When using the extract, how much do you have the runs to make sure there are no marks after? Have you ever run into siding that leaves some streaks even when soft washing
If you're talking about using an extractor while surface cleaning..I've never used one before. As far as streaks on siding, never had that problem. I guess the streaks can come from not using the correct surfactant with your chemical mix maybe..? Whatever surface I'm cleaning I always use the recommended chemical for the job to avoid any kind of issues along the way.
A gallon bucket goes about 6500 sq.ft if used correctly on the spec. All I do pretty much is fill an empty bucket with a 50/50 mix an use a porportioner while spraying. The porportioner controls the amount of mix you're using on the surface. Once I get to a quarter left in my bucket I just fill it back up with my spray gun a keep moving because the mix is still strong enough. You'll know when you need to add more SH to your bucket.
Depends on the weather and also what side gets the most sunlight. In this case, if I'm doing a house and there's a side that gets heavy sunlight I always take care of that part of the house first. Reason being is because of the surface temperature. I never use straight SH on a hot surface. I always use SH with a surfactant (that's just how I do it). So if the weather is really really hot you definitely don't want to leave it in long at all...but if it's pretty cool temperatures you should be fine however, you don't want to let it dwell no more than 10 minutes.
So Student here asking a question? So the spray gun with the 5 gallon bucket is better compared to having the bucket next to the pressure washer feeder? Because I thought having a 150 foot pressure washer hose is much faster than just having 15 feet of length. Hope that makes sense.
That's actually a good question. Down streaming from the machine versus using an Xjet varies on your setup. Truth be told they both have the same ending results however, one is more efficient than the other. Most big guys have the trailer setup with the 5 to 8 gallon per minute machines and downstream from the trailer set up. Yes, down streaming with the correct setup is definitely more efficient than an Xjet. (Less physical labor). There's no right or wrong into applying a chemical some guys have a trailer setup and still use an Xjet and some use a j-rod. The major difference is carrying a bucket with an Xjet w/ 150 ft of spray hose versus having the 150 ft hose and using a j-rod. At the end of the day whatever makes your job the most efficient to complete is totally your preference 👍.
Building on @mrhomewashingllc1152's response. Downstreaming is great if you have a good injector 15:1 and fresh SH. A 15:1 injector with fresh 12.5% SH will get you .83-1% application from your gun. The likelihood of getting 12.5% SH as someone new to the game is slim to none unless you do your research. If the SH was manufactured within 1-2 weeks of buying, you just might get 12.5%. The older the SH, the weaker its going to be. XJet allows you to put a much hotter mix because you can choose the dilution ratio via Proportioner tips. Got weak SH? Np, throw in the 2.5:1 or 5:1 with a little surfactant and go to town. You also are not limited to 15 feet of XJet hose. I've pulled fine with 50ft of polybraid. Is it annoying dealing with 2 hoses? Yes. Is it less annoying than applying a weak solution multiple times? Yes. If the organics on your substrate (especially if they are heavy) don't change colors when you hit them with SH, your mix is too weak.

4gpm machine while using an xjet m5 or in this video we're using an original xjet nozzle. Simple setup. The only time I use my 5gpm put machine is for concrete cleaning.
Xjet pulls more chemical than down streaming. The only advantage with the downstreaming is that you don't have to carry a bucket around. With an xjet you have to however, downstreaming runs chemical through the pressure washer which can ruin o-rings and other factors later down the road versus using the xjet pulls right out of the bucket.
The injectors are installed after the pump, therefore no chemicals will ever go through the pump to cause any damage! Also with most homes being vinyl, downstreaming would be more efficient! Keep Grinding 👏🏽

I setup backpack straps for the 5 gal bucket so no more moving over and over
Always start the chemicals from bottom up then rinse from top down
How come bottom up?
Helps keep everything equally wet and reduces change of lines
X jet has its place but Downstreaming vinyl so much easier

Do you wash one side of the house first before the other I heard if you leave the SH onto long is bad

You can use an Xjet M5, Original Xjet nozzle or a J-rod to reach that. 4.5 gal per min is perfect.
