😂😂😂 You could fit another house between that gap
I recently finished an attic like this myself. I’m guessing she is using trim where the gap is. It’s much cheaper to install trim in high joint areas like attics, not to mention, it will look better with trim. Have you priced what the going rate for a finished attic is with smooth drywall?
@@billdavis6978she isn't going to sleep with you, just give it up. Taping one joint is a lot quicker than finishing and installing all that trim. But either way, that gap is still too wide to not mess up the miters and how the trim is fastened.
Lol, that wasn’t my intention and Sex honestly doesn’t interest me much if you must know. I merely was explaining why I leave gaps. I admire anyone ;man or woman busting their backside for a living)
Look in the mirror bro the gap in between your teeth is Wayyy bigger
She gonna put joint compound in that 5" gap. It won't crack.
was the gap intentional?
People usually do the peak of the roof flat.
@@crustyflatonion9595 not like that they don't wtf are you kidding
@@MrReckless1978 she brought the drywall all the way up to the wiring she has, are you fucking blind? She's going to have it flat on top with pucklights, and it would be a waste of drywall to bring it all the way up, also would've been impossible to install on her own if she was trying to put the wiring through the drywall at the same time.
Sir, this is EXACTLY How they do it. Do some research.
@@MrReckless1978 they actually do, it’ll look better when u fill in the seams and paint and allows to mount stuff in middle
@@Sergeantflips look no matter what you say this is just poor tradesmenship, their is not a finisher I know worth a spit that would do this.
"You can't hang it by yourself"
*installs it incorrectly*
There was a break in the footage to remove the guy who had to help her! 😉
She was fixing it askew... then it was square-on! 🙂
For the people asking about the Gap ...if you notice the wire hanging from the ceiling it looks to me like it's going to be built in flat for recessed lighting down through center
You know your supposed to close the gap and then put a flat piece to sit in between the two pieces of dry wall...
If that was the case it would be framed out. What your gonna screw the drywall to the drywall? Fasteners would pop with the first storm that passed within 100 miles.
I wish my dad would have thought of this, instead of yelling at 14 year old me for not holding the drywall still enough 😂
🤦🏽♂️😭
Lmao I can relate to that 😅😂
Only women go around thinking that you can learn a craft without having someone yelling at you 😂
@@godhallelujahgaming7947 don't think she was wanting to learn but was forced into helping. Calm down big man lol. Most people aren't stupid enough like blue collar guys such as myself as well to get into trades. Great $$ but your body is fucked by the time you retire that's if you even make it to that point without getting killed on the job from some seriously dangerous jobs
@@norton5.037 wtf?!😅 Are you her relative? How would you know?😂, where you there?!😂🤦🏾♂️. Making yourself look stoopid 🤪
great use of a cleat! work smarter not harder!
That gyat to be heavy 😂😂😂😂
Ayo 😂😂
Shit, i learned a long time ago, as long as someone is willing they can do it.
We had started a remodel at my house and i went to work and my wife had finished the wall that i had started by the time i had gotten home, i was proud
I stumbled across your attic build a while ago and liked the idea, we may do plaster walls in our attic tho bc we have very limited space and can't fit full drywall boards in the attic access
Nice , the two of them look so amazing even from afar , just majestic .
Now 5/8
Only ~20lbs more
And a flat 8 foot ceiling
@@gtarules1 20lbs more is nearly 30% more weight. That extra weight across those dimensions and stiffness make a huge difference.
It looks like you missed the last stud there
That's a tape measure issue.
Also why put a joint right near the peak. Why isn't there drywall on the peak?? NoCoat isn't 12" it's like 4"
That's a rafter but yah the board is def too long 🤷🏼♂️.
Not gonna lie, that setup to hold it in place worked out good. Now let's see you do some 12ft board straight over your head. 😁
Why? Just get a 2nd person and install it right
@fauxbro1983 In a perfect world, a 2nd person is great, but if you're working alone, you have no choice. Companies don't like to send a 2nd guy just to hold drywall up. It's like stocking a couple hundred sheets of board on the 5th floor of an old building with no elevator big enough to fit 12ft board. I've been there too, and it has to get done regardless, so then you get a 2nd person. 🤣
Done 12ft 5/8 by myself.onto a ceiling... Just to say I could do it.
Anytime that comes up now, unless I got another guy. Sorry GC get fucked or get a bench
@@damonspang9508 Definitely worth it to get a bench lol, fuck all that noise. Installed 5/8s for 2yrs and trying to solo install large ceilings without a rig is just a waste of energy.
That’s awesome thank you for sharing that I’m gonna put that in my toolbox and use it in the future. You girls are awesome
If you're going to do that and in a similar situation, make a cleat that will pivot so you can swing it out of the way. Unless that top gap was intentional. Either way that design would preclude you from going up flush.
That second screw you drove was very close to that wire!!! By the way, you did a better job than I could!!!
Over hanging the stud on the left side creates a weak joint when you go to mud that it'll crack.
yup gotta cut the size to the centers of the stud
@@rman229before you put it up though lol
Several years ago, I attached drywall on the ceiling using a few ladders, so yeah, it can be done.
IDK y but I can't stop watching this
“You can’t hang it by yourself “ 😂😂 yeah you’re right you can’t !!
That top gap is too large to fill with mud. Gotta get the top gap near flush.
If she use fix it all hot mud. That stuff is bullet proof. But she dun fuked up though.
She said “cash me INside, how bout dat”!!
She cold wit it ✌️🖖
For ppl asking abt the gap, there looks to be wiring going down through the middle probably for a light fixture, most likely intentional
Not really you would use a router💀
Maybe u should know what you’re talking abt before commenting. If there was supposed to be a flat for a fixture it goes between the two drywall panels not to mention there is no frame for the fixture to screw into.
Girl, been there, done that!
Well this video wasn't for you then. I figured it out by myself a while back as well.
@@stevenhuckabay7997 what are you even talking about?
The brace was smart.
I’ve seen it on another UA-cam short. You Can do it on flat ceilings too not just vaulted.
Your a strong woman 💪💪💪💪💪💪
🙄
The only gap im thinking about is the one missing between the insulation and those rafters. Thats why you sprayfoam an attic!! U should tear that drywall down and see whats behind it in a year...
👍 nice work!
I'm trying to figure out how to do this myself but zero knowledge.. and this video was one of the first drywalling shorts that pop up.
That’s it???👀👀 Bet, I appreciate you!🤍
I been wanting to do this but the insulation part got me stuck. Am I suppose to put the vent thingys under the insulation or can I put the insulation without them?
There is drywall panel installation tool you can buy for around 200 bucks. Probably rent one from homedepot/lowes also. Depending on what drywall you need some can weigh over 100 pounds. Light weight is like 40/50. I use to work production for a drywall manufacturer. Shit gets heavy. Bad on your arms, back, ect
Trying to get your bevels lined up and held tight when using 5/8s 12fts for a ceiling can be a nightmare at times. Attempting to "twist the sheet into place long enough to screw it is a great way to mess up your neck/back when you're tired.
Well done 👍
What kind of drywall did you use? And how did you get it up there?
😂😂😂😂😂
Your hired! 👏👏👏
Nicely done
Nice moves Cara 👍🌹
You’re a bad ass!
Why is there a gap up top? Serious question
Vent holes ;)
No you can run a strip of rock up there in the gap. Tape/ texture
It's supposed to be butted into the vaulted ceiling and measured to the truss
Ya missed the stud, I assume you’re gonna cut it, but that’s what a tape measure and/or strapping is for.
Sheesh you hang better than a lot of my contingent workers lol
Thanks for the motivation
It can be done. I was thought how to hang drywall on a *horizontal ceiling and shown that one screw in the middle can hold the 1/2" 4 x 8 sheet of regular Sheetrock. You do need good shoulders though 😆
I took both my extension later. Extended them until they were 5 inches from the ceiling set my sheetrock on top then just started putting in my screws from one end to the other. That's with a 8 ft ceiling.
I Like The View 🥴🥳
I'm about to install on a flat ceiling, any tips? It's a higher ceiling, old house.
Heck yeah awesome work
Much respect 🎉❤😮
I can see the asbestos flying around😂
Jk great work!
Yea your right. That drywall is perfectly plum against the other piece. How if you don't mind me asking did u get that so flush.
Listen it takes very precise measuring and special skills 🤣🤣🤣 but in all seriousness I installed electric and a beam and we needed every inch
What about the over hang on the last?
...on-center is a thing
@@chill-regulartrzy7751hang it long cut it later
Yes please
Bottom sheet first. Stack them afterwards. Stagger the joints, though kids.
Cool video ladies
Most people go top down unless your math gives u a joint a foot off the ground
Top down actually. Then a wedge to lift bottom sheet up and leave a gap on the bottom so moisture does not soak into the sheet if water leaks.
WOW!!!
Good job
Fittin 😂
mmmhmmh! I LOOVVEEE drywall!!
😋✨💖
Yas queen❤
As great as it is to have the strength for this. But this can be dangerous without a second. If you lose your balance you have to catch yourself and the whole drywall. Where a partner can take the weight of the drywall while you regain balance.
If I had someone to help that would be even better 🤣
Cake
She had a 2x4 piece at the bottom of the drywall to help her to put the weight of the drywall on the 2x4 piece so she can struggle a lot less.
Omg thank u so much , I was having hell!!!
Which MAN showed you that technique with the board? Oh...UA-cam? Which MAN put that on youtube? 😂😂😂
Once hung a 13’ sheet by myself, proud to say I beat my other coworkers hanging the ceiling
Eres muy 💪 fuerte ❤
lol the overhang at the end
You can hang drywall by yourself, I have done it as well. But it's much easier and smarter to do it with a helper. I am not a professional. I just hang it in my own space.
I’m just here for the badonkadonk
😂😂
What the hell is with the gap…just when I think I’ve seen it all…then I see this nice job Einstein
To be fair, the caption says, "hang drywall" not "hang drywall properly". I personally would never make a complete fool out of myself and post it online, but gosh darn it, this is a free country. 🇺🇲
Omg… I’m enjoying your vids. Currently remodeling.
Wow. 👍
All the professional contractors and architects are commenting in this channel. Everyone criticizing a girl doing a great job.
Gaps are optional ! No charge.
Do you have one video on an over head flat regular ceiling?
I'm no pro but I've been hanging drywall all of my life and finish pretty good too but there shouldn't be a gap like that and you should stagger your butt joints and the sheet should be cut to break in the middle of the stud. This wasn't for expansion or for ventilation. She simply put her little helper 2X4 too far down and figured just go with it. Who uses those 2X4's anyways? We used to go hang all the lids (ceilings) with two guys and then split up and hang the walls by ourselves. It was nothing to do a 150 sheet apartment in a day as long as it wasn't all chopped up (lots of closets or wrapped windows etc) There's no shame in renting a drywall lift to do the ceilings and get those joints tight. As for the butt joints, like I said, you should stagger them and here she has two butt joints breaking on the same rafter/joice which is a no go because it will crack when the house settles.
pretty sure they should meet at the top and land half and half on the rafter. apart from that 👏 bravo
Very strong 💪
I need some help on my Remodel In Florida I have 60 sheets left to do 👷🏻♂️
She's just showing she can do it. There's a lot of dudes who can't even do that anymore. Good job.
Isn't it easier to start at the bottom and use the lower one to hold/brace the next one also getting a tight fit between the sheets?
Everyone who does drywall knows what’s wrong with this I swear
lol it was on purpose because there was a beam going up above and we needed every extra inch 💁🏻♀️
Looks good to me. 😊
Gap in the middle, no board to scew into on one end, the other isn't split on the stud for the next piece. Have fun finishing that.
Get down that’s what up young miss your a beast … question what’s going on the gap (a beam or a foax beam )
She called a professional right after she made this because she knew she fucked that all up
Congratulations ladies. It took you until now to discover how to install drywall.
Good job men worked out how to do it the day drywall sheet was invented or you would not have modern homes to sit in while being all empowered.
Start at bottom place next board on top?
Dam she drives a dump truck to work🤣🤣
I did on a scissor lift doing a barn flip into a home huge peak
Yo hago la finishada para que quede bien 👍🏼
no no no. the gap at the top is for the t-square so she can trim the end of the sheet! she got this, guys!
That really low vaulted ceiling is basically like doing the walls
When a man showed you how to do somethingp😂😂❤
in my opinion That's a great woman, ❤guy lucky to be with her has it made
But what about the gap on the too edge how you gonna leave a whole joint up their why just not go ahead and push it all the way up against the other edge makes a perfect 45 degree angle your just making more work for yourself
Omg.......❤❤❤❤❤
Sheetrock love shares
large gap and no glue between screws?
Yay
New Gap City
Buy stock in joint compound, shits bout to go through the roof
I love her
