- Game Director Aaron Keller is here to discuss updates to Hero releases, Mythic skins, maps, and more!
Starting with Venture, all new Heroes will be immediately unlocked when they launch and will no longer need to be unlocked through the Battle Pass. All existing Heroes will also be unlocked for players.
Introducing a new way to unlock Mythic skins! With the Mythic Shop, players can unlock past Mythic skins they might have missed in previous seasons.
In Season 11 and beyond, be on the lookout for our next Push Map Runasapi, our new game mode Clash, and more updates coming to existing maps.
Get ready for intense action in the limited-time Clash trial on the new Hanaoka map at the start of Season 10. We’re excited to hear your feedback.

It would be a cool surprise to see some of the old removed maps return after being completely reworked.
I'm talking about Hanamura, Horizon Lunar Colony, Paris, Temple of Anubis and Volskaya Industries.
I understand why they were removed, but it's still a shame to see maps being removed forever.
Why have they been removed ? I had a huge break of overwatch for ~2 years

I generally don't believe reworking old maps is something that community would want. Maybe some people did, but I think it's not the majority of it.

Every map listed could use a rework. Numbani, Circuit, Havana, and Dorado all have rough edges that can make them very unfun maps to play if the team on Defense is competent. @@WR01018

If they bring back the level character border I’ll come back, I truly miss that small but significant feature. Made me feel like I was working towards something, I felt prestige from my new border and the way it evolved was fun to watch

They commented on that years ago, because emotes put you in third person it would be exploited to look around corners etc on heroes that can't normally which would change gameplay, that's why they force the animation to play, if you're gonna emote gotta take the risk with it.
Makes sense, but u can just make it not be third person besides seeing urself and locked at that though, but understandable they dont wanna try to code that as people will probably find a way anyway.@@Narull

I want more than 4 slots for the emote and voice line wheels.
It's so painful to have to decide what emote or voice lines you want to sacrifice in place for another.
We have character loadouts now, which is nice, but I still don't get to have all my favorite voice lines during a single match.

you can find it on the forums, some youtubers made videos about it, basically, it includes a reduction in prices, Legendary will cost 1200, you can buy directly the BP for $10 and it will give you 1200 coins, if you buy the BP you can complete it anytime you want, etc.@@kanchusi
Making shop skins less expensive: ●Legandary = 1200 coins
●Epic = 800 coins
●Unique(new rarity and it's for collabs) = 1900

@@kanchusiI think my response was deleted 😮. I will write it again, but you can google OW2 monetization rework, basically, reduction in prices, legendary skins will be 1200 coins. You can buy BP directly with $10 and get 1200 coins extra, (you can still buy BP with 1000 coins). If you get the BP, you can complete it anytime you want. Collab skins will have their own categoru and still cost 1900 coins, (not clear if you can get collab skins anytime)
recolors shouldnt cost the same as the detailed shop skins

you actually can if you have overwatch on steam - there are launch options and you can input a menu code to choose a menu. it only works for overwatch 2 menus though

Honestly, not a fan of the new backgrounds for ow2. I miss the ow1 random hero, random map backgrounds. How I miss them.

Please make these videos more often if possible, team! I've missed them a lot and while it's great how much communication we've been getting through the blogs and patch notes - nothing feels quite as personal as these videos. It really helps to not only keep a wider range of players updated but to also feel like there really is a team who truly cares behind the game. Keep it up, Aaron. You're doing great

Hanamura is being reworked into a Clash map, I’m sure the others have plans for the same
Anubis is probably my favorite of those mannn it was such a cool map even though it's 2cp
not reworked. It's a totally new map, though it might be set in the same location as hanamura.
i always had fun on Volskaya and Horizon, I don't know why so many complaints about those maps tbh
Genuinely happy to hear about these changes. This makes me want to be an active player again. Before it felt like nickel and dime-ing but this sounds much better. Still, expiring battle passes are stupid. I won't buy premium unless I know I can continue working on a battle pass after it's "expired". Lots of us have lives and can't unlock everything in the amount of time given.

How bout this? You grind through the BP first before buying! Then when it's about to expired you pay for it. Much easier then buying soon as it comes out but don't even make it pass level 20.
I don't think a player with completion concerns over a BP will be that likely to complete it WITHOUT the 20% XP boost from purchasing the pass.@@parrymylogicthen290

LFG you just search and join. I didn't use it much for ranked but it was nice whenever your friends weren't online.

It was activision’s system to prioritize profit over gameplay. Not the developers. Hence why after being bought by Microsoft, they changed it.

@@kaptainkool101 The leaks at the start of season 9 said they were revamping monetization by letting you buy the battle pass with 1000 coins or pay $10 directly and get the BP and 1200 coins, and that you'd be able to complete the battle passes even after the season you bought them ends. Also that they're no longer putting heroes in the battle pass. Also the leak said they were retiring souvenirs and letting you choose which mythic you want to get at the end of the BP instead of just giving you the latest one.

Right now, people see "2600" coins and think "$26" but if they give out coins more with direct purchases like the battle pass, then it's a lot harder for people to see 2600 coins as valued as a pricey $26

Out of curiosity if someone already owns a mythic but didn’t finish the battle pass (back when you unlocked the skin then as you leveled up you got the other styles) will those people just immediately get the other upgrades for example

I love how they make it sound like locking heroes behind the battle pass was an unfortunate technical limitation and now they've finally been able to overcome it and aren't you all thankful??

Well I am having trouble at the minute becase I wanting to get the Overgrown bastion skin which I paid for the original copy of the legendary edition and as for the code date it is not expired from 01/01/2020 so I have clue what to do as i have just bought this and I don’t get anything in return 😅

Bring the Mythic skins back but compensate og players who put the effort money and time in to get those mythics skins a og style a colour or something. It wont take you days to recolour something now would it and this way it would be fair.

Ever since overwatch 1, I have been saying "If they ever add a hero that burrows, I will become a onetrick" I love moles, meerkats, prairie dogs, anything that burrows and HERE IT IS.
Edit: I saw one or two people in comments across the video complaining Venture is non-binary, or... other terms... in reality who cares? It's not a bad thing to diversify. If they have a good story and is a fun character to play with personality that fits the game that all that matters stop trying to to make everything a battle between LGBTQ+ and 4chan 💀

No. Every hero has their weapons we dont need them to be able to change. Most of their abilities wouldn’t make sense
