I attended an amazing workshop and service played by Patrick at the American Guild of Organists Convention in San Francisco last July. He was engaging, witty and phenomenal as a clinician and organist. Hooray!!! I am inspired by this rendition of When We All Get To Heaven.
He was swinging that Rodgers, he sure was and gave it some soul and then finished with a traditional ending! He is very accomplished to do this as I can see.
The epitome of genius! This is enough to get the skeletons to spring out of their caskets and start dancing around the freaking graveyard! But just not in church! Absolutely chilling! An immortal performance!
Pretty sure this is an electric, not a pipe organ. And of course, in street gang vernacular, "sick" means it is wonderful and you like it, and if it was terrible and you disliked it, you would say in a sarcastic manner that it was "Wonderful!" I'm beginning to get the hang of it! But never will like or adjust to the corruption & perversion of the great English language.
Milton Moore Just know that by your silly and priggish declaration you're swimming against a very powerful, venerable and venerated tradition that includes Shakespeare.
Normally I would give you other videos of this awesome musical genius, but no need to. Everything this guy touches turns to gold. I have listened to only a few and left comments; you're sure to find them. I need to get busy watching more of his videos. Wonder if our friends the winner & BeMisty know about this guy. I only do because I got lucky and stumbled on his thumbnail! About the best praise I can offer Patrick Alston is: "What hath God wrought!" I left two more comments above!
Came back for your comment and I saw blessed assurance on the sidebar, it is playing in another tab, glorious, it is one of my favorite hymns! Are you ok, Milton? You don't seem to be your joyous self this evening.
You just earned your PhD in perceptivenes! I had to make a dreaded phone call on a business deal gone wrong that has been a source of stress for 5 years! Along with other mounting problems. But God and the music and a few friends like you help keep me going.
Milton Moore Just remember losing people you love is the absolute hardest thing to get through. Don’t sweat the small stuff..you will get through it. I just asked God to give you a hand..reach for it!
Feeling better. I just re-watched "Blessed Assurance" again and left another comment. This guy really is a "one man band!" And sure to be a hit with any Pentecostal congregation for which he would play! ( Google The Everly Brothers on "Trouble in Mind," The Everly Brothers Topic ch, and Johnny Tillotson on IT KEEPS RIGHT ON A HURTIN' & Ned Miller on FROM A JACK TO A KING, both in the Country at its Finest ch.😃😄😀)
Patrick you are truly an anointed "Minister of Music". There is a big difference between an " Organist " and a Minister of Music. It's called "anointing". You are definitely anointed.
Hi Patrick, Thank you for sharing your awe inspiring talent at the Rodgers. You make it walk and talk!! I'm so proud to see and hear you play.. you sound sooo good!! Keep up the wonderful freedom and soulfulness of music playing with what I call, " the pipe orchestra sound." Happy Holidays, my friend, Don
If this immortal artist could travel back in time and play this magnificent Protestant hymn on a cathedral organ during the height of the Spanish Inquisition, the Roman Catholic Church controlling the show would drag him out of the church and burn him at the stake, and his friends and family along with him! ABSOLUTELY the darkest period of world history!
"Patrick.....you are a big man......I'm a little man.............you are a poet, a warrior in the classic sense............I should have been a pair of ragged claws across the floors of a silent sea...........I can't.....I can't" Photojournalist in Apocalypse Now talking about Colonel Kurtz............
all of us will get to heaven 'cuz god in his infinite justice and mercy in jesus Christ cannot and will not do anything else, some of us will be there first and many of us will be the last to enter its gates and roads of 12 diamonds.
I know people are "moved by the spirit," but thank Jesus God all that infernal, rude clapping died out that was so distracting and annoying that I was on the verge of shutting off this awe-inspiring video. This artist deserves the epitome of respect.
I hate to be the one to start the debate, but we are each entitled to our own opinions. I just want to point out that Christ's Justice, Holiness and Perfection cannot allow sinners into heaven. It is His mercy and grace that allows us to repent and "take up y[our] cross daily" and follow Him.
If you hate to start a debate, than why try to start one? So happy that so far, you have no takers, ESPECIALLY ME! (Sad you cannot offer one word of praise for this God-given music.)
As if a Rogers could possibly compete with Hammond? They’re good at what they do, but they’re not meant to be compared to each other. A Hammond Organ is so popular, you can hear the sound and know exactly what you’re listening to. If you heard a pipe organ or a pipeless pipe organ like this one, you wouldn’t instantly know the brand. Why? Well, they’re are millions of pipe organs that sound exactly the same. No organ sounds like a Hammond. So really, in this case, you’re trying to compare a Cadillac to a Rolls Royce. (The Rolls Royce being the Hammond)

The greatest "rock

history must
kneel before this
immortal performance!

By Patrick Alston

Eli, this organ is a hybrid full pipe organ with a digital console so you get the best of both worlds.
wow.
there was a cd background playing to go with the organ.....I have done that also with a Rodgers organ......and mine had the extra digital sounds also

Wow. like that other one said, I also would have never thought that a pipe organ could sound that good. I would love to hear you on a B 3.
reminds me of tent meetings
He's the Antoine
"Fats" Domino of the church organ!
OMG!!!
Wow great tone sounds like a Hammond almost
Sounds almost like a theatre organ
And and I mean that doubly so.
Making it talk!

been able to do
this!!!😃😃😃😃
Who knows, perhaps if he had met Mr Alston, he could have!

I hate to break it to you, but there's no way a Hammond could compete with this Rodgers. Sorry!
doothless Yeah. And you can't plow a field with a Cadillac. We'll note for the record that you excel at irrelevance.

Is he trying to turn on a leslie??
+D.C. Lake pipe organs do not have leslies
This organ is a digital organ made by Rodgers! He's getting that piano sound from a midi module!
Love!!!
He deserves the
kind of money
"Big Pimping" Jay Zee makes!
Such is the unfairness of
life in this world!
Smhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Play Man!!!!!
No clapping please
