The neighbor across the street gave me a Stihl leaf blower with a stuck piston. I got it broken loose but it would not start/run. I removed the muffler and put some heavy oil on the side of the piston. It fired right up. I took the cylinder off and sure enough, piston scoring and crack rings. I have new parts on the way. It's been a cool project for me as I've never worked on a 2 stroke motor before. Thank goodness for YT in that regard.
I just set my gap yesterday 8/14/21 on my 12.5 Tecumseh Garden tractor and didn't use the magnets, then when I tried to start it, the fly wheel got bound up on the coil. Thank The Good lord no damages happened. I just reset it using the magnets on the flywheel, now it start and runs like a dream. Love your videos I've learned a ton for you.. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Would you consider doing a video on oil changes? Mostly interested in the advantages of using a vacuum and the pros and cons of doing it that way instead of draining
How long have they been using the all in one ignition coil and did away with the points and condenser type ignition and can you replace an old type ignition with the type that is used now
Briggs 4hp Classic engine, customer put a new coil on it, said it ran, killed it, tried to start it up later, no start. no spark.i removed the blower housing, and the flywheel was rubbing the armature legs and rubbed into the module itself...

Used this method a few weeks ago when I replaced the coil on my Flymo GT500 - Suzuki M120x engine... works an absolute treat!

I was taught this by my Grandfater back in 1987!
Oh so easy.
Good advice on the torque sequence of the hold down bolts. It’s the simple things that can give you the biggest issues. 👍🏼
Thumbs for the tips and tricks.
"The gap is monstrously wide."
Mine is monstrously small. When I discovered this I was happy because I thought this was the reason for my no start...
I'm very impressed with your easy to understand mechanical description..I clicked that like n sub bell
Hi from Australia..
Good tip. I always use the business card trick it works well. 👍
Great tips Jeremy. Whish I new a mechanic like you around here. All we have here are parts replacers.
Love all your videos

Excellent info. Keep it coming.
good video brother Jeremy!
I have a huge gap on my 20 hp Briggs right from the factory new john Deere tractor is this normal it runs great just wondering why?
You didn’t mention that you set the gap over the magnets.
Good tip! However It doesn’t have to be over the Magnets on this engine. the gap can be set anywhere on the flywheel
Well, over the magnets is where it really counts. Just saying.
IT DOESNT MATTER.
3:19 I like yo college boy words "get em tot."

@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 Thank ya!
I like that word too 'magnetic flux". It almost sounds dirty...but its not. I looked it up.
Can you do a video on advancing the timing
How long have they been using the all in one ignition coil and did away with the points and condenser type ignition and can you replace an old type ignition with the type that is used now
Great!
I all way put tho on 15 and have for 30 + year and they work fine
The gap on the short side still seems to be farther away than the coils long side.
