Best Western is a very old hotel, I think it does not link what people think about when going to the coast. It's a basic motel away from beaches pretty much. Sea Venture is lower cost and every room overlooks the ocean. They also just renovated the hotel next to Ventana Restaurant. If you go off season, you can sometimes get a decent deal. I have been in every hotel in the area as a guest. There are so many more. Cottage Inn in Shell beach/Pismo Beach have fireplaces, good staff and clean rooms. Top notch at a good price!
Seacrest is underrated and not shown here but trust me it's a great place to stay at, breakfast is amazing. Great location next to the beach.
