Great violin playing , and Ian Hobson whom I remember from Illinois Master's days, all jaunty as hell on the piano. I particularly love the finale. That melody on the G string, achieved while apreggiating all over the place, is just so beautiful. It sort of reminds me of the Mendelssohn vln cto cadenza when the orchestra joins the soloist. It's a great technique and I used to love playing this. Thanks Sissel.
Not very pleasant to the ear. Intonation is a struggle here. Yes I understand it is an Ernst piece but you shouldn't make the audience clench for you so often.

I heard the first variation and thought maybe i could play this and then the second variation played and reminded me that this is an Ernst piece😂
Theme 1's first variation is already terrible lol
2:58 sounds like something out of Waxman's Carmen Fantasy ;)
Hahahaha
Deeply agree
Bravo!
11:48 what I hear when my mother approaches me, knowing I got an F
Damnnnnnnnn😂
So true
Belo trabalho.
First enter of violin solo is unstable and Uncertain in C#5

@@Nodalema well it certainly ain't the best recording, but the only one we've got.
Not really xD
Just under different name
Sourds like wieniawski first concerto
Oh really? I mean I can't find the similarity
Absolutely not.
@@SisselOnline at 6:30 it sounds similar
@@waffled7854 diminished chord sequence, Ysaÿe and Paganini have similar stuff too.
Ysaÿe Paganini Variations, for instance, has similar part as well.

True 😂
His Ysaÿe is great, but not Ernst. Wonder if he's not paid enough lol
That's what makes performance unique. For me it's a very good musical joke, I laughed a lot.
That trill variation does sound like a joke xD
