Setup/Pair BMW to Garage Door (2 Ways)

- I show you two ways on how to pair/program/setup your BMW vehicle to your garage door. If the first ways doesn't work (standard garage door) then try the 2nd way for rolling code garage door. Note that with the 2nd way you DO NOT need your original garage remote.
This BMW is a 2017 550i but may work on other models/seires (series 1-7) like the BMW 228, 230, 530i, 530e, 540i, 545i, 550i, 228, 230, 330, 330e, 330i, 430, 440, 530, 530e, 740, 745e, bmw 750, 840, m2, m235, m240, m3, m340, m4, m440, m5, m550, m8, m850, z4, i3, x5, x3, x6, x4, x5, x7, x2, x1,

For clarification on the second method, for some doors you need to program the button with the remote as demonstrated in the first method, then press the program button on the garage door, then go back to the vehicle and press the programmed button 3 times to allow the garage to learn your car’s signal.

In the first method, by holding both buttons, you’ve erased ALL garage door openers paired to your BMW. How do you add a second garage door (at vacation house) while retaining the primary opener in its #1 slot?

I have an issue that I can’t find info on.
I have my home garage programmed. I also have a different garage door miles away. When you push the buttons 1 and 3 it erases all stored codes. So when I want to program the second door it erases my home door. And when I program the home again it erased the second door.
How do you get a second and third programmed without erasing all of the previous stored codes?
press and hold the single button to reset that single button, not 1 and 3
Hey man before i use the second rolling code technique do i still need to press the the first and third buttons to make the light flash before pushing button on the garage door opener?

Thankyou!! The Genie Openers seem to all be rolling code. Just brought home a new/used 2020 BMW M540i with 16,000 miles. Happy Day. Don't have to spoil the visor by clipping the opener to it.

Question so if I wanted to do the garage for my second car do I just use the same remote but instead of pressing button 1 just press button number 2 is that correct?

Yes u need remote in order to setup. U can order a replacement garage remote.

Use the 2nd one instead when syncing
At first, neither method worked for me. I saw a separate video for Mercedes that stated that for the second method, some garage doors require you to press the button on your mirror two or three times. It worked for me on the third press!
I think this is the first time I have ever commented on a video, but sincerely this method works. After trying for 10 minutes, ready to quit, this did it.
