    I put the same roofing material across the floor, but also up the back, then under the door panels.. amazing sound deadening. I found a gauge cluster at a salvage yard, with tachameter.. odometer only 2k off mine. While cleaning the inside of the bezel, I painted the faded orange gauge hands blue.

    Very nice truck for sure 👍 lots of work. I just wish your camera was a bit better.
    It has a soft haze that kinda covers up small details. Awesome truck and a great video!

    Not many of those 7th generation Ford F-series pickups on the roads anymore like there use to be back in the day.

    I have a 3 questions if it's not the problem ...1)What paint did you guys used , 2) where did the truck come from because I don't see upstate rust.. lol , 3) what part of the NY you guys are..
    Good job with the truck 👍👍👍👍.

      We used acrylic urethane single stage paint. The blue is from TCP Global, and the cream is from Eastwood. The Eastwood paint was definitely the higher quality of the two, but we were happy that TCP had the blue color we were looking for.
      We are in upstate NY, closer to Canada than NYC. The truck is from our area as well, but was a barn find, so it didn't have too much rust on it, considering the usual state of vehicles up here.
      Are you from NY as well?

    Just found the channel at the start of this build and watched all of these videos. Not only is it entertaining it is also very helpful. I have started my restoration on my 86 f250 diesel these past few months. Currently 3/4 through the sanding job. You guys did a excellent job on this truck! Keep up the great builds!

      Thanks! Was a pretty easy job since it was in great shape to start with. Rockauto had the carpet for really cheap so it was not hard to get it looking like new.

    Hey BTC, just wanted to pass along a little info on the Twin Traction Beam front axle. To get and keep proper alignment, make sure that the pivot bushings are good or replaced, same with axle bushings. Those TTB axles are notorious for not keeping alignment. Also, you may need an alignment shop to check your caster bushing/shim, it is MOOG part number K8709, front camber/caster bushing.
    The truck came out phenomenal, absolutely love that you two did this as a home built project. Looking forward to more projects in the future.

    • @TheBadTimingClub
      @TheBadTimingClub  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for sharing! I checked our pivot bushings and luckily they were still solid. I also replaced the bushings in the knuckle later on. Someone had installed the most aggressive camber bushing to try to make up for the lift, and once we got the drop brackets in it was overcompensated.

      @@TheBadTimingClub, I'd say you got it squared away. That beautiful truck is worthy of a spot at the All Ford truck jamboree in Carlisle Pennsylvania, you two should make an appearance this summer, I know I'd love to see it up close.

    Hey! I just found your series and have been watching through. I just got an 85 F250 Super Cab, Diesel, and I love seeing the progress and getting ideas from your videos. We're going to be pulling the bed this weekend so I can grind, paint and repair. My big honkin' unit is a bit of a rusty mess, but still sturdy. And she has 80's goodies from Centurion. Can't wait to see the rest!

    Been enjoying this series a lot. I have an old 96 F250 I’m working on that used to be a city work truck. I got my 4 ton jack stands are harbor freight. $99 for two of you need some bigger ones for a good price. They are surprisingly pretty nice.

    • @TheBadTimingClub
      @TheBadTimingClub  4 роки тому

      Eastwood for the primer and cream, and maybe TCP (?) for the blue. Eastwood was definitely better. Spend as much as you can on paint. You do really get what you pay for there

    I used roof flashing like that in my car in Arizona and it literally melted and ran all over the place. It'll probably be fine in NY though.
