i almost spat out my popcorn when the "pp small" text flashed on screen. damn im a child lol
"Yeah I also have 2 Jag tiger cannon barrels laying around, just missing the tank if you know what I mean?" - German Soldier 1945
At the end of the war, the Germans were running out of metal for tank production. Since tank manufacturers were disorganized, multiple pieces of a vehicle would be produced while the chassis or other big parts were still waiting for the required materials.
keep hans on top dude, he gives it more lived in quality
Of course, he could have Hans bent in an inhuman angle and other obviously dead crewmembers next to the tank...
There is nothing more I could wish for then night shift trying a figure.
i saw him comment to a video of a figure painter like a year ago, he'll surely watch that tutorial again
I've been building models since I was about 7 years old. Many were well beyond my age level at the time. It was always disheartening when I'd save up my pocket money for who knows how long, buy a kit I wanted, build it and only to later have my father throw them out as trash. He did that with EVERYTHING artistic I used to make be it models, short stories I wrote, or pictures/posters I'd draw and color. He would get upset when I bought a model kit because to him, they were nothing but toys, and apparently at age 7, I was too old for toys... This was the kind of man who thought if (by the time I reached the age of eleven) I hadn't made up my mind on which career/job I wanted as an adult, I was slacking. He thought my sketchings/drawings were also a huge waste of paper and time. Time I could have been using to find my first job... at age 9... Just because he had dropped out of school at the age of 15 or 16 because he wanted to work instead, he thought I should also do the same, it seemed. All it did was bury my creativity. It's a shame that it did because the teachers who loved having me in class are those who actually saw glimpses of that. I really do not understand his logic in trying to stamp out my imagination. I guess that, sadly, there are so many people who are unable to grasp the fact that models are NOT toys.
Now as an adult, I buy high end model ships whenever I can. They helped keep me sane when I spent the better part of a year in hospital. My wife (then girlfriend) encouraged/encourages my model building. I have a fleet of around 50 1/700 scale ships.
@@MiokosWorld pro tip! If you don’t have the time or patience to read something, you probably don’t have the time or patience to write a comment.
Your dad was a sad asshole, so sorry to hear that friend. Glad you are enjoying your adulthood. As a 30 year old I have only recently got into model kits while trying to find a new hobby, I was worried about the stigma of being toys but the more I looked into it, the clearer it became the opposite, and my girlfriend is also supportive.
Takom: *makes locating holes*
Night shift: “So anyway, I started _filling.”_
I like the new cutting mat! Less strain on the eyes when watching at night ;D
I'm only using it for the construction 😁 The rest will be the regular white background
15:56 for some models I have actually used staples for the handles on doors and hatches I just clip the bottom of them very slightly and it ends up working and looks good.
My girlfriend started watching your videos with me. She doesn't even build models. She says she just finds you very entertaining.
......
UNCLE NIGHTSHIFT STOLE MY GIRL!!!!
Looked up at the clock and said "It's noon! Time for Nightshift's video!" Looks great, you give me lots of inspiration
Whooo whoooo this is why I love Friday’s, so glad I turned on notifications
do the renault ft 17 when you end that proyect pls c:
You are awesome.
I built 1/35 Tamiya WWll tank kits for around 7 years back in mid 1970s.Thanks for intense memories. You have alot better glues, tools etc to work with now
for sure.Thank you.Make more!
With covid and all the craziness that 2020 has been i look forward to these videos every friday they are insightful as well as calming! much love!
I build automotive and haven’t seen a lot of your videos but from the couple I have watch I can say that your doing a great job. Very clearly you explain what your doing and very clear audio.
I just got this kit!!! So glad you did a vid on the build as I've ALWAYS admired your work!!! 👍👍👍
Man, it’s amazing to watch the level of detail you put into your builds. Absolutely amazing
I haven’t touched a model in 50 years. Things have changed a bit since using a brush and Testers paint. Glad I found your site.
Thank you.
Oh yes ambush camo, just in time for my dragon stug 4.
it's so relaxing watching your videos !Great job Night Shift !
you make it look easy :D
Fabulous, always an entertaining and informative half-hour, thank you 👍
My favorite vehicle in world of tanks in all tiers and watching you skill your way through this assembly was a joy!
I've been looking forward to this week's vid so much. Can't wait to see where you take us with this. Great job.
I haven’t build models in a long time and Is as never very good at it, but I love the Jagdtiger and this video is making me want to build one.
Yay. It's Friday and a new episode of my favourite modeller! Imo, the tank commander will add so much more to the finished kit!
So glad your attempting a figure. They add so much to a model. Also, the vertical element to the base should be a conifer tree. they go well with ambush camo schemes.
Ahhhh, your models are always so beautifully detailed!
Dear Martin, a great start to another masterpiece! Thoroughly enjoyable tutorial and very informative! Kind Regards Johnny
I absolutely love this Channel!!! My go to scale model channel without a doubt
Thanks for the heads up, I checked my Takom Porsche Jagdtiger, especially the front of the casemate, it didn't fit of course, I simply sanded the bottom edge and dry fitted as I went along...no problem, slotted in to place looks fine, worked for me, I also fitted a sprue brace from side to side internally to give the roof a bit more strength under the front joint where the casemate joins it as it bowed slightly.
It's good to see even the experts having trouble with kits. This is going to be a great build Martin. I like it already.
As a beginner you really help me brush paint my scale models👍 thank you uncle Nightshift. :D
I've been looking forward to this video all week! Friday with Uncle Night Shift is one of the highlights to the week 🤘
I do not build military models, they are strictly sports GT and rally cars however I found tips, techniques, and product info to be invaluable together with your extensive building experience as brilliant. Many thanks for sharing your videos.
Can't wait. Love to see you trying new things too, like the figure.
Awesome build boss! Great improvements and improvisation for the fitment issues. Can't wait for the next video..
I have learned something new with each of your builds. Despite this kit's numerous shortcomings, I'm confident that the end result will be spectacular, Martin. I vote for adding the figure.
These videos just make my Friday's amazing! 😂
This is your best yet. Wow!! I love everything about it. And a big YES to the figure. You are way too talented to not have a crewman on board.
Oh, I got to see the real one at Aberdeen years ago. That was a wonderful place!!!
I was waiting for this! I got my first airbrush yesterday, can't wait to try it!
Look at those details... So comforting! 🥰
Keep these vids coming mate. You manage in reality what I have in mind yet fail at! Love your use of English colloquialisms also. Your vids are “mint”! 👏👏👏
Great build ,with a ton of Tipps and tricks I can use on my King Tiger I’m currently building.
I'm also a follower of Ebroin's miniatures and his figure modelling skills are off the chart!! Worth a watch if you don't know him!!
Thanks Sooo much for all of your hard work sharing your incredible skills with us Mr. Shift!!!
Can't wait to see this painted!
For bending the wires you could try a "diode bender" so you can get consistant results very fast. nice work as always!
What are the chances Night Shift posts something at the exact moment I'm hitting purchase on some Tamiya putty quick type based on his recommendation?
I'm definitely excited to see you take on a figure! This build is going to be pretty sweet!
I always love how you build them keep going mate!!!!
Pure creativity. Pure brilliance.
Wow! Nice detailed model!
Im adding to your shell hole talk at 18:05, in addition to two steel items hitting each other, one is also spinning and some shell holes, both total penetration and not, records the spiral twisting of the shell as it began penetrating the armor. Ive learned a lot, especially about the new resin filler from VMS, an amazing company with amazing products. Thanks, Unka (as in Donald Duck's nephews calling him unka Donald) Martin.
Great job on the tank even with all the issues you with the fit. This will be one great looking tank when you are finished.
I just can rest from a long hard week and my choice to relax and enjoy is a good beer and this video ( and the following ones). I think this explains how much like you work.
LOVE this project so far!
high quality video. one of your best so far id say.
this tank looks so awesome!
my favorite for sure ! cant wait for the next video
Another EXHAUSting and intRUSTing video, keep it up❤
One of your funniest videos, by far. Excellent build, Martin.
the tank commander gives it scale and looks good. A+
Thank GOD I came across this video, was just about to purchase this kit because it is cheap as hell. However, shipping was nearly 30.00 dollars. I can always count on Night Shift, Model Nerd, and the Inner nerd scale modeling. Thanks for this video Night Shift! Cheers!
WHAT a beast it is,can't wait for the paint job.
I found your super detailing amazing 🤩. Amazing work!
Excellent video...really looking for ward to the next part !
An outstanding video. That grab handle tip was great.
oh wow this is early. cant wait to see the finished model!
Exciting video, you are a master in building models.
I didn’t want a Jagdtiger... until now! Thanks. Thanks a lot.
A friend of mine recommended your channel to me. I'm glad he did. Cheeers
This is not Model making, this is brilliant craftsmanship !!
I bought the wrong tracks as well, once again you are the standard thank for sharing
Great work - and the figure looks very nice and fits perfectly!!! Thank you very much for this one!
I have been looking forward to this ever since some of your very first videos man! And I think Hans looks great up there being on the watch out! Good job brother!!
It's... beautiful. Once I'm done with my university, and when I make my own working space, I can then finally devote myself to scale models :D
Здравствуйте, очень нравится смотреть ваши видео. Всегда возхищаюст и вдохновляюсь ими. С нетерпением жду следующий ролик)
Gotta be the coolest build I've seen definitely have ti do the Alpine figure with it!
Also got the same Takom kit... Thanks for the presentation, I think I will lose sleep over this model 😰
Outstanding build and very entertaining explanations.
Thanks for the heads up, Uncle Night Shift. I could have purchased this Takom kit thinking it was Tamiya-like in fit, assembly and finish only to have been seriously disappointed.
Looking great...looking forward to the next step
Really looking forward to seeing the tank commander figure being painted.
Tamiya model tanks are my all-time favourite since my childhood till adulthood.
Great video...I really enjoyed the way that you provided it...
I built this one at the beginning of the year and had exactly the same problems. I was so pissed off i ‘destroyed’ in weathering. Now it looks kinda cool.
Nuts! All the preparations!
Figures add scale, and that's a really nice tank commander 😁👌
Keep it up, you are making tens of thousands of modellers better modellers. Much better.
Great show I learned a lot and questions about metal tracks answered..I might get this kit and photo etch kit..I have several tank kits with full interior to build too...
Yes!!! I'm so happy to this build.
Just started the same kit and am looking forward to using this series of videos to help take my project up a level from previous builds. While I agree with your comments about the amount of flash and size of the seam lines, I disagree about the issues you had with the front plate on the super structure. I agree it is a terrible design, but after a few minutes of looking at it, a lot of swearing, and a bit of brute force, it did fit, with no need to make any modification. In saying that, keep up the good work. Your channel is helping a lot of us mediocre modelers to get better. Cheers from New Zealand.
Yes another video. I just cant wait on the friday to came home from the school and watch your new video. krásny model ;)
This piece is an absolute unit!
I have that same foam cutting table! I love mine.
YES, you should totally put Helmut into the hatch opening!
Good job mate, I start this kit next days👍
As a serious builder of armour models im shocked to see how many problems there are with this kit..still though its not as bad as the old timer kits and German what if armour is my fav things to build ..im seriously enjoying your channel..very entertaining and yup ive subscribed..cant wait to see alot more 😁
That Monster is soooo beautiful!!! 😍
Not sure what I am more jealous of;
1. Fruil tracks costing $39
2. eBay stuff arriving in a week
3. NightShift build skills.
Dominomodel used to stock them for €30 (+-$36 according to Google), but Friul is (apparently) selling more directly to customers so Domino can't restock them at the moment :'(
@@lekajo6598 I hope so, the mark up for sales to Canada puts them at $80 before shipping
@@TheModelGuy What?? If you buy them from Friul or in Canada?
Btw, a nice alternative to Friul is Masterclub, Dominomodel started stocking those instead of Friul, and they are great. Instead of fiddling with wire now its some resin pins, and tbh i like them a lot.
If you want to order at them, the shipping price to Canada is (normally) 25-30 € (i've asked a guy who works there) and the price for Canada is calculated without tax, so if you do [price] / 1.21 normally you get the correct price in euros :)
@@lekajo6598 so 25-30 Eur is almost double in CAD for shipping
all 3 equally
