It's polymeric sand, it will come off. Citri Strip 15 minutes stand time. Hot water pressure washer. Did this many times.

The sealers fine. They used the wrong sand or didn't set it after sweeping it in. I've rolled water based sealer plenty of times over polymeric sand, never an issue like that. Terrible explanation in this video

I'm about to put polymeric sand in my paver block patio (after 16 years and following a thorough pressure washing) then seal it. Thanks for your reassurance that I'm doing the right thing. Seeing the sand on the pavers in this video was a little unnerving.

When you use power lock sand..& let it set over night. Then you can do your sealing. By then the sand should be hard ..you won't have this problem

Roll and seal is fine. Just use a dried off polymeric sand that's hardened. I do it every 5 years. No issues. DONT USE SAND
