Tiny? Light? Disagree. It's HUGE for something that should just exist as an app in my phone. Who wants yet another device? I can accept that dedicated hardware might offer better microphones, but my phone's mics are good, and I can use my existing bluetooth mics. I like the solution, but won't buy it as a standalone device. I'd pay monthly for such a service, though.
The one thing, and maybe the most important thing you do not mention is that to use it, you must buy a one-year membership to the software that costs about $500 Canadian. So, the actual cost is the membership, not the device. But that's for the video; it was great!
The only comment that looks like it wasn't paid to write the same templated testimonies =p

Does it do well in a loud or crowded environment?
Yeah, pretty useful for my lecture note-taking, too. And recently I found a similar product called hidock h1 has AI summary, too. It is an integrated audio dock with bi-directional noise cancellation, good for noise-free meeting as well as the AI-powered transcript.
Looks perfect but 2 questions: 1. Does it record calls when not on loud speaker and 2. Doesn’t it handle multiple languages.
Does anyone know?

Is there some indication (like a beep) for the caller that they are being recorded or is that just up to the speaker to tell them? Recording others without their permission is illegal in the US.
Does it record calls with AirPods?
Is it required to utilize the "PAID" version of ChatGPT, or can you utilize your own ChatGPT API key?
Can this be applied in a lecture setting where you're not in close proximity to the speaker and there may be background sounds from others during the lecture?
A significant aspect: Is it possible to transfer the recordings, transcriptions (including ChatGPT output), onto your PC for viewing, editing, etc., using applications like MS Word?
Great review! Are you able to interact with the transcript? Ask for example: “did we discuss XYZ” and get a reply?
You mentioned long meetings. Is it capable of defining next-action points?
Can a hearing impaired or deaf person use this like Google Transcribe?

Can this device record phone calls (normal phone calls and messenger calls like Whatsapp Skype etc.) when the phone is connected to wired headphones or Bluetooth headphones?
Can normal recordings (not phone calls) be made when the phone is connected to wired headphones or Bluetooth headphones?
That’s what I want to know/am looking for myself. Having to put it on speakerphone isn’t that convenient useful when you aren’t in a private area… I’m going to take the context clues and assume the answer is no unfortunately:(

My questions:
Before purchasing your product, I have a few questions and would appreciate it if you could answer them precisely.
1. Can Plaud Note record phone calls in general?
1.1. If Plaud Note can record phone calls in general, can it do so with all phones?
2. If Plaud Note can record phone calls in general, can calls only be recorded when holding the phone to the ear, or can they also be recorded when the phone is on speaker mode?
2.1. Can calls be recorded when the phone is connected to wired headphones?
2.2. Can calls be recorded when the phone is connected to Bluetooth headphones?
3. If I purchase the "PLAUD AI Annual Membership" for $79 USD, will it be usable for a lifetime or only for a limited time?
I kindly request precise and prompt responses.

1.Yes Plaud note has dual mode which is Note mode and Phone call recording mode
1.1 Yes you can use all types of phone and you can attach the PLAUD on the back of the phone. If your phone is android you should have a mag safe compatible case
2. Aside from recording when holding the phone to the ear,The plaud note can also record calls when your phone is on speaker mode
2.1. and 2,2 Sorry but the PLAUD note currently has no capability to record calls on both wired and bluetooth headphones we will make sure to put that on our product plan
3.The PLAUD Ai Annual membership for the price of $79 can be use for a year and if you wish to renew for another annual membership the price will stay as $79

You are absolutely right, it is impractical to put the phone on speakerphone when you are not alone and don't have privacy. Even if you were to hold the phone to your ear to record the call, it is still impractical because you wouldn't have a free hand, or you would have to wedge the phone in such a way that you have one hand free. If the whole thing worked with wired or wireless headphones or speakers, it would be much more practical and easier to use.If Plaud were to contact me and we did business, I could show them a way to solve these problems. But I am sure that Plaud will not contact me and the problems will not be solved in the future.Very unfortunate! Because they have created a very good product, but it is not fully thought through.
To record a Call you need to have it on speaker? Does it work with Whatsapp Facetime call?
Funny how they're dodging these types of questions and responding only to positive reviews about the video. It's worthless if you have to have your phone on speaker. U can just buy your own voice recorder

Great product at the time of this video but newer Samsung phones do that now. I also had a magnetic holder on the back of my phone. It always fell off because the phone magnets aren't strong enough
Didn't mention that you have to pay for a subscription nor that it only works on IPhones.

If other students are speaking simultaneously, would the AI could struggle to distinguish between the teacher's voice and the background chatter? all these reviewers do not speak about this, i feel this might result in less accurate transcriptions or inclusion of unrelated content.
What kind of charger does it use?
It uses a usb charger with pins in it. It is specific to the Plaud Note
@MrYouWho Yeah. They finally told me it's proprietary. I need another one and am having an impossible time getting one or even a response from them about it.
I doubt if the product works for all languages. What about Hindi/Urdu.

If you pick up your call from Mac or iPad or watch, does the call still automatically trigger PLAUD on phone call mode?
Good question, I haven't tested this out yet. I think it only triggers if it is answered on the phone. I can check with Plaud and get back to you?
Kay this is ok, but could this not just be an app? Why's it need physical hardware?
Thanks for watching! The hardware means it isn't reliant on the phone to record. The technology in the hardware helps for the voice recording to be a lot quicker. As different phones have different quality, the hardware means all recordings are great quality.

You must buy a Plaud subscription and it is quite costly about $350USD per year. That is really the money maker for the Plaud, but if you need the service, it's a great price.

That's a good question about the headphones/Bluetooth I haven't actually tried it. I'll try it and let you know shortly.
