passion behind the wheel . Charming film .
I have always thought that the best thing about driving an Edwardian car is that you sit on one.. never in one! 🏆
People like this make life just that little bit richer. Love it.
what a great piece of engineering!
There is something about a car with a seriously oversized engine! It doesn't make any difference whether the design is from the earliest days of automobiles or the latest. Such a sight never gets old!
I think that might be the coolest car ever.
thats an amazing car the sound the smell the noise hard work very very nice car and he is right u need to drive this not only stand there and look pretty but run also
So bonkers......it's brilliant!!!! I hope these will be at Festival of Speed this year....
This is brilliant... just Imagen passing a police car driving that!
Pass it at 127 MPH. Take the ticket to court. No judge in the world would make you pay. Either they would understand or they wouldn't believe.
Subscribe to Goodwood for more Edwardians videos, coming every Wednesday!
+Goodwood Road & Racing Yeah using all the same clips for 3-4 different named videos is nice thing to do? 'Every video needs to be original content not multiple of same or do you really need those youtube moneys to pull it like that.
Until this Video i don`t believe that`s a Vehikel
exist thats cooler is than, the Brutus....but this one.....no Word exept: AMAZING! (uuuuuh my English ist bad, hope you understand it.....-.-)
Sounds awesome!!!! Where do folks find these old aircraft engines?
I would think Europe has many wartime wrecks just about everywhere.
This has got to be one of the best sounding cars ever.
00:30 absolutely brutal. Not to shit on US cars at all, but even a 400cui V8 has got *nothing* on this.
Ever came across the fiat s76, 28.4L straigh 4 it’s mental
@@cameronrichardson3108 Yeah, it's crazy lound and spits fire and everything, but I think it doesn't really make music. As opposed to this one.
Incredible, glorious, lunacy! A 1905 rail job. Beep, beep!
(How does he get away with driving it on the road? I'm not complaining, just wondering.)
cool i really like those jackets some one should post a link to them
Vous êtes vraiment des pros de la restauration mes amis anglais. Félicitations pour vos belles mécaniques 🚘👍🤩. Un breton
3,000 Ibs feet of torque...Christ all mighty O_o ..... it would definitely be interesting to see race car drivers of today drive cars of the past like that one, it would definitely test their skills to say the least
In a word, perfect
Brilliant vid and beauty car! What a beast..Thanks..
"It's got about 250 hp" me "And you claim this can go 127 mph? C'mon now..."
"but it's got about 3,000 pounds of torque" me "OH MY GOSH CAN I DRIVE IT?!?!?!"
Magnificent.
Beautiful!
The fuel economy of this thing is probably in GPM
Oh... My... God... Im in love!
1917 aye that's 103 years Damn that's amazing
5 years ago and I just found it? Unforgivable. 🤔
He could hook up a set a doubles and pull produce. Tomatoes, sugar beets...40 tons would be a snap with 3000 lbft of torque
wow just lovely .
So perfect 50/50 weight distribution ?
127mph around 1905--1910 VERY VERY FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Superb
Even few modern truck engines have that much torque, imagine this car doing 125mph with the rpm a modern car engine is idling with. This car could tow a train.
“What am I going to do for the rest of my life?” You could put a seatbelt in it for your wife!
She's pumping the fuel. If she comes close to falling out it'll stop in a few yards :)
Anyway, the arm strength supplying this beast with fuel must demand, she'll rip the seat out before falling off :)
So cool 😀
another example that straight 6 engines are the best :)
1 dislike.. I hope that person breaks a finger.. This is all the magic that you can get from a car.. Modern day plasitc and fitted tech items are just a simple way for a corporation to get more money.. You wont find awesomeness in comfort..
it's 11 now
@@myMotoring That's two fingers!!!!!! ✌️ 😂
@@wordreet 😂
Probably they are some filthy tesla fanboys...
@@manuelchiarotto2692 Oh I like Tesla's cars, but not their attitude. Oh, again, and not that bloody awful pickup truck!
What am I going to do with the rest of my life.....wake up the neighbors of course.
This is way cool!
There's something about those old Italian cars even back then they just had that certain je ne sais quoi
😂😂😂 A great huge bonnet with a couple of seats bolted on the back. Kinda like strapping yourself on the backside of a massive engine and tagging along for the ride.
What am I going to do with the rest of my life?? Drive it man!! Drive it! ;D
Long live Britain! 🇬🇧
The very early automobiles,they wrote history,now everybody makes cars,Hyndai ,Kia,tata,Honda etc,etc
It’s like a steampunk slingshot dragster
Love it very cool 😎
Any idea how much costs the Fiat? Just to give us an idea of how far I am from the dream.
holy fraschini
MAD GEEZER look no seatbelts!!!
When was it build? The chassis is 1905 and the engine is 1917? Is the torque correct? Isn't it 820 lbs/ft?
Is the old engine relatively healthy or has some areas that could use "freshing up"..?
Awesome car, this old Yank is very jealous.
FRASCHINI IS PRONOUNCED "FRASKEENEE"
FILIPPOHIPPY KILLER grazie
просто сказка!
3,000 ft pounds of torque!
Just out of curiosity...how much would a running example of something like this sell for? Like a ballpark figure.
+Shayan Hussain Honestly, there's probably no price for these kind of machines. I doubt there's what you could call a market for them, and best way to eventually get an idea would be to check auctions, in case some random WWI fighter engined "supercar" shows up. But as you can see on RM/Sotheby's listing for cars from 1900 to 1920, price range is all over the place.
this easily a 300k car
400 seconds of tyre time? Under 7 minutes before he has to put new tyres on? That can't be right even with 3000lb ft and 4 inch tyres.
+Stevo1361 probably 400 seconds of wheelspin
Это очень круто!
2 prius owners disliked this clip, poor diddums.
Hi, where is this beautiful country?
England.
The Cotswolds, to be precise(ish).
Has more torque than the Packard Bentley
Anybody know what the thing in the section behind the engine is? Gas tank?
bitfreakazoid yup
Put a set of drag radials on it!
Hi Mike ( Vardy) Love the car
Would love to get in touch
Simon the thatcher
Did he say 3k lbs of torque? Good Lawd no wonder it takes off like a tank..
Fiats old cars are bigger and faster then their newer cars.
I bet you are only doing 60mph at 700rpm.
sounds like a lorry .. has the torque of a Lorry
but it has skinny tires 🤔
If it had wide grippy tires. That torque, would blow any driveline.
Axle snapper
stupendously naughty.
3000 foot pounds of torque, 3 inch wide tires.
2 miles to the gallon…. But we’ll worth it
Are we talking about 338.95 nm torque or i am wrong????
I think you're out by a factor of 10+.
The first converter I got from Google says 4'067.45Nm
🤣👍
Took em 90 plus years to get 60mph more from a road car
Now,That is what a car Should be!
All the rest are just pretend.
I love the idea, it would be great if I could make a striped down version, make it look nice & actually donate it to a real homeless guy that would appreciate it, use it & care for it.
You don't see them on the road and shouldn't be on the road, no blinker, stop lights or even guards. Hey don't get me wrong I love these old cars but not missed in with the everyday traffic.
Specialized 29er sorry thumbs down. The car quite clearly has tail lights: right side visible after 1:03 , and left after 1:29. Yes they have chimneys . So what? It also has a Lisence plate. It must predate all manor of more modern regulation. That’s a grandfather that has more than earned its place on the road.
Putting a lot of trust in those spoked rear wheels!
3000 FTLBS of TORQUE!!! Wow
That man has an awesome wife.
Its ugly. Its one of the few that are genuinely ugly. But what a noise.
Also that guy and his wife would not be out of place in a black and white film lol.
Dragon Butt what about it makes it ugly? with cars like this it's the mechanical aspect that makes them great. none of the people who built these cars did it for looks. they built it to go fast
