Adarac Pro Series Bed Rack - Ram Rebel

- My search is over, I have finally found a bed rack that works with hard folding tonneau covers! I install Adarac's Pro Series bed rack on my Ram Rebel and absolutely love it!
This rack uses an aluminum rail that mounts to the top side of the bed rail to attach the bed rack. This enables the use of most hard tonneau covers. As long as your tonneau cover allows access to the stakehole pockets you're good to go!
Here's a link to the rack I went with:

Kinda bizarre I was just asking a buddy to weld me up a rack because I couldn’t find one. He linked me your video and you answered every checkbox I gave him. 2020 Rebel, folding hardcover, removable, minimal. Very nicely detailed installation video. Thank you.
Great detailed build. A rack with a tonneau is a popular combo.
I couldn't agree more!
Boy, we are in bad times, just in the couple years since you made this video, I looked that up and its $625 now😮
Ugh, inflation sucks!
Outstanding video! This is the rack I need for my 2012 Ram with a Bak-Flip bed cover so I can haul my kayak to the lake.
That’s the exact reason I went with this rack! Hauling my now perception outlaw
I got my rack for the exact reason you did. Now the waiting game!
Great video. I was looking for a ladder rack that’s compatible with my tonneau cover for my 2014 Ram. I think I just found it. Thanks.
Glad I could help
Thanks for the video, I'm looking to buy this exact one to go with my Tonneau cover. You sealed the deal for me.
Make it rain!
Thank you for up loading. Great video.
Great informative video. Ordered my Pro rack today as a result! Had a Thule roof rack for my 2010 Dodge for my kayaks, and intended to use it on my 2020 RAM, but it doesn't fit, so I would have to buy a whole new set up. Glad I saw the video, the ADARAC is a way better option for basically the same price as the Thule, actually a bit less and way more functional / accessible too.
Great video! Thank you--wrapping up installation right now! Love the combo with the cover--we have been looking for years for a rack w/cover for our 2500 Ram, and be able to fit our bikes into the bed as well as the kayaks up top. This combo is one of the few (only?) we have found and very affordable. Next step is to find kayak holders for two kayaks that will fit onto the rack. Are you comfortable with just tie-downs? We will be traveling longer distances with a travel trailer attached.
Dude. Nice. Ordering mine today. New 2021 1500 on the way and these will rack my 12' Native kayak beautifully!
Native kayak!!!! Nice!!!!
I got lucky. Retrax Pro XR electric cover now has the T grooves built right into it. 2021 F150 Reg. Cab. This cover locks in place wherever you stop it. It has remote I keep on keychain. :) Regards.
Thanks for a great video. I just bought this rack and your video was very helpful.
Great to hear!!!
This video really helped me install on my 1500 silverado with tonneau. Thank you! #subbed
Thanks so much!
I've been looking for a rack that could be installed without removing my Tonneau cover...then I discovered this rack solution on the ADARAC website.Further investigation and I found your install video. As you mentioned..it's a rare thing to find a rack that allows you to do this. AND THEN...the bad news; I have no stake holes in my 2003 Dodge Dakota...so now I have 3 options: I could never haul my boat, or I could take off my Tonneau cover and buy one of hundreds of available clamp-on truck racks. Third option...buy a different truck ( one with stake holes) and install this rack. Why Dodge would build a truck without stake holes is a mystery... next truck extremely unlikely to be a Dodge because I've got a pretty good grudge going over this whole thing.
Are you sure the stale holes aren’t there? A lot of trucks have them but the plastic bed cap covers them up. I would look into that a little more before completely throwing in the towel
@@WaterFowler41 Believe me...if there were stake holes in this model truck..I'd know it. Perhaps since ADARAC is selling these stake hole products, they might want to familiarize themselves with the few truck models that do not have stakeholes
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Going with the PRO for my Chevrolet 2500
Its a great rack and super easy to remove if need be
Love you're set up!!!
Me too!!!
Nice bud. I like it looksgood. I have two native kayaks that are pretty heavy and 13ft. They are pedal driven.
I’d kill for a pedal kayak! My lifetime gets the job done but it’s like the Honda of kayaks. Would like a Native or Bonafide.
@@WaterFowler41 both are nice. My wife got us two about 4 years ago for my birthday. No issues with native. We fish saltwater mostly handles the bay and the gulf.
Thx for the video. I've been looking for one for my Power Wagon with the Rambox. Crazy expensive! I'm thinking about building my own.
Yup the Ram box makes things very challenging when it comes to racks. Racks can get into the $1k range real fast.
@@WaterFowler41 Yeah, the two options I've seen for the PW/RamBox are like $2600 bucks after options and shipping. No way baby! That's the Nutzo and Contour. There are internal mount, but I run a Retrax Pro cover and dont' want to loose that. I think I've figured out a way to attach and still use the Ramboxes. Just a matter of deciding if I want to try and modify something cheaper, or try to weld my own.

Good video. Talk about timely. I’ve been looking for a rack for my Rebel for months that would fit with my hard folding cover. When you remove the racks, the channels stay on the side rails right?
I have a kayak and my wife has a paddle board. Looks like they would fit. I was thinking I had to go to a roof rack mount which I didn’t want on my Rebel. Thank you.
Yep the rail stays on and it can actually double as a tie down rail.
The cross member is very wide which would fit 2 yaks or in your case your kayak and your wife’s board.
Instead of slicing the back stake pocket would it work to go at it with a router bit? I wonder if you can retain the top piece of plastic but just remove the drop?
If you could fit a router in there, go for it
Great and informative video!!! Does the rack make any wind noise on the highway?
Great video. Do you mind if I ask what make an model of the hard tonneau cover? Looks like a awesome combination!
It’s the Extang encore and you’re right, this is a killer combo. Here’s my video about the tonneau

Thank you
Very informative! Are you able to slide the bars to accommodate other supplies like a cargo box?
The actual rack parts can be mounted anywhere along the track.
Ese kit servirá para una de Dodge ram 2010 y saber si se puede enviar a México
Yo no se, amigo. Llame al fabricante (877-708-4787)
Looking at this for my Ram for the same reason. Glad I found your video. I was surprised to see the bit about cutting out the stake pocket. That concerns me a great deal. What tool do you recommend for cutting that thick plastic? Any risk to damaging any sheet metal?
A Dremel or rotozip works perfectly. As long as you go slow you should be fine.
I used a box cutter.
Great informative video! Can you tell if the t-slots along the rail would be compatible with extruded alum like from 8020? (Just looking at potential future custom things)
26:40 and 25:30 I had to chuckle because it looked SUPER tight when it was all up there, lol! At least you didn’t have to remove the towers.
I think the t slots would work but I am not 100%
When you have the Adarac and the Ceros on are they even height. If not, do you know the height difference?
They are pretty damn even but the adarac is a tad bit higher
Excellent video WF41! I was also looking at what would fit my Rebel with my BakFlip MX4 - your video came as I was zeroing in on the Adarac and KBVoodoo. Wondering if you think the size of cross bars will hold a Thule roof box given the 1.5 inch size bar on the Adarac?
I saw a video of a guy running a box on the same rack so I would assume you can. I don’t have much experience with roof boxes so I would double check.
Good luck with your rack research, I think right now this rack is like $450 on realtruck.
Thanks so much for doing this video! I have a 2019 RAM Rebel with a BackFlip bed cover and this rack absolutely fits and allows my bed cover to stay functional. Just as easy to mount as you showed. I also had the same challenge in that the garage door is a couple of inches too low to fit the truck, even when I lower the air suspension to the lowest setting. The truck only goes into the garage in the winter so taking the rack off come winter and leaving the side rails on looks like the easy solution. Am curious about mounting a kayak in that it looks like like you just mounted it directly to the rails? We have a 13.4 foot x 34 inch wide Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL coming (it will carry me and the wife or one of us and our 90 pound dog). I thought I would need to add kayak mounts of some kind to the rail but looks like you have just dispensed with that? Also looks like you don't bother to tie down nose and tail of kayak? Any advise welcome.
My kayak gets strapped directly to the rails. The rubber strip is enough to hold the kayak still. I then loop a strap across the front and one across the rear. Then I use a bungee cord to keep the front handle from rattling on my roof. No issues with the kayak moving at highway speeds.
Jan I have a 2022 RAM 1500 with a BackFlip. What size uprights did you get?
@@aaragon6866 Follow this link: I am in Calgary so Canadian pricing: shop.thetruckoutfitters.com/product/adarac-aluminum-pro-series-truck-rack-system-matte-black-dodge-09-22-ram-57/
Other than drilling into the uprights is there a way to mount stuff to the sides overland style. Or is that not recommended.
I’m sure you can drill into the uprights but that would be the only way to add overlanding style cross members
Do I use the same rope to put both sides of the rails on? My kit only provided 2 strings of rope.
Yeah I guess, mine had 4
love it..is the hardware stainless steel?
Yup!
Thanks for this very informative video. In your opinion, is this sturdy enough for a hardshell RTT that weighs 140lbs? It would see some moderate off-road use. And, do you think the lower height Adarac would be better? (I could use a rolling tonneau cover with it)
I’ve seen folks throw rtt on top of these. I’d double check weight capacities but I’m fairly certain you can.
No you can not lower the height.
How much higher than cab is fwd crossbar? Wondering about being high enough for a canoe?
3” I think, I haul my kayak on the rack and it clears the cab nicely
Can you use this with a thule extra storage container?
Yep! Just need to clamp the container to the crossbars somehow
Does anyone know if this prodect is available for a ram with a 6 and a half foot bed? I've got a Quad cab instead of a crew.
It should be but I would definitely drop a note with agricover to verify. This rack is awesome!
@@WaterFowler41 Thank you!
Great video, thanks. Anyone know if this rack will work with a Softopper (in my case, 2013 F150 XLT)? Tx.
As long as your topper doesn’t cover the stake hole pockets you should be good
@@WaterFowler41 Thanks, appreciate the response.
What is the weight capacity o
From adaracs website: Weight Capacity: 1,000 lbs. static, 500 lbs. dynamic and 400 lbs. off-road dynamic, evenly distributed.
