Hey, Everyone! Just wanted to give a few corrections and clarifications on some of this video after using the device more: The Toggle is used to select the recording mode. Toggling up (in red) is for Phone Recording Mode, while toggling down is for Note Recording Mode. The recording mode will become a tag for transcription later, which is used to distinguish the recording content. Regarding the Magsafe Case, it can be used for both iOS and Android phones. You can find the Magsafe Ring in the standard packaging box, and by sticking this ring to a non-Magsafe phone, you can use the Magsafe Case normally. I have one. Simple missing functionality that most dictation devices have is auto-pause. If you forget to stop recording, it records silence for an hour. It could pause when detecting no voice for x minutes then unpause when detecting voice. This would reduce dead air recordings and waste of minutes. 600 minutes should be of voice recordings, not empty space

Samsung galaxy just got an update for the note app to do exactly this, but the transcription capability didn't work very well, the microphones on the device have awesome performance.
The switch on the back is not to turn it on or off. It is to switch between modes. If you flip the switch down, it uses the internal microphones to record notes or an inperson meeting. If you flip the switch up, so you see the red indicator, you record over bluetooth. It's a little misleading and until i figured this out (it IS in the quick start guide btw)... i was not getting great results. After you use these properly, i think you will be impressed.
This is an important point. Q) Can my Bluetooth headset be used to get a clean noise-free recording? I don't like to use the phone pressed up to my head. Thank you!
Your review was very helpful but there’s one big question that I have. Do the recordings and summaries get uploaded to the Internet or are they limited to residing on the actual recording device? My concern is with confidential or privileged information being released to the Internet.
@EricJKuhns you're wrong about the red recording button. Might want to edit that part. The red button is using bluetooth to record, without it red is the internsl microphone.
Purchasing expensive electronics $200 plus that rely on an app has never been beneficial I have found. Updates are no longer compatible new phone, company stops updating app, and with this device 600 mins is an absolute joke that is 10 hours not even a week when your in business really relying on this thing. I do thank you for the great information. But like they say in Shark Tank, for these reasons IM OUT
From the User Guide: RE Bluetooth devices It does not record audio through Bluetooth devices. As the plaud records the call audio via vibrations, you need to be using the phone normally.
My boyfriend wawnts to get a voice recorder for his birthday. I'm an artist, and he is a "writer." I put it in quotes because he has created an amazing world and story in his head, but he never actually takes the time to write it down. He only talks about it to me. I was wondering if you think this product would be good for recording him talking about his story and automatically transcribing it?
I have a professional service firm and we do Meeting Minutes for many of our discussions. The process is cumbersome as some PM write down the notes, some dictate it and it goes to the office manager, then back to the PM back agin and ultimately they are distributed. It’s exhausting honestly. I was hopeful that PLAUD would simplify this process, but in my first couple experiments, I would give it a 5 out of 10. Maybe I need to become more accustom to it, but the summery from a 3 way conversation yesterday was scattered(maybe a result of the conversation?) and repetitive in some cases. It forced me to ultimately commit nearly the same amount of time as before. I still think there is a place for it, but if anyone knows settings or other tricks that could help me fix this Meeting Minute sea anchor I would appreciate it.
It would’ve been more helpful as you know to see experience the conversations and calls and how it works versus you saying I did it and yes, it works interesting

Wanted this so bad!! But hate sub based gadgets! That's why I passed on the Remarkable...sub based....went with Bookme color newest option. Not as fun to write on ..but Gets job done and a huge array of abilities and features
I just want an easy to use recorder with good playback for recording instructions mostly and doctor info. I need something easy for a senior to use. Is the Plaud and plaud notebook the same? Thank You

In the state of Alabama, you can record a conversation as long as one person in the conversation knows it’s being recorded. In other words, you cannot set it to record and walk out of the room and record what’s going on between parties not aware that it’s being recorded.
Is it possible to transcribe and summarize a meeting in real-time while also recording it? Can it capture any language well and provide real-time transcription and summary in another language?
It lost me too after i used up the 600 mins lol. I actually have a good alternative to this product coming up in the next 2 months that has no subscription! Working on that video now!
Just gave it a try, on both switch settings, device recorded only my voice and didn't capture the media playing through my headset, picture a smart tape recorder.

600 minute cap per month is a major deal breaker can’t use this for business, basically capped at 10 one hour meetings…. No go
you can actually do this with the regular recorder on your phone but the set up is long

Most likely it gets uploaded to cloud. I would not recommend this to use recording confidential work meetings.

Does it need to be connected to the Internet or cell phone data to transcribe?
Bluetooth for slow transfer.. wifi optional for fast transfer
All of your testing is involved with just you and nobody around you. Will it pick up background noise or other voices which you don’t want?

All of your recordings and transcriptions are able to be exported so that you can keep them on a pc or anywhere else to save!
