- Joe Ferguson of RPM Motorsports builds Ken's bridgeported 13B rotary engine using Goopy Performance 1-piece apex seals, reusable water and oil seals, solid 1-piece dowel pins, and oversized stud kit. Time to turn up the boost on this thing!

I love these 13b rotary assembly/disassembly videos, they're loads of help. Can't wait to get my FD this year! Keep it up!
O 14:07
YES! i was really looking forward for more content of Kens RX7 build. Thank you guys! Cant wait to hear her brap!

This time on Speed Academy! Dave and Ken observe the porting and sealing rituals of the Mazda Rotary Hammerheads, whose once great civilization was lost to less innovative and bold designs. Note the traditional song of the Hammerhead people, as recited by Dave himself. Remarkable. 😕😄
Every time you put out a video on Ken's Rx7 I walk right out to the garage and work on mine. At this pace it will never be finished lol
Rotorhead sayin' hello! Can't wait to hear this rip some braps
yesssss, can't wait to see this thing run. also in the middle of a bridgeport build myself so this is helpful 👍👍
Sitting in Pearson Airport watching this!
1:37 best moment ever! mem potential is high with this one
Someone make a GIF of that look.
I just love rotary 😀💪
I can not wait to hear it run
The Surgeon is back 😆
3:25 LMAOOOOO Ken at age 15
With love
lol we'll have to have FD battles if we ever get our cars running at the same time. V8 vs Bridgeport would be a fun comparo.
For Sure! U can drive the crap out of mine and review it too. I won't care!
The problem is, v8 or 13b, it takes time to build anything properly :D
Not my kind of engine, but they are very popular down here and they are a very interesting design.
And, when it comes down to it, all knowledge is valuable - great video!
Ken is back! Yay!
It's really okay to show a rotary build again. As a RX-7 owner, I'm really disappointed that you didn't do a more in depth video.
As awesome as rx7s and rotarys are, watching any rotary builds scare the crap outta me
it's witchcraft, for sure. Pretty sure Joe worships some strange rotary gods that require him to sacrifice a sheep or a piston engine of some kind.
Bunch of studs by the looks of it
I saw a video where they said that for the final cutting of the side seal, they did it with the stone, and not just doing it to take off the burr
Ken's hair lookin like it came straight out of an anime.
What about the three pieces Apex Seal, Citroën patent GB1438850, in a Mazda?
Patent US1024504 is nearly same as 'Liquid Piston'; patent GB1260437 is for Nikasil coating, a German invention. Mazda once got improvements by using a 'wavy' Apex Seal spring vs the usual concave springs, but I failed in retrieving reference.

Housings have chatter marks. , they need honing..lol
GR8 Video! Has anyone of you tested in bench, in a Mazda, a Sachs, an NSU Wankel RCE, the concepts by Kawasaki, patent US3848574, a wedge extension of plug hole, pointing towards trailing side of Rotor; or that by Toyota, SAE Paper 790535, a continued glow plug in leading plug hole site (example, a Webasto ignitor for heater)?
Danke. Blessings +
Hey Mr. Ken!
Dr.! :D
That is Dr. Ken to you sir
davideb23 hello hello!
didnt know you have a youtube channel Dr. Ken. Love your build man, i wish you all the best and look forward to more videos on it!
Thx for the vid.
Why not lubricate the rotors and housings when building the motor?
very nice
So, this video is not on Ken's RX7 playlist but seems to be the latest of the series.. Any news on his project? Did it make 500 hp? )))
Great job
Drinking game: Take a shot everytime Joe says "Uhh"
Sent from the E.R.
Nice!!
i only see two studs in this video if you catch my drift
Hiiiiyoooo!
KENWAGON.!!!!!!!!
What have i missed, Rotary rebuild. What car is this going in?
Ken's FD RX7. It has been a semi regular build on our channel for years.
I see, i shall have to go through the uploads and find them. Perhaps i had a memory relapse and have seen (old age)
Make up some dummy assembly pins with an internal thread - you can screw a bolt or, better yet, a fabricated "T" handle into it to easily pull it out if required.
I've noticed elsewhere that some builders are using billet (side plate?) housing parts - I assume these would only be required for high boost applications?
Oh, looks like a dry build - or the lubrication not showing up? On that, anyone using dry lube coatings?
a lot of vaseline is used, so its not dry
How long has it been since the first video in this series?
what is the difference between bridgeporting and streetporting a Rotary engine?
Any updates on ken’s build 🤔
CNC porting is the way forward
Why put the Vaseline on the irons?
DP is the only big stud in this video.
Needs more rotors
WATCH ROTARY HEMI BREAKTHROUGH
what in the world is a bridgeport rotary
How can I contact you?
J ported wow your engine must be for racing only and will not last that long . I know, have many mate’s here in oz with rx 3 even r100 with rotary engine
man... I pretty much know the in and outs and every part of the regular piston engine... but I know nothing about the rotory, other than how it functions.
What's the Frequency Kenneth? (1 in 25 people MIGHT get this...)
Now make it a 3rotor....
Brew mance
Mhmm rotary
Kibbalittry
Mhhmmm
Motors are electric... Engines are internal combustion...
And rotary engines are for Wankers !
Hi Ken I would to purchase an N/A Bridge port engine same build . I intend to fit this engine in a NB Miata and expect to achieve at least 250hp at the wheels My e mail nizammohmmed@yahoo.com I live in Trinidad in the Caribbean Kindly respond as soon as possible
