Although the 8 is actually quite reasonably priced. It's limited by it's bat shit crazy architecture. But a mini version at an even better price? I might even get one! Who doesn't like to inject a little chaos into their sound! One would be just enough though and the price is great.
I'm gona be real here for a minute. I love Soma and this new mini BUT, I still wont buy a Lyra of any kind. Why? Well, without a non-quantized tuning function that's ACTUALLY quick and reliable, it's too limited in real life applications. Fine tune knobs and more stable oscillators is all it would take. Hate to say it but this atonal "acid trip space noise" stuff, is getting old. There's only so many times I need a synth that sounds like a dying computer in a washing machine. Realistically, I can get a similar effect by layering recordings from a cheap $50 EMF to sound device, fed through some stock reverb/delay/distortion. Seen too many Lyra vids showing how, once you painstakingly tune the last voice, the first one has already gone out of tune. And if you even breath on the MOD function, you might as well have never tuned it in the first place. It's a headache using a Lyra for much other than creating headache inducing space noise. Not hating, just hoping Soma realizes, the range of this instrument could be vastly improved, if you made the tuning headaches OPTIONAL. Heck I would rather digital oscillators with everything downstream being analog, if it meant you could, IF YOU WANTED, tune the thing to produce stable melodic frequencies.
Yeah it clearly just isn't for you. I'm pretty sure ppl at Soma are aware of this "problem" and have made this instrument the way it is very deliberately. I can imagine using a Lyra for something specific would be a headache but then again so is expecting a cat to behave in a way that you wish. I love Lyra and I love cats. Both have their own ways and you just have to see what happens and go with it. That's the beauty of it. Oh and as it might've not been clear to you yet. If you don't like it, it's ok. Move on
A purple and green combo would be my dream combo
Big fan of Barney?
Great news, both for the portability of the Lyra 4 and the price!
Great to see Lyra's little sister (or brother), Lyra-8 is still among my all time favourite electronic instruments, keep up the great work @somasynths
...sibling...
Yes, send me some of these 👍
what about the connectivity on the back?
Forbidden Planet soundtrack❤
man, if you guys can make a light weight COSMOS that i can put in my case, that would be the best thing ever!! ill buy two!!
Why do you need two?
Very nice! I like the idea of being able to have the distortion and delay separate if you have two compared to own Lyra-8. Thank you ☺️

Excellent!
VERY tempting... Now you need a shorter adapter for Ornament-8. :D
always cool soma
how do you pair lyra 4 and lyra 8?
Superb, I love my Lyra 8, never play it enough though
I have too many synths and never play them enough. Bit crazy😊

@@bonwowo ATM black and white only
Just preordered the two. When do you think they will ship? These will work nicely with my solar 42
Great, thnx! Within a month should go!
@@somasynths I pre-ordered a pair - will I get an invoice when they're ready to ship?
Amazing, price?
somasynths.com/lyra-4_price/
The net price for one LYRA-4 - 360 Euros.
The net price for the set of two LYRA-4s - 580 Euros.
@@PrimitiveInTheExtreme worth it
@@IndigoBassNotes I would say yes.
wonderfull
Do you have an excess of Lyra4 stock? Maybe targetting those who bought a 4 to buy another?
Yes it’s a conspiracy, you figured it out.
ganz toll
Wowee 😮
8 has an audio input jack which to me is what makes it so much more deep. I do wonder how hard would it be for me to add an audio input on the 4?
Ohhhhh did you resurrected the Lyra 4?? 😮😮
Yeah!
Just bought an 8, damn!
Get one anyway, i am, Lyra 12

this is not for you. SOMA, pls don't listen to this guy lmao.
Who hurt you?

I kind of agree that it can produce headaches when i make my lyra meet other instruments...! i really love it, though.
This device is obviously made for barely functioning crayon eating adults. If you want an instrument, look elsewhere, this is just a toy.
Saving the knob positions as a preset is a must
Is this a joke?
Sounds like you need to buy a bunch of them and a glue gun.
It'd be cheaper than what this thing with presets would cost.
