Bringing new capabilities to wheel load scales, the LTR788™ Dual Wheel Load Scale was created for direct measurement of individual tire loading in a dual-tire configuration. Until now, there was no method to accurately weigh the tires individually, with the current procedure being to weigh both tires and divide by two. The LTR788™ enables service inspections of individual tire ratings and allows tire anomalies to be detected with a portable digital scale. Tire loading and tire conditions impact fuel economy and braking distance, and tire failure can lead to accidents and debris on roads.
The LTR788™ is currently the only tool available to enforce FMCSA Regulation 393.75. MCSAP Federal Funds can be used to purchase this tire rating inspection scale.
