It’s crazy. I got the big chop about 3 weeks ago and I’ve felt like a new woman since. Confidence has been going through the roof. Im actually shocked because I wasn’t expecting the level of confidence I feel now. I even started shopping for new colorful clothing and fun dangling earrings. Other women have started approaching me. Just yesterday another Mom asked if I dyed my hair! She told me it looked intentionally done like a dye job. Lol!
It’s so great to hear this!! I 100% relate. I went to professional luncheon and a woman at my table asked the same thing-she assumed I added the low lights. 💖
Beth it’s awesome you know when you started allowing your colour to grow out . I have no idea , it’s been longer than 2 yrs and still not completely transitioned . I never made a decision, I just stopped . Your hair looks fantastic , love the shade 💕
I think I’m super close. There might be a little blonde at the ends. We did a super subtle ombré effect so it’s kind of hard to see. I also will continue to grow my hair out. I like it longer and now that it’s growing so thick, I want to see what length looks best. I’ve enjoyed this Bob. “Just stopped” 😍 I love it. I only really remember because February I had the highlights and big cut and then we went into lockdown.
Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary!!! You are the perfect spokesperson for silver hair! You explain to the detail what we silversisters are experiencing. You are a natural beauty inside and out. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Blessings, Tessie
Your hair is phenomenal. It's thick, glossy, and 100% gorgeous. At 62, I have sporadic grays. There's no particular pattern. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. So, I continue to have it colored. You just radiate and exude confidence. I'm glad for you that you chose to go gray. Very thought provoking quote. I get it. You are a true inspiration. I so enjoy your channel. Right now, I'm on cloud 9. I just became a grandmother last week, to sweet Henry Thomas. ❤❤ . ❤❤
Thank you, Rene!! And welcome to the world sweet Henry Thomas 🥰😘😍 Congratulations to you and your family. (Also you do you with your hair!! I went gray faster and earlier than I was emotionally prepared for so it’s been its own ride for me. Now I’m just airing it all out on UA-cam 😂)
Happy Anniversary Beth. Long time listener, first-time caller LOL. I am at 13 months dye free. Red-head or auburn all my life, and now salt and brunette, with a fantastic white money piece at the front. I had a pixie/bob recently - the back is dye free, and still some of those blond highlights at the front. Your initial videos were so powerful to me. The story of how you panicked on vacation because of a hair dye appointment - I GOT IT! Now feel so great. Even love my shorter hair. I am still relinquishing my life long identity as a red head (despite really being a mousy brunette likely for the last 20 years). Really enjoy your videos, your thoughts, your motivation and inspiration. Thank you.
Nancy, thank you for the super kind words! It means so much to me. 💗 I feel so much like I understand the relinquishing an identify. Hair!! It means so so so much and always has. We could dismiss it as a superficial topic, but I think that would be a mistake. I’m so glad you’ve found my videos to be of value ☮️👩🏼🦳💗
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I cut it a lot shorter than I wanted to, I didn’t do a pixie but kept it right below my ears, one more cut and I can start growing..
I totally agree.... my gray hair made my eyes glitter more. I love that quote... writers have such a way of translating our souls to us. This was a fantastic, insightful video. Great job, Beth! Now... go run with that new confidence you found.
You are beautiful inside and out! And I want to say thank you for inspiring me to go ahead to be my most authentic self. Until I heard what you are saying, it hadn’t occurred to me that I will feel more confident in my natural gray. I’m looking forward to rocking my gray, white, or silver color/s, whatever I’m blessed with.
Happy Anniversary, Beth! I enjoy your videos a great deal. I’ll be celebrating my 1 year Anniversary in 10 days, and couldn’t be happier with how I look and feel. 🌺
Totally agree on the new hair growth w/o the dye. I'm only three months in and my regrowth is insane. Before starting this, I thought I was going to go bald!
I can relate to the freeing effect letting my hair color grow out and am welcoming the silver as a new beauty I didn’t realize would be there for me. Confidence is way more pronounced in my self esteem. Best decision ever.
Yessss completely agree with having more confidence, my husband is twelve years younger than me and completely silver encouraged me to transition, I love my silver hair 👩🏻🦳 and being part of the Silver Sisters, silver foxy groups I found great inspiration and kindness. Congratulations on your two years 🥳🎉 you look gorgeous 👩🏻🦳🥰 have a great day 😀
Okayyyy, Louise! 🥰😘 I’m so glad you have the support of your partner! Too many people have let me know they don’t and I can only imagine how much more difficult this is without that support! I love hearing from you and I’m so happy we all found this community and each other. 💞
Another great video, Beth! I can relate to the thought that growing out my silver gave me confidence. It does lead to the question: What else can I improve in my life? This has worked so well. And it is helpful that there are other women out there who embrace what nature gifted them with. Can I just say, I love Brandon's attitude and support. I think I have told you before that I had a different experience. I changed the hair salon and went ahead with my gray hair journey. And about looking in the mirror, it is absolutely freeing not having to check my roots every time I see myself and having to constantly worry about growing out and other people seeing it, and of course being unhappy about it. I also feel that my green eye colour is more noticeable and seems somehow fresher. Ever since I started growing the hair dye out I feel more myself and it gives me the courage to tackle other areas in my life that for some reasons I let get away from me. Almost like courage begets courage. Thank you for introducing David Foster Wallace to me. I have only heard the name before but will now look in to his works. Finally, you are so articulate and thoughtful. I am very impressed how thought through your videos come across. I can see your channel growing and growing and you deserve it.🥰
Wow, Jess! Thank you so much for the super thoughtful and kind comment. It really means so much to me. I think Brandon is a truly rare and angelic human-it made such a difference to have that support. When I talked to him about it I didn’t have my full sense of confidence and he was so encouraging. He’s Gen Z and that might be partly why. He’s just so open to unique self-expression. Okay so David Foster Wallace: his fiction is what some people refer to as “difficult”-serious subject matter, very demanding but worth it. If you want to check him out for the first time, I recommend two essays. “A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again” is about a luxury cruise he took for Harper’s magazine. It’s hilarious and a great introduction to his style. I also love “Consider the Lobster”, which is about the Maine Lobster Fest and turns into a piece about the ethics of eating animals (not preachy, but thoroughly considered and so worth reading). He wrote that for Gourmet Magazine. Finally there’s a movie about the book tour he did for Infinite Jest called “The End of the Tour”. Jason Segel plays him and I think does him Justice (not that I knew him but I did love him and had watched lectures/interviews, etc.) he also has a famous college graduation lecture a lot of people have heard called “This is Water”. Whew. I just miss him so much.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I have never wrote such a long comment but I could relate so much. Thank you, Beth, for the more detailed intro to DFW. That is very helpful! 😊

Beth, I couldn’t agree more with your posts. I recently watched where you referenced SATC and Amanda’s so called grey and grow out which looked just awful, I completely agreed with you. I’m 16 months into my grey grow out and couldn’t be more obsessed with caring for my hair, it’s not that I gave up caring about my appearance when I stopped me dying my hair quite the opposite. Your so right too about all the confidence one gains. I’m brimming with it. Your hair is just beautiful as are you too, you exude confidence and are an inspiration, keep doing what your doing it’s fabulous just like you.
I let my hair grow out during Covid like you. I love not spending the time or money to dye my hair. My hair is shiny again and looks best with my complexion. I put bright highlights around my face only as it grew out giving the effect of balayage. The hardest part is not knowing what color gray you will have in the end. I did cut my hair to chin length which I hated more than the grow out. I feel free, confident and receive more compliments on my hair now than I ever did.
Hello! Thank you so much for your comment. I totally agree about the tension that comes from not knowing what your gray hair will look like. We spent so much time racing to cover any signs of it that most of us don’t even know what we have! So glad you’re enjoying it. 😘😘
I love this. Your words have resonated with me. I’ve always felt like a fraud because I color it, wear extensions, etc. Now at 36, I’m going natural, I’m 11 weeks in but excited to show up as myself.
Happy New Year and congrats on your 2 year anniversary, Beth 💐🍾🥂 I'm celebrating my 1. year February 20. 👏 It's about 1/3 of my current length and a light salt/pepper. The 2 colored look is aesthetically unpleasing, but other than that I'm okay with it - nothing more, nothing less (I've always loved my naturally dark brown hair). Who knows, maybe the gray will grow on me, haha... when it GROWS! Overall, the process is rather uneventful for me, as Danes are super laid back, and I never receive comments of any kind. People here really can't be bothered by other people's hair or appearance. Keep enjoying them lovely 'popping eyes' 👁️💄🎨😘

I’ve been surprised at how many positive consequences have come from growing my silver strands. I also feel more confident, liberated and my hair is definitely healthier. I think that nature is really smart and perhaps going grey serves purposes that aren’t immediately apparent, but important. My dentist said she felt like she was burning her bra by going grey.
