I see that Mr. Bradford passed away in September from complications with the Covid. I pray that his family finds comfort and peace from the Holy Spirit and that they know how much Terry's music (and in particular, this video) has touched others. God bless the Bradford family.
I'm Jewish and I would go to that church instead of my temple every day and pray there just to hear this genius on the organ. Mr. Bradford is insanely talented. I mean I am in SHOCK!!!> INCREDIBLE.
I've never seen anyone turn the organ off for a moment then back on... What a wild effect. Also, you really have to be wailing hard on a Hammond to make them move like that organ was near the end. Amazing talent!
You can do that with the later model self-starters...NOT with the original start-run drive motors. You try it on those, you gonna get yaself a really sea sick mess! Terry one HOT player, frfr.
WoW ! What a super fined today. As a fellow Hammond owner I really appreciate his expertise not just on the keys but also using the foot pedal...which "ain't easy". Merry Christmas & thanks for the entertainment using your God-given talents.
Wait a minute, wait a minute😱 the guitar playing in the beginning sounded like the great Wes Montgomery!! They rocked the church, the house, & the block 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🏼👏🤚🏻🤚🏻🤚🏻😊
As a young white American of Irish, Scottish, and German descent who plays jazz, thank you so much to black culture for your incredible invaluable contributions to American music. It's my honor to play and listen to your music.
Frankie Fish. You can actually install a potentiometer that controls the megahertz without affecting the voltage. That allows you to slow down the tone generator. Original idea wasn't so much for pitch bending. It would allow you to adjust the overall tuning as compensation. I have one on one of my Hammond x77s. The first one I ever saw was installed on a B3 about 40 years ago.
There's a start switch that you have to hold on until the tone wheel generator starts to rotate. Pressing that switch while it's running will cause the motor to slow down.
Loving it from Glasgow to st Louis, from Scotland to you and yours truly in your dream miraculous beautiful sound TQ fingers stay cool brothers and sister from moi and may god bless all❤
You got to wonder how this happened... Mr Hammond wasn't happy with the sound of his organ and Mr Leslie wasn't happy with his rotary cabinet... yet here we are with a sound that in the right hands never fails to make you grin from ear to ear
Steve, you've got that backward. Leslie wasn't satisfied with the sound of the Hammond. Hammond was absolutely aghast with the sound and use of the Leslie speakers on his organs. He only gave in because of popularity.
Laurens Hammond, inventor of the B3 despised Donald Leslie's rotating speaker and initially forbid Hammond dealers from selling them. He never gave in - the Hammond organ company did not start selling Leslie speakers until 7 years after Laurens passed away.
This brother is too much...This what u call a sure nuff master of the hammond b3 organ...He made it holler, shout, scream...You betta play that organ man....God has blessed him with an amazing talent...If I didn't know any better, I would think that Jimmy Smith was sitting there...Just awesome......You have truly encouraged me to master the hammond b3...God blessed me with one last week....

Maybe they just take it for granted. Perhaps they haven't been exposed to other kinds of churches and worship styles, so their perception of this is like a norm. Whereas for us, who grew up on hymns or contemporary worship styles(or any other style) we can really appreciate the musical artistry and praise that goes into their worship sessions.
He didn't cut it off. Lol. The Newer B3s have pitch bending capabilities. I have one that does the same thing. Its the Mark 2, and also notice, He pulls the START switch back, which is Impossible to do on a regular Hammond. Which I think is a MAGNIFICENT feature.
A side bar for a few of you out there. When Suzuki bought the Hammond and Leslie names... a lot of us thought that's sick, and not in a GOOD way. But they proved everyone wrong. They shipped dozens of originals over to Japan ranging from bone stock to warmed over to full out modified distorted rock jobs. And then they flew players from all walks of music over to demo them. They listened... and they learned. Everything is digital now, but still based on the old tone wheel tech. The small single keyboard 'bar' units have a few drawbars are pretty close... closer than any of the clones, and still include the piano and synth sounds. But the big double keyboard full bass pedal 'pro' jobs... man they are Hammond all the way. The original sound, and the warmed over and distorted sounds, are switchable at a touch of a button. They look and feel and sound exactly like an old B3, except it don't take four men and a small boy to move it. And yes... I do know what they weight. Back in the 70's our band had a B3 and a custom made split six foot high Leslie complete with blue lights in the horns so you could see them spinning in the dark. Oh, and a Vox organ... and a Fender Rhodes 73. All that plus a huge drum kit for the day, a full horn section, a bass, and me with five fricking guitars and three insanely heavy amps. Plus a sound system that was huge. It took three 8X10 trailers behind vans and pick-ups and even a stationwoogan to haul. BUT... with a new Leslie the big job easily costs twice to three times what you can get a real genuine B3 and Leslie for. So the lightness must be one of your key requirements.

Keith Emerson used to do it since the 60s (with The Nice).
